Tonight Doc got us reservations for a Speakeasy Mystery Crawl in Nashville. The COLD night air confirmed I better buy a black coat to match the new black dress since they have a dress code. Thankfully I found a bedazzled light weight black coat for $30, bling earrings and a ring to get into the mood for this evening's 7:30 pm event. This shop did not have that musty smell like Goodwill or Savers. We'd shop for music or Big Sky bears ages ago but not clothes. I think watching Twilight Zone in my school age years gave me the Willie's of wearing someone else's clothes. Hub's aunty even told them she had nightmares with her own mom's clothes when she passed. Hopefully the one sage bundle i saw in the shop will be cleansing enough with my purchases. Hubs stayed in the car with Grandpup and Doc decided to go next door and treated us to coffee. There were 4 customers in the store and 3 employees, but all of the employees were just chit chatting behind the counter. Disappointing experience to be honest. The owner noticed and kindly offered to take our photo. Not only did she take several pictures, but when I asked if she would take a few more, she happily obliged without hesitation. Once inside, we found a beautifully curated shop filled with unique treasures. I was especially drawn to the collection of copper bells and ornaments, as I enjoy hanging pieces like these in the tree in our backyard. The owner took the time to chat with us, asking where we were from, what brought us to Nashville, and what we had planned during our stay. She shared thoughtful recommendations for local shops, restaurants, and experiences that only a true local would know. When I mentioned that I planned to hang the copper bells outdoors, she even recommended a protective coating to help preserve them from the elements. It was clear that she genuinely cared about helping her customers enjoy their purchases long after they left the store. Her attention to detail continued through the checkout process. She carefully wrapped the bells to protect them and minimize noise during our travels. She even walked across the alley to another shop to get us a sturdier bag because she felt it would be better suited for carrying our purchases than the bags she had on hand. The moment that truly sealed the experience came when a heavy rainstorm rolled in as we were leaving. Without a second thought, she offered us her personal umbrella and simply trusted us to bring it back when we were done. In a world where customer service often feels transactional, this was something special. However, I was able to come in today and came to the bar. It was a little confusing at first on where to order since it's on the same area as the retail checkout counter. You order on the left side of the bar just an FYI! I decided on the minty matcha which already comes with oat milk (I love that!). And some of the other matcha options come with coconut milk which is also awesome. The prices were good and they also serve some food items, which I wasn't expecting since it's in a clothing store! The matcha came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. It was strong and slightly sweet but not overly so. I really enjoyed it! I'm excited to come back and try more items so I can hopefully give them a higher score once I've tried some food and coffee on future visits!
