I stopped by because something punctured my back passenger tire while I was driving in Munster. I am so glad this place is open on Sundays! My tire would not have made it to Monday since I was losing air fast in it. There were only a few people ahead of me, which was nice. The guy at the counter was really nice and helped me check in. I've never had my car serviced here, but the manager, Jerry, was incredibly helpful in correcting a mistake made by another shop. I needed a new tire before driving from Maryland to Illinois and went to a Mr. Tire in Maryland, which is under the same parent company as Tire Barn Warehouse. Unfortunately, Mr. Tire put the wrong size tire on my car and refused to issue a refund when I discovered the mistake after my 10-hour road trip home. Since I couldn't return the original tire, I tried contacting the parent company's (Monro) customer service multiple times without success. Eventually, I called this location and explained my situation to Jerry. He assured me he would order the correct tire and replace it without any additional charges. 4 April 2024 update. Picked up a used car (2011) for my daughter. Tires still had tread, but the tire date was 4318 - six years old. Called Tire Barn, having learned that the web site is pretty inaccurate, discussed tires and when they would arrive. Went in in around 5 pm, expecting a long line and was pleasantly surprised. The spare was the original unused spare - 13 years old, and they replaced that too. Very pleased with staff and service. read more

My brand new car was sitting in my driveway for about 5 months I would just warm it up every few days then I got a report that all 4 tires were 5 lbs off air pressure so I drive to brand new gas station Casey's on Sunday by cabela's and oh my goodness it's like 1.75 says 5 minutes to use and as I started airing the first tire I could not get it aired up in time, just one!!! The machine starts putting air then stops starts stops starts and I don't understand why has to delay it's using but after I could not get one tire aired up for 1.75 I decided to google tire air for car and tire barn popped up as being open Sunday I drove there explained the situation to a worker there he laughed and said pull your car up here and with in 5 minutes he had me ready to go!! I've taken my personal vehicle and several work vehicles here. Good location and the customer service is always friendly. Wait times are decent most times, though on occasion I've been stuck here for anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour after they said the vehicle would be done. Not too thrilled about that but, it happens. Places get busy or whatever else. Pricing is pretty average, some of our work truck tires are as low as $90 a piece which... for a truck tire is pretty cheap. All 4 installed on a Sierra were about $450 or so. My personal vehicle 215/55/R17 tires by Hankook was a little under $600 installed, not too bad, tires alone were about $120 each. The waiting area is clean with, good pile of magazines to go through and peruse and a tv playing whatever happens to be on. In the end, it's just a tire place... nothin super special but, prices are good, wait times are decent and front employees are generally friendly. read more

We took our car to this shop to have a tire patched the on July 23. The next morning walked out to a flat we filled it went back and the wait was over 4 hours decide to leave and return on a later date. We returned a few days later after using our air pump in the mornings to fill the tire and then after work to fill to get home. When they looked at the patch the told us the patch held it was because we had corrosion on our rim that is why it was leaking and we would need to buy a new tire. We decided to go elsewhere. When we got to the other tire store we were told the damage wasn't due to corrosion but from the last tech he Mangled the inside of the tire at the bead. So instead of tire barn fixing their employees mistake they tried to blame a rim. When called and confronted about it the manager tried to over talk me and was very rude. Just know you go here they will do anything they can to lie to your face don't waste your time avoid this place at all cost . Won't own up to damage they do and wait times aren't anywhere near what the tell you add at least 2 hours. read more

Posting this review cause once again, Tire Barn over torqued the tires and stripped the studs. Was getting a tire rotation and the lug nuts wouldn't come off. Back tire locked up and the car won't move now. Had to get the car towed and it's going to cost me $890 for the repair which is totally Tire Barns fault. Second time they damaged the lug nuts and studs on this car. Won't be using them again. They may be the cheapest in the area but it's because their mechanics don't car about the quality of their work. read more

I used to like this place until this week. I made an online appointment to buy 4 tires and have them installed. Even though my appointment was confirmed on the computer I received a call that they didn't have the tires in stock but would get them, call me and install them the next day. I called late the following day to check and they still didn't have the tires and would call me the next day. That call never came either. I'm surprised that they weren't interested in selling and installing 4 tires. I'll have them done by a competitor. They did call today with a nice apology. read more

Had to give it a 1 because Yelp doesn't 0 to -5 stars to post a review! My husband had a slow leak in the right front tire of his Ford F150. After using his compressor for a few days, I unfortunately suggested he take it here to get fixed and price out a set of new tires while he waited since He'll need a full set in a couple months. It was a Sunday (Mother's Day) and they were open. He agreed to get it taken care of and went to Tire Barn on Indianapolis on RT 41 in Highland. They did not know how to remove the tire to repair it and destroyed his tire pressure sensor, which the guy pulled out because he thought that was the cause of the leak!!! He told them to put the spare on but they already had the original tire mounted back on, minus any repairs. The condition of the tire was far worse. There was a major cut at the rim and several dents where they attempted to remove the tire. He again told them to put the spare on and by this time, he was livid. They were extremely arrogant and had a very condescending attitude. He walked into the shop only to find the person working on his vehicle, trying to figure out how to get the spare! He told him to put the original on because he couldn't get out of there soon enough! He was able to get the 3 miles home, but was totally flat when he got here, thanks to the cut they put in the rim. This place is not what it used to be and I will NEVER GO TO TIRE BARN AGAIN! From now on, I will make sure to check for updated reviews first!! read more

I never use this app but this place is AWFUL! My friends Monte Carlo was set on fire there and had to sue for damages. She won. Then when I took my car in they didn't put the wheels on all the way. I drive on the highway to work and god forbid it could have flown off, crashed, and i could have been injured or died. Y'all suck and need better workers who actually care. read more

Well, I'm sorry to have to leave such a bad rating for Tire Barn. I called them after they installed tires on my daughters car a few years ago. Her tires needed rotating and I offered to do it when she was home for the holiday. To my surprise, they stripped the threads on the lug nut and I couldn't get it off without breaking it. I called the shop and they were not very helpful. I have the receipt for the work. The tires have not been touched since we were at the shop. The guy I spoke to was less than helpful and offered no apology, advice or solutions. Bottom line, get a price quote from them and take it to a dealer where they have professional who install their tires. read more

I may not have the newest or most beautiful car, but my husband and I work hard to pay for what we have. I arrived for a new set of 4 tires with a full set of matching, stock hubcaps on my car. I even added the protection plan, a cost we hadn't budgeted but seemed well worth it. I also asked for the best of the old tires to be placed in my trunk. When I was informed that my car was ready, I immediately went to the trunk to check for the tire, which wasn't there. I didn't even look at my new tires, went back inside and politely reminded the person at the desk of my request. The tire was in my trunk within a few minutes, and I drove the car home. When I got home, I then noticed that both of the hubcaps on the driver's side were missing. I immediately called Tire Barn and after "checking", they said they must have fallen off and if I find them on the roadside, they'd put them on for me. Or, if I can't find them and if I wanted to purchase 2 new ones and provide a receipt, I could get a check back from the corporate office in a couple weeks. Firstly, HOW can I feel secure that my tires have been properly installed if those who installed them couldn't even properly replace plastic, snap - on hubcaps? Secondly, my car is 8 years old, and these were stock hubcaps. I called Nissan and they estimated the cost between $55-$100 each. Thirdly, I don't have it in my budget to spend up to an extra $200 on hubcaps after just spending $350 on tires that I had to save up for. Fourthly, Nissan wasn't even 100% sure they had the exact same style. I decided to call corporate, because I was upset at the fact that I was not going to get my hubcaps replaced unless I hunted them down at a junk yard or skirted some of my other bills for a couple weeks while waiting for reimbursement. And what if I couldn't find the matching ones? They were only willing to pay for 2 hubcaps, and I only wanted a matching set, even if they were not original. By the time I called corporate, they were gone for the day so I left a very detailed message. Nearly 24 hours later my call was still not returned, so I called corporate again. The woman I spoke with was curt, not very concerned with my problem. She informed me that the offer to reimburse after proof of purchase is what they typically would do. She said they did it that way because they need to know that I actually purchased hubcaps with the money (this honestly shouldn't even be a reason for required proof of purchase - they caused MY BELONGINGS to no longer be in MY POSSESSION, I should be compensated accordingly, and whether I decided to replace them or keep the money as compensation for my lost items should be at my discretion). I was told that they needed to speak with the marketing manager for the area and that I'd hear back within a couple days. The next day, I received a message that I should call the marketing manager directly and I was provided with his cell phone number. After speaking with him, he said he would try to find matching replacements after seeing a picture of my originals. Shortly after sending the picture, he texted that he found them and that I could pick them up at the location I purchased my tires at the end of the week. Aside from a telephone conversation that lasted less than 2 minutes, this entire exchange happened via text. Today my husband accompanied me because he wanted to put them on himself. He also was very displeased at the fact that our tire pressure monitoring system was removed for being "damaged", as they were working before just fine. Still not sure about that issue, so even though it seemed shady I'm not even basing my review on that part of my experience. Nobody that works there even seemed bothered or surprised by the incompetence. I got one, single apology via text from their "customer service" staff, and when my husband insisted on placing the new hubcaps on the car himself, and questioned the $120 TPMS repair we are still looking at, he was greeted with an attitude from the employee at the store. My 40 minute, $350 tire replacement became several phone calls, 2 more trips to their store, hours of my time, and a source of stress and embarrassment. Took the wife's 4runner in to have the tires rotated and balanced. Once the vehicle was taken inside the shop it took an hour and 40 minutes to rotate and balance 4 tires which is ridiculous. Every time I looked at the shop the guy working on her vehicle was either standing out front smoking a cigarette or standing in the corner talkin with someone on the phone. I have been a happy customer for over 10 yrs. I buy top line Michelin tires and prices are very good. Service has always been very good. I commute to the dirty city of chicago so I buy road hazard protection. When one of the cars had leak I went to this shop for repair. They told me the tire was 10 years old and refused to repair it.They said it was past its tire life. I had never heard this or probably had a 10yr old tire. Thinking there could be other catches to the tire life definition. I questioned the road hazard coverage I regularly purchase . I got them to tell road hazard coverage was only good for 3 years. After past jobs in the tire and auto industry I found it odd I never heard this.I don't think I forgot , I know they don't share this until it's to late. Don't get taken. read more

I have only ever taken my car here for tire replacement and repairs the last few years. They are always efficient and quick, HOWEVER, this last time...they absolutely when above and beyond what they ever needed to do. Specifically Andy! I came in for a tire replacement of a flat I got. Andy did a inspection of the all the tires before we were to discuss what tire I should get and prices etc. Upon his review he noticed I had 2 different size rims on my car, which is potentially very dangerous and could lead to costly repairs. I had no idea of this! It went 2 years unnoticed because it was sold to me brand new in this condition! (it took a few days for me to get to the bottom of that, but that is actually what happened.) This was exactly what Andy's theory was right away, but I wasn't sure until 2 days later when I found picture evidence from the day I bought the car....Now part o the reason it went unnoticed, is because I do not know much about cars, especially rims and tires. He explained absolutely everything so that when I went down the street to the dealer to make my claim, I knew what I was talking about. It helped me immensely so that I could not be brushed off by the dealers. BUT IT DOESN'T END HERE! Andy, kept in touch with me and went out of his way again to help me find replacement rim quotes and even referred me to a friend of his who owns another business. He made calls for me, he kept in touch with me, he encouraged me and empowered me to keep at it and not give up because It was not right! #1: This shows what kind of business Tire Barn is, and the kind of people they are hiring, says a lot about a business! #2: Andy is not only a very knowledgeable employee there, but a good honest person who cared about mine and my families safety and well being.
