I have been using Levin in Winfield for nearly 9 years. I recently took my Chevy service van in to have the rear brakes replaced. They quoted $500 and change. I had them do the repair . The very first day I used the truck for work I noticed the truck was sluggish. Soon I was smelling brakes. I took it back to Levin and now they want another $800 to replace calipers. Over $1300 for rear brakes. So they didn't do the job right the first time but wanted me to pay all the labor over again. I could see parts. And maybe additional labor but not $800.00 I fixed the truck myself with 2 new calipers from Napa for a little over $200.00. That is a long way from $800.00 Will never use them again. I recently took my car in for tires and new brakes. As part of their multipoint inspection, they identified an oil pan leak, brake fluid was low and other maintenance issues that needed to be addressed. I appreciate their thoroughness and diligence in not charging for tasks I don't need. Ultimately I spent more than I wanted, however, I was not charged for new brakes as the current set was perfectly fine. Their techs flushed the brake system and replaced with new fluid. The car now runs smoother than I can ever remember! I would bring it back to them for all of my maintenance needs. read more

I reached out to Levin Tire Center on Saturday because there was an error message on my dashboard that read "Tire Flat visit dealership" Since the tire was flat, I was nervous about driving to the dealership which was a little further away so I called Levin. John was really nice on the phone and told me to bring in the car in. Mark delivered the bad news that I needed a new tire. They didn't have one in stock, but he called my dealership and found that they did have one. Mark had someone fill the tire with air so I'd be comfortable driving back home. He even told me I could bring my car in on my way to the dealership and they would fill the tire again since I was so nervous about driving it. I am so glad to know that GREAT customer service still exists. BTW... this was my first time visiting this business. read more

This is the 3rd time I've used their services and this one was a random flat tire that they repaired. I could have used a free repair service center that would have been a drive further from my house but convince usually wins for my personal choice. They are very nice and honest from my experience and will use them when it makes sense. read more

Excellent service for replacement of all four tires. Included alignment and they also did a courtesy check for me to make sure I did not need new tire sensors. They also checked my battery of which they showed me the results of it only running at 1% (bad cells). As everyone knows, I am a huge supporter of local businesses and after asking a new friend from the area where I should take my car for an oil change, I was sent the way of Levin Tire in Winfield. I love word of mouth referrals and always try out a local company vs. that corporate nationwide chain, and this applies to any industry. I called first to see if they would have time to get my oil change done and they said they had 2 others ahead of me but they could probably get me done before they close today. When I walked in, three men stood behind the counter, two talking amongst themselves and another on the phone with a customer, obviously. I stood there ignored for a few minutes before being acknowledged. I thought maybe the guy with a beard was a vendor dropping off a part but it turned out that he works here. He stood behind the computer monitor and said "hey". I peeked around to see him and tell him I needed an oil change. Asked me if I have been here before to which I informed him I have not. He mumbled something at me and then clarified that he wanted my first name, then my last and so on. He tried to upsell me some $13 additive to put in my vehicle to which I replied I would speak to my husband before the next time I get my oil changed. I hate when people try to upsell me stuff I don't need. I found the whole interaction (or lack thereof) to be very ignorant and rude. I work in customer service and first impressions are everything. This simply left a bad taste in my mouth. I almost just left but I really need an oil change so here I sit in their very nice & clean waiting area and write them the start to my review. I love that they have car shows on the History channel going on their TV in the lounge, a water cooler and some comfortable chairs. Seems like the other gentleman in the waiting area knows the guys whom work here very well. They chatted back and forth and were quite friendly amongst themselves but it seems you need to be from the area to be treated like family which is what I typically find when using local businesses for my service needs. I have to admit, I'm dressed in yoga pants with my hair up because I have been driving a moving truck all day and moving furniture so I'm not my clean cut professionally dressed self, but like I have learned in customer service for 20+ years, don't judge a book by its cover unless you know the whole story. They don't know that I pay attention to every little detail of my experience nor do they know that we have three vehicles that will all require service and maintenance now going forward since we have moved to this area. Thus far, I'm very disappointed with the overall customer service aspect. (just left...home now) After I saw my car come out from the bay, I grabbed my things and went up to the counter to wait for the young man to bring in my keys and paperwork so I could pay. I stood there and all conversation ceased. The young man, Matt, who was chatty as can be with the other gentleman in the waiting room didn't speak a word, the older gentleman entered in the paperwork details into their computer and I handed him the "welcome to the neighborhood" coupon I received in the mail and said "oh, and I have this too" and he didn't utter a word, simply took it. The only thing he said to me was my total and after handing me the paperwork, said "thank you. Have a good day." Which I was shocked to hear him say something friendly at that point. Car seems to be ok. No one went over with me what they did but it's all on the paperwork I'm assuming. Not sure if they rotated the tires, filled up my windshield washer fluid or anything, but since they clearly were already bothered with me, I certainly didn't want to ask any questions that would further inconvenience them. So put off, will not be returning, and after checking in, I received several texts and messages warning me not to let them talk me into anything. Sounds to me like this is a habit of theirs. Really sad because I would love to use a local spot close to our new home but I guess, I'll be going elsewhere in the future. Didn't feel welcome, definitely wasn't an experience I would want to endure again. Major bummer all around. Sadly, the manager's response to my negative review shows their complete ignorance to taking responsibility for their poor management. Putting the blame on me for their staff being crappy to me and welcoming to everyone else is my fault because I was playing a game on my phone to pass time. Such poor business practices here. I took my car in because it was making a noise I wanted to see where the noise was coming from, the man took my key's and took my car into service area never mentioned a price at all. Less than half hour later he came back told me the problem and charged me $145.00 to look at my car and a $3.00 "environmental" fee & a $10.88 "shop supply" fee for the rag he used.. Total bill of $158.88 for less than 1/2 hr. work and only just to dx the problem. I said if I would have known it was that much I would have never agreed to you looking at my car, he said he told us which he never did! When I went back today to confront them about the bill the man said there was a "miscommunication" but NEVER once said he would issue me a credit for some of the $158.00 he charged me!! They are scam artists there .. watch your back! NOT TRUSTWORTHY!! read more

Dropped blown out tire off Friday, left the car there Saturday and got it all back on Monday. Fixed the tire and oil change and inspect the brakes. Also replaced bad tire air pressure sensor. Fair price. Service is always friendly. BUT PLEASE take FOX news off the waiting room TV. A home repair channel or nature show would be better. Waiting area was very clean. read more

I came in for an oil change, AND spark plugs also to check and see what was causing my "door ajar" signals. After 4 hours, I was told that the door needed a module and that price would be $1,000. After going home I realized that the negligent attention given to my car (Lincoln Town Car), the plug the covered the screw in the door where they pulled to check the door problem was missing. I came back the next day and they put it back in. However, the preceding day, my car was totally drained of a battery that was only 4 months old. I called after the Labor Day (3-day long) weekend and complained that they had done something to damage my car and wanted a refund ($548.54); which they vehemently refused to do. After having my car towed to the dealership, it was noted that the battery was drained to about 40% of it power! The dealership mechanic noted that I DID NOT NEED SPARK PLUGS. So the suggestion that was given to me from my first visit there of needing spark plugs was a DELIBERATE MISREPRESENTATION of what was needed! Simply to foster up more money for them. Needless to say this is unethical and highly unprofessional, and because I'm a woman, they thought they could get away with this! I will file a report with the Better Business Bureau and suggest that all WOMEN STAY AWAY FROM LEVIN TIRE CENTER OF WINFIELD!!!!! They are SCAMMERS!! This place is horrible. Like they don't even deserve 1 star. Take your car ANYWHERE ELSE. I wanted an oil change. Sure, it was a premium oil change, but want to explain to me how it adds up to 119.12$? There was nothing else added in. It was literally the standard premium oil change. I thought I would attempt going someplace close by do my oil to save time going out of state. Literally everywhere else. Every. Where. Else. The top for this oil was 60$ at those places. All about paying for labor, but 59.00$ for labor costs and parts? ITS AN OIL FILTER IN 2008 MERCURY MILAN. And you know, I probably would have still got it had due to my rush had customer service not been so horrible. Literally from the moment I walked in, I was ignored a total of 6 times. It's an empty store. You're not on the phone. It shouldn't take 21 mins to finally ask if I want your product (or exact words; "So, what did you want?". Like jeeze. Okay. We have bought three sets of tires for our vehicles and try to keep the business in Winfield but after my husband going there this morning and wanting a tire patched, apparently we were bothering him he told us that the Perrelli tire we wanted patched was not patchable funny he went to Crownpoint levin and tire was no problem. Took a tire in to get fixed off the car, and they charged me $25 and it was flat again the next day.

Levin tire quoted motor rebuild for $6200. I was worried about a tire shop rebuilding it. I was convinced by sales guys that they could handle it. So I agreed they rebuilt took 3 weeks got car back every week for 4 weeks straight card was mis firing and burning oil. I took back to shop they would just keep adding oil and blaming on spark plugs coils etc. They charged me to replace so I did after that still burning oil and misfiring so they did compression test they stated it was a bad rebuild. They ordered another rebuild kit from company and rebuilt again same issue misfiring burning oil etc. They took to Mike Anderson and Mike Anderson said same thing bad rebuild. After 11 months they called and said they had to much time and were losing money on car. Matt T FROM marketing was very rude after 3 weeks he returned calls stating that was a big loss they will only pay if it is court orders. They offered me nothing but a loss of $6200 and my car back burning oil and misfiring I called levin tires corperate office and they stated it was alot of money to sue them and offered a free oil change. I mean honestly after misfiring and burning oil I don't think I will use them to change oil. Just say in. Mike Anderson said it's common for levin to take care there when they can not figure out problems and they hate touching cars after levin messes up. Both my husband and I work full time, with little time available after work. When my husbands car started making an ungodly clunk, I called Levin Tire on a Friday to see if they could do anything, quick since we have no weekday free time. Kevin was very informative and told us to arrive the next morning. We arrived at 7:30 and worked with Matt who quickly told us the issue (shot struts) and that it could be fixed that day!
