The male host, "Buck", found me waiting for the sun to set (as I timed to watch and then be back at my car by DUSK) and decided to start yelling at me to leave. He then followed me through the forest on his golf cart, menacingly, freaking my dogs out, so I had to stop and ask him to go in front of me to stop freaking out my dogs and that he was also creeping me out a lot since we were the only ones there. He wouldn't listen. He just sat there and ignored me and stared at me until I started raising my voice and yelling at him my situation. Then when I got back to my car, there were three young women going back to their car that also got kicked out of the park. Pam, the other park host was on the phone with who she said was the manager, and when I said that the same say dusk, and that is misleading, she said no it's not, and there's no real definition of dusk, and when I said that her coworker was yelling at me, she said "I know my husband" and that he wouldn't do that.

A bit of a hidden gem as most other places are usually pretty crowded. She told me about this place. A little hidden off the path as I've been going to this part of the Oregon Coast for decades and never knew it was there!

The sand is fine and great for digging with the kiddos, building sandcastles or just walking barefoot. It can get pretty crowded but the water is decent and it has nice views. I can't in good conscience give it more than three starts though; The flying carpenter ants are quite a nuisance and you will have to deal with dozens if you plan on staying more than an hour. I liked that they allow bonfires at first, but unfortunately as they have very few restrictions, you will find that people are burning all evening and all night and the smell of smoke overpowers everything. There were people burning in large pits they dug in the sand and teens running around with sticks lit on fire all night. Just being in proximity filled our clothes and gear and car with a thick smoke smell. In the morning it was difficult even to breathe in the fresh air from the beach with the smoldering fires and thick smoke smell. If you love bonfires, this is definitely the beach for you though and you would probably rate it more of a 4 or 5 star beach. If you go to the beach for the fresh, clean air, I would only recommend a short visit here during the day.

A little disappointed but you can't stop Mother Nature. The trees and bush have block the view entirely. The stream that runs along the path you can see in spots. The road up is narrow and lots of pot holes. If the hike was 2 miles or so I would do but not 1/4 mile. Maybe next time

After about 3min of rough going, we figured out that no tire tracks mean we took the wrong fork in the road. FYI- there's no internet when you get off the main road. When we got to the right place, parking was super easy, and even though it was rainy and soggy and no one was around, we took all our stuff out of the car anyway. There were reports that people's cars were broken into, so yeah- took everything. The water fall is like, an easy 1/4 mile up through some lush greenery. The path is, maybe kinda paved, but not smooth. Incline is rather minimal. The waterfall at the end is pretty cool. Not loads of water, but you're really close to the river the whole way up. It was a relaxing walk, and entirely pretty and pleasant. It's worth a look if you have an extra 30-45min., maybe if you're going out to the Tillamook creamery or just headed up or down the coast.
