Chillin on the beach!
Tamika B.

This beach was decent and super friendly for all. I was impressed by how clean it was and everyone keeping their distance during the pandemic. Beautiful day spent with good people and an active toddler. We were able to go far into the water and still stand up with the water not being deep. Not much wave activity here. There's lots of rocks once you enter the water. You can find patches that is not too rocky. Such a nice beach for relaxing, getting some sun and children friendly. Meter parking is conveniently few steps from the beach and water. I would definitely visit this beach again!

The Capt of the life guards is amazing. Keeps a constant eye on everyone. Felt safe having my boys there. Keep up the amazing job.

Came for an impromptu getaway from Baltimore County. Didn't arrive until 3pm and there was plenty of parking available at an affordable price. Beach was not overly crowded at all, allowing for safe physical distancing. The beach is secluded away from the crowds. There is a snack shack and bathhouse close onsite, but no boardwalk with retailers so make sure you bring everything you need with you (my daughter left her swimsuit ). Overall a family-friendly beach escape destination.

beautiful clean beach awesome life guards clean sand clean water first time visiting and def will be back

There are not many waves because of the peninsula jutting out far into the sea. Think if Lewes Beach like a very big bath tub with a gentle current, mini waves, and a great view of the Lewes to Cape May ferry boat. The water is so gentle that people take inflatable pool toys out onto the water so if you ever wanted to buy that huge unicorn pool float at Target that can seat like three people but you did not have a pool big enough for it, you can take it Lewes Beach. Parking is $2 per hour amd the meter is an electronic deal that requires you type your license plate. Go early or wait till later in the afternoon. If you roll up at 11 am' all the parking will be taken. There are a couple parking areas just over the bridge that you could pay and hike. No concession stands so pack wisely.

The beach itself is quite small with barely no waves. This is a perfect beach for someone who doesn't like dealing with large waves. The sand is always clean and isn't rocky. Don't forget to pay for parking before leaving!

You can see the ferry in the distance! Kids loved it!

It's a great beach! It's better than the crowded Rehobeth beach. However I still like going to board walk.

Nice quiet beach only downfall is parking is limited. They charge $2 per hour which is not bad, beach is free no fee.

Small crowded beach. Lots of paid parking. Only one outside shower to wash sand off so line gets long. Pretty sunset view

It's on the bay which means no big waves to knock your kiddos down and drag them out to sea.

Broadkill Beach - Sunrise

Broadkill Beach

Love Broadkill Beach!!!…read more This is a Delaware Bay beach, between Slaughter Beach and Lewes Beach. It's my Bizarro World beach from North Cape May and Villas, across the bay. Unlike Jersey, I saw evidence of campfires on this beach, as well as 2 cars, and other ATV mule-type vehicles. While a fire on the beach at night seems SOOO fun, I respect why this is not permitted in NJ, and was a little concerned about the legality of it in DE. Cars on the beach are just not cool. It can severely damage the ecosystem and/or dunes, not to mention the hundreds of crab burrows I saw in the sand. And of course these idiots got their car stuck, and spent an hour pushing it out of the sand. Leave your car on the road. All that aside, Broadkill Beach is a very cool beach, in a small one-road community near Milton, DE. The beach itself is beautiful, with tranquil bay waters. I did not see any jellyfish, thank goodness, nor shark fishermen, like I do in Cape May County. This made me feel more safe with my toddler swimming. No lifeguards, but that means no beach tags. Just beware the current, because it's strong. You can get some medium waves, but not huge. Nice long stretch to walk. Many people had dogs with them. Most dogs were leashed, which was so appreciated, and showed their respect for the environment, and welfare of others. There is free public parking just off the road leading to the beach. Main beach entrance is right there. General store is right across from parking, with all kinds of supplies. This place has such a relaxed, safe, fun, beachy vibe!

Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk - Beginning of Veterans' Day Weekend

Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk

The boardwalk is exactly what you think of when you think of a boardwalk, a classic wooden walkway with beach views and storefronts. There's something nostalgic about it even if you've never been here before. The downside to going so early was that many places were still closed. We had hoped to grab coffee and stop in a few shops, but we ended up doing mostly window shopping and just enjoying the weather with our pup. I thought the Penny Lane mall was especially cute. It's tucked away just off the main strip with a cute arch announcing that it's there. We walked the little alley and found a shop called Sea Finds. We did a lot of window shopping there and honestly it's probably a good thing that it wasn't open yet because I would have gone inside and spent a small fortune. While I wish more things had been open during our walk, the boardwalk itself is really lovely. I can imagine how vibrant and bustling it must be in the heat of the day during summertime. There was some road work being done but other than that it was a peaceful experience and a nice stop overall.

When you have a December birthday, and can get comfortable weather that's not freezing, and be near a beach, and not have to travel on a cruise or to Florida it's a must on the to do list. Smaller boardwalk then Atlantic City, still worth the visit. I was lucky enough to stop an older couple, who ironically shared my special day, with getting married, so happy birthday to me, and congrats to them to take my picture in a few spots. The main boardwalk was fairly busy, nothing crazy, as parades I've been too in Buffalo, NY and surrounding suburbs. The weather to me was perfect, and not cold at all, for the parade. Parade well organized, police presence, for parade/ traffic control, full of Christmas cheer and patrons were friendly and cautious of others in attendance. Boardwalk consists of variety of shops, places to eat and hotels. Highly recommend a visit, check website or email for events
