We were in Rehoboth Beach for a few days of R&R. We looked everywhere for blue crabs, but found out that the local Maryland blue crab season was over at the end of November and most of the crab shacks were either closed or only open a short time each week to sell whatever local fish were available. We saw a "Crabs" sign on the Coastal Highway in the parking lot of a BP gas station and called the phone number. I spoke with a gentleman who said he would be selling North Carolina Blues the next day. We decided to check it out. We drove over in the late morning to see what was what. The trucks were open and there were bushels of blue crab available for purchase. They were all smaller than what we had been able to get last year out of the Chesapeake, but we expected that. They were mostly large/medium sized or smaller, but looked healthy. Prices were negotiable, starting at $50 for a dozen, but quickly dropping to $80 for 40 steamed on site in about 20 minutes. We struck that deal and settled into our car to await the finished product. It was cold and lightly snowing, but these folks got the job done and were bagging the crabs as we went over to complete the transaction. Smelled good and their warmth was a comfort to our hands. Apparently, we should have counted how many we actually received because when we arrived home, the count was 37, not forty. I recalled seeing a few crabs on the ground, but didn't think they were ours. I'm still not sure, but we were short three and somewhat annoyed. Yet, the Blues had good taste both cracked open eaten by hand, and in our homemade crab soup. It was still a good price and I can accepted that a few fell out as the large shopping bags were being filled. Buyer beware! Ordered 1 dozen jumbo live blue crabs online to pickup at 4pm. Web site listed 50 large mixed for $125. Went to pick up my crabs they had steamed all crabs then charged me $150 for a dozen! Complete rip off we are local trying to support local businesses. I ordered 2 dozen large crabs, steamed and mild spice. The price was outrageous. The guy working and waiting on me stated, "he's out to make money", no doubt, you got me this time, NEVER again. My wife and I have been here our entire lives, should have known better. We always use the locals or mom and pop shops, but this company succeeded in ripping me off. The crabs were small and some even mushy. TERRIBLE. Do a better job Crab Connect. You've lost a true local customer. Stay away all, it's worth the trip to Cambridge, MD. Visit Rehoboth Beach for family vacay and we decided to do steamed blue crabs for dinner. Their website appears to be working and business continuity appears to be sound as they have 4.5 Google rating. So based on the rating decided to order some for dinner and what an utter disappointment and disaster. The order was placed on line with a confirmation email and we tried to call multiple times throughout the day, no one picked up. So in reality how "good" is their business??? When arriving to pick up they gave some excuse that their online order was down or out of service... while received an email confirmation with the confirmation number. And we tried to call multiple times to get exact quote for the price of the order and they literally didn't pick up. When rating the business it's not just about the quality or taste of food and price, but the entire package of the experience. Since we didn't get a taste of the crabs we can't rate but customer service is utterly poor and atrocious. The business must be reliable, consistent, and meets expectations as noted or follow through as the website and reviews state. When arrives to pick up with the confirmation number and be turned away due to the business lack of planning and also be told that there wasn't enough crabs for the order was really bad organization and business model. How will it be trustworthy??? Or even be believable. And the fact that it's a road side business makes the whole experience just awful. read more

So I am alright calling ahead and reserving a time for a bushel. I am alright for getting #2's. But getting crabs that are 5" under the legal Maryland and Delaware size is absurd. The claim that is used is that the crabs are from North Carolina therefore they have no legal limit in size. Funny how this guy that runs this business has no customer service skills. Bought a bushel of live crabs and had over two dozen dead! Drove straight home from picking them up and started loading my cooker. Once I got through all of them I had over two dozen on the ground. You could tell they were dead for some time. Great food and friendly owners. We had the crab cake platter. It was definitely one of the best crab cakes I've ever eaten.

I have been eating crabs all of my life. It is hard to find good live crabs and most of the times, it comes small and hollow. I have purchased several bushels from them in the past several weeks and only had several bad ones. Daniel and David are awesome. They will go out of their way to take care of you. The crabs are so fresh, delicious, and big. You guys rock! They will be selling oysters and lobsters in the fall. I can't wait to try them! read more
