Everyone on and off the train were smiling! Little kids loved it too. And as the train rolled by slowly, the people in the shops waved at you and you of course, waved back. Mother's with toddlers stood near the tracks just to wave as it went by. The weather was perfect with lots of sun yet just enough wind to keep you cooled off. Perfect! And rockway felt like it was in a time warp... like a normal Rockwell painting on life magazine! Seriously... felt like you were in 1952's!!! Oh and many people also brought their dogs with them! Wonderful! Only wish it was cleaner and they could fully refurbish the cars. Could be a great organised joint volunteer project... for seniors and teens. All and all we loved it and the town!

I was one of 6 in our crew and whatever 'idea' I had in my mind, the trip far surpassed my expectations by oceans! Captain Kevin & Miles are OUTSTANDING! It can get chaotic out there, but Miles & Kevin are two of the coolest gents & they keep the energy calm & FUN! Miles had that deck operating like a well oiled Tuna killing machine. They make you feel comfortable & it is clear their #1 priority is our safety & experience. Within MINUTES of dropping lines, we were catching Tuna (no exaggeration). Captain Kevin knew EXACTLY where to take us & Miles knew exactly how to handle the deck. We ended our trip with 20 Albacore Tuna, all of which were 30+ lbs (except Nate's - HA) & 12 Dungeness Crabs . Captain Kevin made sure we were prepared from the time we booked to the day of because he cares so much about our experience & that we were prepared. I never use the word 'perfect' because it is rare that anything ever is...but in this case, it was epically perfect. THANK YOU, Captain Kevin & Miles for making this a legendary experience for me. This is the best port in Tillamook bay for crabbing and accessing the ocean…read more It offers 4 boat launch lanes, ample free parking for cars, $10 boat launch/trailer parking fee, free life preservers to borrow, and convenient nearby bait shops, restaurants, and restrooms. Also there's now a nearby food cart pod just off highway 101, so you'll have lunch/dinner covered if you don't have much luck fishing/crabbing.

Or they are at church giving thanks? The pile of lumber the karen complained about is apparently long gone. I've been coming here a few times a year for the past 35 years or so and I can't say that I've ever seen her opinion of an eyesore. And creosote is not especially harmful unless you consume it in large quantities. So let's talk about the good in Garibaldi and there is plenty of that here. Not a lot of places to eat but there are a few. With the scamdemic dining options are more limited but I'm sure the shop owners are suffering a lot more than their hungry wannabe patrons. The OCSR runs daily excursion trains daily during summer hours up to Rockaway. They also do very limited availability runs up to Salmonberry if you are lucky enough to get on one of those. The track bed gets increasingly rough as the years go by and that line did go all the way to Banks (and perhaps to Hillsboro if I recall correctly) not that long ago. The marina is great. I don't happen to have a boat but I love going there and talking to the skippers of old wooden vessels and taking photographs. These sailors come from all over and are mostly very friendly and happy to chat with dumb tourists like myself. The only negative, and it's really not a serious negative due to safety reasons but there is often a cop with radar at either end of town. I don't know what the limit is for actually getting a ticket but a small amount of inattention could potentially spoil your whole day. Of course if you run someone over because you are speeding that would spoil their whole day so..... Garibaldi is one of my favorite little towns along 101 and I've run the length of it from the Olympic peninsula to California.
