Food quality was 4.5 stars and service was just average (server had to ask us to repeat our orders several time). This place offered larger than average plates for everything, so we over ordered for our dinner. We ordered two appetizers to start with and they gave us yummy bread prior to serving the dishes. The housemade butter was really good, soft and flavourful. The beet salad was refreshing. I especially liked the mushroom on toast. This dish was so creamy and the wild mushroom tasted so fresh. This was my favorite appetizer here. Strongly recommend this dish. For mains, we ordered the short rib, the ravioli, the salmon with risotto and the chicken. I didn't try the short rib. For other dishes, my favourite was the salmon. It was cooked just alright and I really liked the risotto even though I generally don't eat risotto. The chicken was seasoned well, but the spinach along with it was a bit bitter to my taste. I didn't like the ravioli. It was a bit dry, but the shrimp in the dish tasted flavourful and fresh. There wasn't too much service during our meal, but the food quality and portion was very decent. We were very satisfied with our dinner experience here.

Everyone who arrived after us got food - we did not! Most horrible service and dining experience ever! Fire the manager! To cap it all off, I ended up getting food poisoning from their VEAL MARSALA.

Food is awful. Worst…read more'Margherita' pizza and chicken parm I've ever had which comes with penne a la vodka...and bacon??? Went back and checked the menu, attached, and there's no bacon mentioned. Having not eaten pork for more than a decade this came as very awful surprise after having eaten some of it. Penne a la vodka references the noodle and sauce type, if you're going to embellish it with pork it's a very good idea to indicate this in the menu. Very not cool. Aside from being extraordinarily upset about this, it actually wasn't any good. The pasta was overcooked, way too soft. The chicken parm was tough. The pizza had no sauce and was made with a garbage store bought crust. Cherry tomatoes just dropped on top, didn't even seem cooked, never mind blistered. Could've made this in an Easy Bake Oven, was so cold. Have no idea how this place stays un business. Food was worse than something from a frozen food aisle, same pizza crust.

We had the Truffled Mushroom Risotto (5/5) and the Prime Striploin (5/5), as well as tiramisu and creme brulee for dessert. Truffled Musshroom Risotto had shavings of the wild mushrooms. The dish had the rich aroma of the truffles which we delightfully indulged ourselves with. I highly recommend ordering this dish because no other place makes it quite like Via Allegro. Prime Striploin was cooked to perfection. It was so tender and juicy. We liked how they didn't have it with any gravy, letting their culinary technique with the steak speaks for itself. The potatoes were nice and crispy on the outside, yet smooth on the inside. The vegetables were cooked nicely. The desserts were satisfying, a great way to finish off our meals. I would come back again. Highly recommend this place for celebrating special occasions and/or to satisfy your cravings for Italian dishes.
