This is for the 4/19 Spring Splendor Excursion from Rockaway Beach to Wheeler…read more Overall a nice pleasant experience, except that the person on the microphone spoke too quickly and didn't explain some of the train specific terms that are not very common. It would have been nice to spend more time in Wheeler shopping. The train seems to move at a snails pace in some parts.

So I just want to start off by saying the scenery isn't all that scenic. It's just the backyard of…read morepeople's houses and some occasional ocean views. The ride is also not smooth at all and the staff is awful/rude we were on the 21+ moonlight train ride on 07/11 And felt like we were being watched the entire time ended up getting kicked off with literally no way home at midnight thank God, a bartender hosting a karaoke night in Rockaway gave us a ride back to our RV that was in Garibaldi(2+hr walk if we did have to) so definitely be cautious of booking and having a good time (NO CRAZY ACTIVITY WAS TAKEN BEFORE BEING KICKED OFF - "just to loud") even though the music was blaring to the point you literally had to yell just to be heard and they even made an announcement that they were trying to fix the music situation like literally five minutes before they even came up to us. But it just got worse when my husband was just trying to ask like why we were getting threatened to be thrown off the train so your not allow to ask questions Also want to say I only had 3 beers same with my husband so if wasn't like we were even drunk! Oh yeah don't eat the chicken sandwich croissant I was literally peeing out of my ass for days after

This is the best port in Tillamook bay for crabbing and accessing the ocean…read more It offers 4 boat launch lanes, ample free parking for cars, $10 boat launch/trailer parking fee, free life preservers to borrow, and convenient nearby bait shops, restaurants, and restrooms. Also there's now a nearby food cart pod just off highway 101, so you'll have lunch/dinner covered if you don't have much luck fishing/crabbing.

Interesting reviews for this little town. Three stars because most places are closed on…read moreSunday?!?!? Maybe the hard working folks in this town need a day off? Or they are at church giving thanks? The pile of lumber the karen complained about is apparently long gone. I've been coming here a few times a year for the past 35 years or so and I can't say that I've ever seen her opinion of an eyesore. And creosote is not especially harmful unless you consume it in large quantities. So let's talk about the good in Garibaldi and there is plenty of that here. Not a lot of places to eat but there are a few. With the scamdemic dining options are more limited but I'm sure the shop owners are suffering a lot more than their hungry wannabe patrons. The OCSR runs daily excursion trains daily during summer hours up to Rockaway. They also do very limited availability runs up to Salmonberry if you are lucky enough to get on one of those. The track bed gets increasingly rough as the years go by and that line did go all the way to Banks (and perhaps to Hillsboro if I recall correctly) not that long ago. The marina is great. I don't happen to have a boat but I love going there and talking to the skippers of old wooden vessels and taking photographs. These sailors come from all over and are mostly very friendly and happy to chat with dumb tourists like myself. The only negative, and it's really not a serious negative due to safety reasons but there is often a cop with radar at either end of town. I don't know what the limit is for actually getting a ticket but a small amount of inattention could potentially spoil your whole day. Of course if you run someone over because you are speeding that would spoil their whole day so..... Garibaldi is one of my favorite little towns along 101 and I've run the length of it from the Olympic peninsula to California.
