We took a morning walk along the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk and overall it was a really pleasant way to start the day, it just wasn't exactly what I expected. The boardwalk is exactly what you think of when you think of a boardwalk, a classic wooden walkway with beach views and storefronts. There's something nostalgic about it even if you've never been here before. The downside to going so early was that many places were still closed. We had hoped to grab coffee and stop in a few shops, but we ended up doing mostly window shopping and just enjoying the weather with our pup. I thought the Penny Lane mall was especially cute. It's tucked away just off the main strip with a cute arch announcing that it's there. We walked the little alley and found a shop called Sea Finds. We did a lot of window shopping there and honestly it's probably a good thing that it wasn't open yet because I would have gone inside and spent a small fortune. While I wish more things had been open during our walk, the boardwalk itself is really lovely. I can imagine how vibrant and bustling it must be in the heat of the day during summertime. There was some road work being done but other than that it was a peaceful experience and a nice stop overall. read more

Visited on my birthday; December 1 in the earlier evening and even though it was off season, still did the brief walk on the boardwalk. When you have a December birthday, and can get comfortable weather that's not freezing, and be near a beach, and not have to travel on a cruise or to Florida it's a must on the to do list. Smaller boardwalk then Atlantic City, still worth the visit. I was lucky enough to stop an older couple, who ironically shared my special day, with getting married, so happy birthday to me, and congrats to them to take my picture in a few spots. The main boardwalk was fairly busy, nothing crazy, as parades I've been too in Buffalo, NY and surrounding suburbs. The weather to me was perfect, and not cold at all, for the parade. Parade well organized, police presence, for parade/ traffic control, full of Christmas cheer and patrons were friendly and cautious of others in attendance. When it's a rainy day at the beach, the boardwalk always allows you to "seize the day." From exploring the many boutiques or the souvenir shops, there is plenty to do. Some food highlights include Grottos Pizza, fired Oreos, or the many ice cream options. Stop into any store and purchase a sweatshirt that will keep you warm all day long. Many of the restaurants have public restrooms and you can pay for parking along the streets. You can expect traffic heading towards the beach and boardwalk, and heading out. Expect delays but know that people are always coming and going, so finding a spot is easy. read more

Always fun to walk up and down the boardwalk. If you walk south on the boardwalk from the Main Street into Rehoboth - you'll hit Funland. A great place for kids to play and go on rides. This is a fantastic place to visit. It is one of my favorite beach towns because of the people that frequent this place. Non judgmental and friendly, I had been here once before and loved it and I decided to come back to try it again and this time I loved it even mote. The people here accept all people regardless of their sexuality, race or religion and I love it. I don't know but I think it's great to visit a place where judgement isn't a factor. When we go away we look to just have a great time and this is a place where you will have that great time. Parking is a challenge though so you have to have patience. Only street parking unless you're staying in a local hotel. I'm sure there must be a couple of places where you can pay to park but I haven't found any yet. Maybe next time! read more

I tried looking for the president at this beach. I couldn't find him. The boardwalk itself was okay. It was the end of the season. Many of the shops were having end of season sales. A couple of restaurants were closed or closing for the season. Even though it was the end of the season, there were still a lot of people. This was my first time to Rehobeth in foreverrrr, maybe 10+ years if not longer. And to be honest, if you've traveled to Ocean City, then you've seen even more than what Rehobeth has to offer. If you're looking for decent food, good parking (good spot, only costing me $7 for 2-hours), and simply put, a day at the beach.. then Rehobeth is PERFECT. 5-stars. Literally nothing can be beat about this place, but for me personally, I love activities when I'm outside - I like a beach, game, food, beach, nap, food mix and for someone who has been to above mentioned, Ocean City, there's Ripley's, bigger arcades, more food options, etc. I wouldn't mind a simple beach only trip to Rehobeth, but if you're looking for activities too, Rehobeth is not your place. Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk was first built in 1873, although North Atlantic storms have played a hand in periodic destruction and rebuild since then. One mile long, it captures what is best about such attractions (families, fun, nosh, fresh air and sounds of laughter and surf), without the excessive honky tonk and debauchery that bedevils and diminishes so many other "boards," like Atlantic City, Wildwood and Ocean City. These boards are in a time warp, where it is the 1950s and everything feels right with the world and our innocence has not been lost through war, social upheaval nor pandemics. I would recommend Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk for everyone. There's several options. Tho, I recommend taking the bus more than parking your car here. There's plenty of places to rest for the elderly, like my mother. All kinds of delicious foods. I also prefer shopping here over other places. I also like the staff in the various shops. It reminds me of when I used to work here in 1999. My gripe is way too much sea food. But, it's the beach. Whatever. read more

Lovely boardwalk. While the boardwalk itself is about 1 mile long...the portion of it that has shops is much smaller. Nothing like what you'd see in Atlantic City. Interesting variety of small shops and lots of eating options, especially as make your way toward Rehoboth Avenue. Lovely views of the beach and Atlantic Ocean. Can get crowded during the peak summer months and weekends...so be prepared for lines for shops/food, crowded beaches and less parking close to the boardwalk. We arrived on a summer Wednesday and had to park about 1/2 mile out along Rehoboth Avenue and make our way to the Boardwalk...not a bad walk but can be troublesome for older folks, kids and those with limited mobility. Lots of metered street parking throughout the area...can be paid via the app or by credit card at the meter. I chose credit card since as I saw a few reviews claiming the they were ticketed despite using the app to pay for parking. Be sure to read the street signs...some areas (not on the main streets) are city-permit only...I'd say stick to the meters to be safe. The meters are about $3 per hour and are in effect from May 15th through September 15th , 10am - 10pm. read more

The boardwalk is really nice as is the beach here. I think the length end to end is over a mile and is popular with the locals in the early morning. There are quite a few hotels, shops and restaurants that are on the boardwalk but aren't kitschy like most other ones. I've been here several times over the past couple of years and always had an enjoyable experience. read more

As regulars of the OCNJ boardwalk, we were not used to alcohol being served so close to the beach. The drunk crowds are noticeable, and I can imagine it gets worse as the night goes on. Be aware. The beach is packed, with people constantly crossing to reach it. The stores here are similar to those at other OCMD boardwalks. The boardwalk itself is short, so many people end up walking down Rehoboth Avenue instead. We recommend exploring the variety of shops there. read more

Even in mid September, after Labor Day has signaled the end of Summer, the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk was still a sight to behold. Yes, some of the stands had closed for the season, but there was still plenty to see and sample. The primary food group seemed to be frozen treats in every permutation and combination known to man. Ice cream, soft serve, custards, concrete, shaved ice, Italian ices -all of them were represented in some form or another. And if you wanted something a little more filling, there were French Fry, pizza, burgers and hot dog stands. And if you needed to pick up a souvenir for Little Suzie or Uncle Joe, no worries because you can buy T shirts, key chains, and tacky tourist souvenirs for every name on your list from dozens of places. We walked the Boardwalk and found it to be a real pleasure, even the skateboarders were courteous. After Labor some of the shops close, but the staples stay year round: Fischer popcorn!! You must get em, the one with old bay is my fave! Candy Kitchen!! Saltwater taffy and fudge! Dolles! The cousin of Candy Kitchen lol Grotto pizza! Nicolas! Louis pizza (my favorite) Kohrs ice cream. Thrasher fries! The kite show! So many more to list! And no need to feed the meters! The meter maids are gone for the off season! It's very chill and not as busy as OC. So you'll definitely will not see foolishness as OC. read more

After having a mediocre dinner at Big Fish Grill Rehoboth, our fam headed to the boardwalk.  I was bummed I couldn't see it during the day as it looked like it had potential.  So, here goes my nocturnal review.   EXPERIENCE: Driving through and walking along Rehoboth Avenue was actually more fun and lively than the boardwalk itself!  Parking is a chore but payment is easy via the Parkmobile app. From the bandstand, the northern end didn't seem too exciting so we headed south.  With little kids-in-tow, we stopped at Funland for good-times horse racing and other games and rides.  I saw a few eateries and bars but didn't get to stop in as they were closing up shop (early, around 11pm). Bench seating is plentiful. Compared to the boardwalk at Ocean City, MD, this one is a runt!   OVERALL: Go early and go elsewhere for nightlife. read more

Not unlike other boardwalks. There's a tons of things to do, places to eat, and sights to see. There are lots of entertainment options. Parking sucks but so does every other boardwalk I've been to. From DC, Rehoboth, DE is maybe a little harder to get to than Ocean City, MD, but my wife seemed to think it was cleaner and the people nicer than Ocean City. This was my first time at the boardwalk and as soon as I walked it I knew I wanted to come back here every year! There are so many stores to check out, it's unbelievable. Personally, I'd come off season. Tons of parking, no crowds, the place is all yours. It's fantastic to walk during the day but even more special at night. Just great views and decorations and the sounds of the water don't hurt. I did most of my shopping off the boardwalk. Great prices on T-shirt's and hats. So much fun food to choose from. They have everything from Indian and lobster rolls to fish n chips and authentic Mexican. You need a week's stay here just to try all the food. Save room for dessert - there's a TON of ice cream shops. Rehoboth beach boardwalk truly is a gem. In between the fresh seafood, friendly people and small town businesses, it's a win all around. It's also incredibly dog friendly so bring your pups! Most hotels around the area are dog friendly as well. read more

When your cousin says there is nothing in Delaware and no point in going to visit it. That means its time to explore. And it's unfortunate, that my cousin was/is dead wrong. Because, I took a short trek to Delaware on my last day of my East Coast trip and what a good long peaceful day it turned out to be. It was glorious! I mean, really! Delaware is a state, in fact, the first U.S. state, there's even a University (the Hens?!), so I knew there couldn't be nothing to do there. What do the college students do for entertainment? The state is on the shoreline, so there had to be a beach or beaches of some kind. And Delaware is also one of the 13 colonies. I'm not sure why So, off I went to adventure. Just driving into Rehoboth Beach's atmosphere of shops, visitors/locals, beach atmosphere, was a bit exciting, a little nerve wracking too. Parking was a bit of a pain in the main parking area where all the shopping is, because it was PACKED! But if you venture to side streets, parking is A LOT easier and might even be closer to the beach. Rehoboth Beach is fun and cute. There's a nice long boardwalk and in the main section there is a lot of quirky shops and eateries! I visited in the middle of the week, on a Wednesday, but even though it was summer and still really hot. The beach boardwalk was not very crowded. I'm pretty sure, most of the beach goers were on. the. beach. The beach really was, exactly what I'd needed after spending so much time looking at monuments & other history filled areas, visiting the monuments was definitely a good experience, but sometimes it's nice to take a break from being touristy. And Rehoboth Beach was a highlight, even outranking some of those other historical sites! One day, I hope to return to the State of Delaware to see more of it. :) Probably when I finally have the freedom and privacy to get a job and have an income. read more

this was my first time to Rehobeth, and overall things were very nice. Of course the water was a little chilly, but there was signage to let you know the conditions, which on the day we win. Waves were a little rough because of the rip currents. I thought it was a really nice gesture that the elderly individuals had the option of utilizing a beach wheelchair without having to pay so that they could enjoy the beach also. there were many different spots for rinsing the sand off once you got out. And security was very prevalent. The boardwalk was pretty clean for the amount of people on it. I saw very little trash and I did see individuals walking and keeping the boardwalk clean. The shops were full of people. Everyone was very friendly. There was tons of food options. I didn't notice that some of the pizza spots were duplicates, but I think that was just to give people the option not to have to walk all the way down the boardwalk to get more. There were benches along the walkway, some face, the boardwalk, some face, the ocean, which was nice to give people the option. The lifeguards were on duty, and were very attentive to what was going on. I heard them blowing the whistle's numerous time to keep the patrons in the safe areas. I. read more

This beach has a nice, albeit smaller than what I'm used to (Ocean City, NJ / Wildwood, NJ), board walk. I was glad to see my favorite soft custard store - Kohr Brothers. There were many tee shirt shops. I like the set up, and I'd guesstimate that 80% of the people were abiding by COVID guidelines - wow! Very unlike in NJ, I hate to admit ! The boardwalk dead-ends into a good amount of small/quaint/unique shops. Very cute. read more

Oh this boardwalk is fantastic! Music, food, shopping, games and miles of beach!!!! If you cannot find a delicious food for any crazy craving then you are just not paying attention! Popcorn, peanuts, Ice cream, Chocolate covered Bananas, Pizza, French Fries..... Oh .. its crazy the sights and smells! This is another typical boardwalk with plenty of gift shops, concession stands, and hotels. At the two ends of a boardwalk it is much more narrow and contains few major attractions, most of this area is off site housing. More in the center of the boardwalk is wider and it contains your usual attractions. There is an opening in the middle of the boardwalk that contains a bandshell surrounded by concession stands and gift shops. Access to the beach is available throughout the boardwalk and many people were washing their feet at faucets there for the very purpose. The only issue is parking is horrendous, if you don't have a hotel be ready to park several blocks away, if at all. read more

Super clean is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of this boardwalk. Friendly people and great restaurants seem to be the theme here. The boardwalk is small but they pack in enough shops to satisfy just about everyone. Funland is located on the boardwalk and this is a great spot if you have younger kids since the rides are aimed at younger kids. Very reasonable prices for the rides also. read more

The boardwalk is a family-friendly spot to chill out from the beach or relax in the evening. There are a few arcades, Fun land of course, and a bunch of retail shops and food stands. My largest complaint would be all of the shops sell the same kitschy items and the food stands are also all the same. How many Grotto Pizza stands do you need? While the boardwalk stretches for awhile, most of the attractions are located in a short stretch. Parking can be an issue so I'd suggest checking the side streets unless you want to pay $9 per hour. I enjoyed the stroll on the boardwalk with my family and I would definitely return on our next trip to Rehoboth Beach! read more

I'll admit I was worried that this boardwalk wouldn't stack up to Jersey boardwalks - luckily it is actually better than some. Somehow the overall feeling here is a lot more classy, despite many stores selling the obvious tourist items like printed t-shirts and hermit crabs just like some far less savory boardwalks I've been to. It's only a small little strip of land but it's still very pleasant to walk through. One thing that's great about Rehoboth Beach is it's diversity, and this can be easily seen on a summer night on this boardwalk. Additionally the crowd here is family friendly, and there's none of the attitude typically found at the Jersey shore. However it's not a perfect boardwalk. Parking is a nightmare and if you think you're going to fight the crowds on Rehoboth Ave you're so wrong. Luckily for me I found a nice little enclave at the beachfront end of Rodney Street, so if you don't mind a bit of a walk I'd definitely suggest going there first. There are a ton of store fronts, but many are versions of the same store (like Grotto Pizza or Dolle's - I don't understand how this one tiny area can support so many of them?). Even the little boutiques that are here tend to sell all the same items. The only thing that really stood out to me as being a unique attraction to the area was Funland, and if you're willing to fight a swarm of little kids to check it out, I think you'll find you'll have a good time there. Overall I like this boardwalk, I just feel that certain things hold it back from greatness. read more

Although I no longer live in Delaware, I can never forget my summers in Rehoboth. The beach packed, the boardwalk hummin', super good food, family, the roar of the ocean...! The east coast beaches are a lot different than the west coast beaches. If you can believe, I think the waves are calmer on the east coast. I miss Rehoboth Beach and some many people try to get out of Delaware, but now that I've been gone for 14 years, I miss my homestate soooooooo much! Hope to make it back soon. I had only been to Rehoboth beach once before and by time we went out to explore the boardwalk, it stormed, so I was super excited this time around with clear skies, and it being 80 degrees! First stop was Funland! It's like a small stationary carnival/fair. It has games, bumper cars, rides, and concessions AND the tickets are REALLY cheap! My favorite ride was the haunted house. It's not too scary but definitely makes you scream, lol! Back out on the boardwalk, there are sooo many food options. From popcorn to coffee to fries to slushies to ice cream to pizza to sandwiches to upscale restaurants to quick eateries, anything your heart desires, is there! We ended up eating at Green Turtle and because it's a seco d floor restaurant, we got an amazing view of the beach and boardwalk activity! We even ate outside on the deck... Although it's only a 2 hr drive from me, I would always stay over night because the parking fees are a bit pricey for a 3hr limit... And who wants to be in the middle of having beach fun to run back and feed the meter? Not I! Trust me, you'll love it here. I had a blast with my gf walking down Rehoboth Beach. Since Dewey Beach doesn't have a boardwalk Rehoboth is a great place to get that boardwalk experience. While walking down the boardwalk which is not that long however they had plenty of boardwalk food such as boardwalk fries, ice cream, funnel cake, deep fried Oreos and deep fried cheesecake. My gf and I indulged in the deep fried Oreos and funnel cake!! The boardwalk also offered clothing stores and cute little beach shops. I have always loved Rehoboth. There is a ton to see and do, plenty of places to eat and drink, and just overall a fun place to spend a weekend. The boardwalk will lead you to plenty of bars and restaurants in the area. The beach is clean and pretty and allows dogs during the off-season. The town itself is also very walkable which is unheard of for many other parts of Delaware. If you're looking for good beer AND good food, Dogfish Head has a restaurant here. There is also Conch Island which makes excellent drinks. Try to stay away from Grotto's, there's absolutely no reason to go there. Overall, I love this town and also Tanger is right there so bring some cash because you're going to be shopping! read more
