See the choo-choo train come by you can get tickets to ride the train. Lots of vendors- table display and food vendors too. The town is friendly. Shop local and notice brewery and many eateries too. Public restrooms are clean and plenty. Beautiful sandy beach. Great day to be out and just walk along the beach get your feet wet. Picture perfect day for a picnic. Tillamook Creamery is not too far away. Will be back again.

There is parking right at the beach access with a restroom (though from reading it's not always open) and if you're looking for a less crowded option on the coast, you should give this a visit. Some interesting seascapes to take in and a small waterfall (Hug Point Falls) to discover as well.

A true gem in Rockaway Beach…read more This easily accessible stroll though the wetlands is a pleasant break from the beach or roadtrip along 101. Limited parking and services, but an excellently maintained elevated boardwalk that instantly puts you at ease. You are surrounded by greenery, birdsong, and the trickle of a creek as you make your way to the giant old growth cedar tree. It is a (mostly flat) trail (~ 1 mile) and I shared the path with strollers, pets (on leashes), and several folks in wheelchairs, or with mobility aids. It is a nice way to beat the heat and coastal winds since it is quite sheltered. While I only saw one picnic table at the two trail endpoints, there are benches throughout. Truly a magical place.

It's pretty flat most of the way, just a slight incline and decline near the tree. They have a small parking lot available, but if it's full, people park along highway 101. There's a porta potty available in the parking lot. There's also a dog waste bag station and garbage can available. The old growth cedar tree is amazing! There's a lot of vegetation to view along the way too. Mushrooms, bleeding hearts, fuschias, etc. Would highly recommend.

It is the smallest/shortest lighthouse on the Oregon coast and they were offering a tour. The area surrounding the lighthouse included a trail to the Octopus tree which was worth seeing. There were areas you could stop and look at the coast which was quite stunning. The only downside was that the rest rooms were closed and there were porta potties including one that was unstable plus the doors didn't lock so it was a bit of a challenge. We were glad to have stopped and enjoyed the scenery.

As you drive on the Oregon Coast Highway heading North, somewhere between the town of Garibaldi and…read moreBay View. You will come across rock formations on your right called " The Three Graces ". These sandstone rock formations are roughly 20-30 millions year old. This area is also an Historical Site were Lt. Theodore Talbot camped during his exploration of the Yaquine Bay. This area is acessible only during "low" tide. There are no safe parking areas near the rock formation, so it is highly recommended to drive past the formation and to park near the intersection at Harborview Drive. From here you can find access to the beach. Enjoy !

6/21/25 The hike was over grown bush. We were ducking very…read morelow to not get hit in the face. When we got to the end you could hear the falls but could not see them at all. A little disappointed but you can't stop Mother Nature. The trees and bush have block the view entirely. The stream that runs along the path you can see in spots. The road up is narrow and lots of pot holes. If the hike was 2 miles or so I would do but not 1/4 mile. Maybe next time

So, right before the parking lot, we took a wrong turn at the fork (do NOT go left- follow the…read moresigns for 'Oregon State Park' ). After about 3min of rough going, we figured out that no tire tracks mean we took the wrong fork in the road. FYI- there's no internet when you get off the main road. When we got to the right place, parking was super easy, and even though it was rainy and soggy and no one was around, we took all our stuff out of the car anyway. There were reports that people's cars were broken into, so yeah- took everything. The water fall is like, an easy 1/4 mile up through some lush greenery. The path is, maybe kinda paved, but not smooth. Incline is rather minimal. The waterfall at the end is pretty cool. Not loads of water, but you're really close to the river the whole way up. It was a relaxing walk, and entirely pretty and pleasant. It's worth a look if you have an extra 30-45min., maybe if you're going out to the Tillamook creamery or just headed up or down the coast.

There is a nice playground for kids and in the ramada, some information about the ducks you can see on the lake. Some of the ducks were close to shore so we were able to see them up close. It was a nice spot to stop and with good information.

This playground will keep your kids busy for a while! The is a smaller parking lot that might get filled on warm summer days. Bathrooms are available in the parking lot.
