Loved the aesthetics. The staff were kind and willing to help. After eating at Bar Taco, we stopped by to take a look. They were having a large sale in the back. Lots of cool shirts and inside the store had good quality made clothing and items.

After drowning in the sea of attempted online retail fitting, my good friend Sam and I decided to take the plunge, skip the BS, and make a road trip to Nashville specifically to visit Imogene+Willie. After a roughly 5.5hr drive from Columbus, we arrived in a beautiful neighborhood blossoming with food, drink, merriment and fine retail. The mark was true, and in we walked to an excellently curated and decorated old service station, repurposed as I+W. We we're greeted immediately by friendly staff who made short work of exhibiting their complete competence. We all set about the task of selecting pieces perfect for our persons, got fitted, delighted in friendly banter, and found ourselves recognizing that we had indeed found something special. I personally had a pair of jeans I had misordered online that I needed tapered, and after a thoughtful review by the in-house tailor, Kelsey (spelling?), I was pinned in, and feeling really optimistic about where these jeans would be headed next. another two fresh pairs were picked out and while one was pre-hemmed to a good size, the other needed some adjusting. None to worry, a few flips, a pin or two, and those were already in the back and done before I knew it. It's rare to receive such service and to have such a good time in retail these days. Most people don't know or care, and it's hard to walk out of any place genuinely satisfied... Until I met the fine folks of I+W. Do yourself the favor. Support this great group of people and their amazing clothing. As for us, we're lifelong fans. We WILL be back. -M

Aesthetically pleasing, but there's honestly not much here. I came here after reading a number of reviews saying that there was so much high-quality merchandise, but aside from the jeans all I saw was a few paper-thin shirts. I do not associate paper thin shirts with quality; one sneeze or a calm breeze could have ripped all those shirts in half. The jeans were alright. I didn't see much of a selection for tall people, and the employees here were terribly unhelpful. I generally enjoy when people leave me alone to do my shopping, but this place was dead empty and no matter how hard I tried I could not get anyone to help me.

The patterns hanging make me so happy. That classic tailored made style is always in fashion.

This was a new brand to us all together and we loved the fabrics and the styles. My husband walked away with two shirts and a jacket. All of the materials are super soft (like buttery), no-iron and cuts are ready-to-wear off the shelf and look perfect on my husband. Although there are a few "cuts/styles" of let's say shirts, they are athletically cut and tailored, but off the shelf...there is definitely a market for this concept and I think State and Liberty looks to play a roll. We brought everything back to Vegas and my husband just wore the jacket today...he looked cool, classy, original and a bit baller I might say! Grace. What a great spirit of the State and Liberty brand working at this location here in Nashville. Thank you Grace for all of your help with my husband's purchases and the thoughtful time you spent with us to understand the brand, clothing and materials. Grace was excellent in her customer service. She made us feel welcome, she was relaxed in working with my husband on styles, she was knowledgeable of the brand and she made us feel good about our purchase. We loved everything about visiting this store and look forward to making future purchases from the brand in the future.

So when it came time for him to buy his very own tuxedo for our wedding, he was psyched... honestly more excited than I was about dress shopping. Basically, buying a tuxedo comes down to two options (like any suit really): off the rack or custom made. There are two reasons why you would choose to have a suit custom made. One is that you have a funky figure or size and off the rack clothes don't fit you. The other is that you are incredibly picky. Guess which camp my husband fits in? Right, the second. He looked at Levy's, which had a large off the rack selection and he decided that the choices were not ACTUAL tuxedos but really suits pretending to be tuxedos. They had pseudo-custom but it didn't allow him to truly follow the tuxedo rule book. In steps J. Michaels. J Michaels might be the worst thing to ever happen to our checking account. My husband has found an oasis where he can make every single decision about the clothes he buys. His tuxedo is his favorite outfit. He got to choose everything and I mean everything: shape of the color, fabric of collar, fabric and grain of jacket, lining, length, width, how many pleats did you want, Sir? He had a wonderful experience. He brought along his brother to help and the next weekend they went back so his brother could order one too. They both looked amazing on our wedding day and I credit that to the good fits they got at J. Michaels. In addition to catering to the funky sized and super picky, they do sell off the rack clothes. It's a full service establishment, they will even help you learn to tie your bow tie. If suits are your thing and you enjoy being picky, this is your kind of place and I would strongly suggest you make an afternoon of it.

And when I looked online I would see pictures of the brand's stores...charming, and beautifully designed. The Nashville store is so cute and it's on a really lovely tree lined street with older classic brick houses and just a few choice shops and cafes. When you walk in the store it's cozy but very airy and there's a women's and men's section. The salesman Joel was so nice and offered me a glass of wine or water and just let me basically look at what I wanted and then brought whatever I wanted to the dressing room. They weren't pushy at all and I bought the most beautiful shirt. You'll find pieces here that you won't find in the department stores that normally carry Billy Reid. The store is just a 20 minute walk from the stores at the Gulch. When I walked over I was wearing a jacket because it had been raining but it got quite warm (the humidity). So when I went in the store, which was so nice and cool, I took off my jacket. The salesman took my jacket and nicely hung it up on a hanger. When I purchased my shirt, he beautifully folded up my jacket and put it alongside my new shirt in the bag. So nice! Fantastic service and I will come back here in a heartbeat. Yes the price is a bit high but a lot of the pieces are made in Italy, and the quality is great....you'll find pieces here that you won't find in any of the department stores that carry Billy Reid.

Besides my personal opinion, it should be duly noted that since my last review, Mr. Reid was bestowed the incredible honor of being awarded the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. For those who don't follow the Fashion industry like it's their Fantasy Football league... this is a MASSIVE deal. Some say it's practically the Oscars or ahem, Super Bowl of this very particular industry. I am proud that a Southern designer (he hails from Alabama) conquered! With current collaborations with K-Swiss and J Crew, this brand is certainly on the rise! With that being said, Billy has just 6 retail locations so it is quite fantastic that we have one in the Hill Center. I was seduced my an up to 70% off sign when I was skipping around and couldn't pass up the stellar deals. My eyes were enticed by the Classic Peacoat in a natural shade which was regularly priced at $495 but I was able to snatch it up for $150! What. A. Deal. Consider that this piece will never go out of style so event at the original price tag, there is a ton of value for the amount of wear this classic will get! Billy's collection is one that will only get better with wear and tear. My love affair didn't just stop there. I couldn't help but notice a mighty fine pair of high waisted and wide bottomed black trousers referred to as the Heirloom ($265). Pants are always a tougher purchase for me especially due to my short inseam but with the assistance of a staffer who pinned my new pants and a $12 alteration fee (inexpensive), I am now the owner of a gorgeous pair of trousers that make me feel like a million bucks. Lastly, the staff were just a delight from the moment that I originally came in over the weekend to browse when they offered to put the peacoat on hold until I could make a choice on what color I preferred to the nice lad who was literally on the floor pinning my pants for alteration today. TIP: If you love Levis, Billy Reid will start carrying certain styles of this other classic at this location in just a couple of weeks!

We saw Sam's while walking back to our hotel and decided to pop in hoping to find a shirt for my husband. I was then guided by this incredible person to a 3-way mirror to "experience the magic" that they were seeing. WOW!! It was like it was made for me. I felt like a bride because we were both just so amazed how perfect it was. This is the kind of magic you see someone with the star power of like Brandi Carlile wearing at the Grammy's. What had prior to 2021 been the abandoned Nashville Convention Center is now a modern mixed use development that has brought life into Broadway west of the "Honkey Tonk Highway" stretch. It features a shopping mall, Assembly Food Hall, a retail scape fronting Broadway, The Place at Fifth, the National Museum of African American Music, and the towering landmark 501 Commerce Street Building. It has brought an Apple Store, Sephora, Shake Shack, Hattie B's, Prince's Chicken, and more to Broadway. On my vacation, I had caught it's act several times. The one sight that always stood out was the consistent long line to Hattie B's. My visits here included Assembly Food Hall, Prince's Fried Chicken, the Twelve Thirty Club, visit the Apple Store, and walk around. My impression was that the stores and restaurants are reasonably priced. Although the restaurants and stores provide decent value, to me the greatest value here was the photo opportunities. The focal point of the development, the L-shaped mall which bridges Broadway with Rep. John Lewis Way gives the gift of a prime photo spot for the 1) Ryman Auditorium where the original Grand Ol Opry performed and 2) Bridgestone Arena. The restaurants, especially in the Assembly Hall provide an opportunity to photograph food. I recommend the Assembly Food Hall Bridge to photograp the historic Ryman Auditorium. Additionally , I learned that if I stood on Broadway by the Bridgestone Arena, that Fifth Plus Broadway made a dynamic photo showing modern and historic Broadway, with the modern Fifth Plus Broadway architecture including towers contrasting with the historic Honkey Tonk Highway streetscape. As far as safety, I felt safe. The one annoyance that I saw were street hustlers at the Rep. John Lewis Way entrance aggressively bothering passer-by. During all of my visits here it was busy. There is a safety in numbers. On the subject of safety, the hot and humid summers need to be taken into account. On a few occasions we had escaped the excruciating heat in the air conditioned Assembly Food Hall for a couple of hours. I rate Fifth Plus Broadway "Four Stars." It is doing a remarkable job extending the lively Broadway restaurant and entertainment scene beyond the western edge of the Honkey Tonk Highway.
