If there were ever a good case of the crabs these dozen colossal Blue Claw crabs that became my dinner would be them, and all for a relative bargain of $100 for nine pounds worth.

A visit here was a bit disappointing. We did purchase 2 lbs of farm raised shrimps and 1 lbs of Cod and both were fresh. Prices were high and the majority of the seafood were not local. For example, they had blue craps from South Carolina @ $65 per dozen. Why shipped crabs from SC when local craps are plenty? Maybe our expectations were too high that a local seafood shop would have local fishes.

Purchased a dozen live crabs. Drove home about 6 minutes away to steam them. Five were dead. FIVE. Won't be going here again.

Always helpful staff. Best selection of fish at the beach! Go to place for fresh jumbo lump crabmeat.

The people are nice but the food seemed old after I spent over 50.00, not sure if it is fresh out of season

Fish might be good that you take out. But don't ask them to make sandwiches for you they are terrible.

We were in Rehoboth Beach for a few days of R&R. We looked everywhere for blue crabs, but found out…read morethat the local Maryland blue crab season was over at the end of November and most of the crab shacks were either closed or only open a short time each week to sell whatever local fish were available. We saw a "Crabs" sign on the Coastal Highway in the parking lot of a BP gas station and called the phone number. I spoke with a gentleman who said he would be selling North Carolina Blues the next day. We decided to check it out. We drove over in the late morning to see what was what. The trucks were open and there were bushels of blue crab available for purchase. They were all smaller than what we had been able to get last year out of the Chesapeake, but we expected that. They were mostly large/medium sized or smaller, but looked healthy. Prices were negotiable, starting at $50 for a dozen, but quickly dropping to $80 for 40 steamed on site in about 20 minutes. We struck that deal and settled into our car to await the finished product. It was cold and lightly snowing, but these folks got the job done and were bagging the crabs as we went over to complete the transaction. Smelled good and their warmth was a comfort to our hands. Apparently, we should have counted how many we actually received because when we arrived home, the count was 37, not forty. I recalled seeing a few crabs on the ground, but didn't think they were ours. I'm still not sure, but we were short three and somewhat annoyed. Yet, the Blues had good taste both cracked open eaten by hand, and in our homemade crab soup. It was still a good price and I can accepted that a few fell out as the large shopping bags were being filled. Lesson learned - Come to Delaware/Maryland crab world during Blues Season and not have to worry about any of this. Three Blue Claws for the tasty adventure.
