I have never been so insulted in my life. I have never been questioned like this before. I had 1 1/2 glasses of wine. And a horrible soggy pizza. i am 75 years old and when leaving I slipped on the ice outside the restaurant door. The new owner came out and laughed at me. My waitress called 911 and I spent the night in the hospital. All my blood work was fine and I was no way impaired. To question me in public is an insult. Do no eat their horrible pizza and don't go to Sandy's Kitchen either because they own that too. Came here to try out their pizza to see how it compares to Famoso, which is my favourite pizzeria around the KW region. It turns out their style of pizza is a little bit different from those at Famoso. Instead of the round Neapolitan pizza you see at Famoso, their pizza somewhat resembles flatbreads. We ordered the Funghi pizza and Affumicato pizza, both in small size. They tasted really good, as the dough was soft and a little bit crispy and I loved how the toppings taste on the pizza. The prices are on the higher end at around $10 for the small, which wouldn't have made me full if I was really hungry that day. The restaurant environment is quite nice and great for having a get together from friends and family. Since it's located at more of a residential neighbourhood outside of the universities, you tend to see more families around. This sooooo hits the spot. We had a long day of traveling and just checked into our hotel nearby. We desperately wanted some pasta and during COVID, so many places didn't take orders past a certain time. There's a Levetto back home and so I knew it would be a solid choice. They definitely keep consistency with their pastas. I ordered carbonara and the pistachio fungi pasta to share with my boyfriend. Carbonara was out of this world, but the pistachio fungi pasta needs more sauce. We also ordered their arugula salad and oh man was it delicious!!! Bright vinaigrette with a good mix of goat cheese, apricots, and toasted almonds. I think I could order that as a meal and be totally satisfied. Unfortunately, I can't say how the food was because even though their website says they are open on Monday, their hours on Yelp says they are open on Monday, they put a small sign in the door when you drive there that says they changed their hours for the winter. They are NOT open on Monday. If you call, they don't say they are closed, they say leave a message and we will call you back. If you do happen to listen to their whole message, it will eventually let you know that all of their posted hours are incorrect. Updating a website should take seconds. Keeping yelp informed of accurate hours shouldn't be hard. A modern voicemail can be automated to simply say "we are closed " when they are truly closed. If they care so little about those things, how much do they care about the food. Be better! read more

Glad that we came on a Tuesday since I heard that this place usually gets really busy! Between the 2 of us, we ordered 2 pasta dishes + 1 large pizza to share. Although I ended up packing half of my pasta home, I did enjoy every single bit of the dishes! We should've probably ordered a small pizza to share instead. I ordered the Truffle Cavetelli and my friend ordered the Beef Ragu. I actually liked his more in terms of the sauce (it was more saucy and tasty), whereas mine was creamier but slightly drier. Really great place to come to if you want quality pasta for a reasonable price. I had the carbonara ($15)- the pasta was cooked to the perfect consistency and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. One of my pet peeves is when food isn't super hot when it is served... definitely not the case here. The food arrives as soon as it's done cooking. The restaurant was small, more suitable for a cafe but there is outdoor patio seating. It was cute and low key and I liked the vibes sitting inside. The prices were extremely reasonable compared to other places you could get pasta like East sides or Boston pizza. I would definitely come again, I'm looking forward to trying the beef ragu. We were here a few weeks ago. We were a party of 4, so we initially ordered 4 pizzas to share. Funghi - It was fantastic. It was postobello, oyster and cremini mushrooms with mascarpone cheese and roasted garlic crema. It was heavenly. Pollo Toscano - It was fantastic too. Seasoned chicken breast, tomato pesto, fior di latte, sundried tomato and fresh basil. Verde - It was great too. Basil pesto, cherry tomato, caramalized onion, baby spinach, radicchio and fior di latte. I would prefer Pollo Toscano or Funghi pizza over this however this made great addition. Patate - It was terrible. We only had half portion of a single slice and shared it amongst us, we didn't need more to be convinced that ordering it was a big mistake. Having loved potato pizza in Rome and knowing how tasty pizza at Levetto is; we expected something similar but it was a let down. We finished four(well actually three for the fact that nobody ate potato pizza) personal sized pizzas we were still hungry. So we ordered one more funghi pizza and loved every bite of it again. Service was sub-par. There were only two tables occupied initially and they left too shortly so we were the only party in the restaurant for the most part but we weren't looked after at all other than dropping the pizza at our table and bringing the bill later. No water refills; no asking if we liked everything or we need anything else; when we told we didn't like the pizza at all and hence didn't eat it, no offer of taking it off the bill or expressing concern. Pure indifference. I loved levetto and would keep on visiting them whenever I'm near one. Some may say that it isn't authentic Italian, but it is very tasty. I would urge you to give your taste-buds a chance, don'y worry too much about the service. The service has been so much better at other levetto locations we have visited. read more

Levetto makes their own pasta and its delicious! Its also super affordable, around $10 for a giant bowl of pasta! I really wish I learned about this place earlier during my undergrad, I would've come here way more often. Really like their Carbonara pasta and Pomodoro pasta (add italian sausage for an extra $3.. definitely worth it!). Their pizza is really good too, the crust is crisp and airy. Overall, a 4 star: 4 for food but only 3 for service. Nice atmosphere for a small neighbourhood place and excellent food. In good weather the patio would be your best option. The four of us all had pizza but the pasta options also looked excellent. My son and I chose to split a large Smoked Prosciutto (prosciutto, sweet medjool date sauce, fresh arugula and toasted almonds) . The flavours were excellent, but the volume of arugula was excessive and made it hard to eat. In the end, we just removed most of the arugula rather than have it fall all over the place while we tried to pick up slices to eat. My wife chose a medium Pollo Toscano (chicken breast, tomato pesto, red onion, sundried tomato and fresh basil). My daughter selected a medium Patate (Yukon gold potato, sliced green onion, fresh rosemary, ricotta, white truffle oil and grana padano). Both were quite satisfied with the results. The problem for the night was the lack of attention from the server. She was pleasant and didn't seem to be overly busy, but we had to ask for water multiple times. In general, for an early sitting, the service was slow. We were going to a movie but had about 90 minutes and didn't think that would be a rush ... at least not until it took 50 minutes for the pizzas to arrive. Good think the portions were generous and we didn't want desert since we didn't have time for it! The biggest issue was that we were rushed in leaving and while I checked the items on the bill, I did not check the prices. After our movie my wife commented that despite the slow service she "would go back" and inquired about what the total cost was. When I told her, she immediately told me the bill was wrong. When we got home I pulled out the invoice and confirmed we were charged for 3 large pizzas instead of 1 large and 2 medium. With tax and tip, that was an overcharge of about $35. Wow wow wow - this place is definitely a hidden gem in the Waterloo region for the fresh pasta they make. The seating is limited as its a smaller place but that fresh pasta that they make is definitely noticeable when you bite into it. You can see them cook (I suppose if you sit at the bar area) and how they make the pasta. I always get the carbonara pasta and the menu pricing is very reasonable. Though it is a little farther away and it is a place you'll only get to best if you have a car, this is worth a try for those students or locals that have a good taste for Italian food. read more

First of all, it's not really Italian (a previous review called it "the best Italian in the area"). It's somebody trying to be creative with an Italian theme. This is definitely not real Italian. (Having worked long-term in to several times) As for my review, to be fair,I rounded down. I give this place 2 1/2 stars. That said, I wouldn't go back there again. The food was surprisingly bland, I had a carbonara, with "spicy" Italian sausage, and my colleagues had pizza and the other one had a some sort of pasta dish... and quite frankly nobody was impressed. The food was as mentioned fairly bland, and even in my case the addition of red pepper and black pepper it didn't help that much The restaurant itself was nice, it was clean and a very pleasant environment. Although not huge, and the service was fine. In all fairness it may just be that all three of us are Americans and we're simply not used to the consistently bland food here in Canada, so maybe for the Canadian pallet this place is great, but I will not go back. read more

I love it here! Their food, space, atmosphere is something to LOVE. Pasta dishes I always get the Bucatini or Cabanera, and those two are my favourite because they cook it perfectly for around $10. Its good sauce, good al dente pasta, excellent portions. The fungi pizza was delicious, I wish I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner The staff are also incredibly kind, and I always feel welcome when i'm there. The panne cotta was REALLY GOOD. for somethign I have never had, I feel like they did it just right. Be careful though, saturday nights are busy and they take reservations, if you dont make one, you may have to wait 30min or more. My boyfriend and I came here on a Friday night. The place was pretty busy when we arrived, so we were asked if we were okay with a seat at the bar. The bar gave a great view of the kitchen and it was fun to see the pizza and pasta being made right in front of us, which also helped us choose what we wanted to eat. There was a tornado warning in St. Jacob's, and a huge storm that came with it so the place emptied and never refilled once the rain and lightning started. However, even with a lack of patrons, the service was slow and subpar. We sat for about 15 minutes before even being acknowledged or asked for our drink orders. Once we did finally get the attention of a server, we received excellent service with frequent drink refills and check-ins. I had the carbonara and absolutely loved it. It was well seasoned and extremely tasty. My boyfriend had the bucatini and while initially worrying that the pasta was way undercooked, we were assured that it was al-dente and informed that we could have the dish with different pasta noodles the next time that we came. Overall, a very tasty meal. We didn't exactly want to leave the restaurant right away as it was pouring rain outside, so we decided to order a dessert. I'm a bit of a pasta snob and rarely eat it out, as it never seems to be cooked properly. I'm definitely a fan of al dente, and this pasta was right on the money. The sauce was excellent and not overpowering as some can be when they go to town on the garlic. The pizza was great, and very reasonable in price. We went opening night. The owners were there to greet everyone and make sure they understood the concept of the restaurant. They were very pleasant and seemed very enthusiastic and engaged. Stepping into the restaurant, you're greeted by a few iPads propped up on a counter by the checkout station where you or your server can place your order. At that point, you immediately realize this isn't your typical cookie-cutter restaurant. In speaking with the owners, they mentioned that the concept was sort of like a fast food pasta joint. On paper...sounds horrible. In reality...couldn't be further from the truth. This is, quite honestly, some of the most amazing pasta dishes I have ever had. Everything is cooked fresh and the taste reflects that. The dishes are unique and traditional at the same time. I have yet to try the flatbread pizzas, but they looked and smelled amazing. The restaurant itself is pretty small, but they do take-out orders. The atmosphere is simple and open concept, but trendy and modern and they even have a few screens up to catch a game. The service is excellent and the wait-staff and chef are always very friendly and attentive. One of it's best features, however, is that fact that it is in a brand new, upscale neighbourhood in Carriage Crossing behind the Manulife Athletic Complex soccer fields and Grey Silo Golf Course. But it is not overly pretentious.The restaurant itself actually backs onto the fields so you can watch a live game while you're there. Although it wasn't licensed opening night, they mentioned that they will be in the near future once all legalities are worked out. They also make fresh specialty coffees.
