I can't compliment enough about this gym and the people that comprise it. I have been out of crossfit and consistent lifting for 4 years and decided to get back in shape. From the minute I walked in to see if CrossFit Full Armor was a good fit, I felt greeted and welcomed, and received first class training based on where I was at fitness-wise. I was given a clear path to where I want to go and how to get there. Eric is a top tier trainer and coach and I value his genuine positivity, encouragement and ability to lead a class while providing one-on-one personalized pointers. Case and point, I got several stitches in my shoulder blade and wrote off being able to complete classes for fear of ripping my stitches. Instead, Eric texted stating that he could construct a workout that would focus on alternate muscle groups not impacting my shoulder and putting my stitches at risk of tearing. It meant a lot to me that Eric was invested in my personal fitness goals and willing to find a creative solution to the setback/handicap. The gym has a wide range of equipment, stations and provides all the amenities needed to have a full and well-rounded intensive workout. The class sizes are ideal, and you never feel like just a number. As a father of 2 young children, I really appreciate how open and encouraging the gym is to parents who are trying to be their best. There is a mezzanine in the gym that's set up to host children whose parents are working out - complete with books, toys and couches. My daughter has already enjoyed this area and the views from above watching the workout. Talk about great role modelling and teaching the importance of physical health, fitness and pushing yourself to achieve your potential. All in all, I couldn't be more thankful for such a gym and awesome faith-based community. No matter how hard the workout is I always leave feeling boosted from a fitness and overall positive mindset. I've done lots of personal training before as well, and usually get bored within 6 months but this is not the case at all. Silver Star is by far one of the best boxes in the area. Let me break it down for you. 1. Coaches. Josh, Craig, Kim and Jason are all extremely helpful and concerned with everyone's safety. Every class they provide extensive instruction on all of the movements, even familiar ones. Correct form is their number one, and they all make sure you do it in the most proper and safe way. Modifications are available for those with physical limitations or injuries, but fear not, you'll still get a workout that'll leave you sweating and out of breath. 2. The program. There are 4 Foundation classes offered for all new to CrossFit people. You learn the basic movements, safe technique and the lingo. The regular WODs (workouts of the day) are very challenging even for seasoned CrossFitters, but a number of modifications is always available. 3. The members. I cannot stress enough how nice everyone is. Most of the members are fairly new to CrossFit, having started with Silver Star opening just a few months ago. The memory of what it felt like starting up is still fresh, and they are always willing to share some tips, equipment and cheer on during group workouts. 4. Results. I've been going to Silver Star since December along with many other members and it definitely pays off. My goal was to gain strength and endurance, and little by little I'm lifting more every time and doing more reps. I see the results in other members as well. Better form, slimmer waistlines, higher lifting weight, more muscles mass. 5. Schedule. There are a lot of options for morning and afternoon, with the first session at 5:30 am (ugh crazy people) and the last at 7:30pm. Ask about yoga classes, they are offered a couple times a week as well. Sometimes there are useful workshops, such as Double Under Clinic, taught by outside instructors. In short, if you are new to CrossFit and curious about trying it Silver Star is the best place.

I was surprised to find myself on the mat ten minutes after walking in the door working on moves and submissions. My wife and I both loved it. Everyone is helpful, both instructors, and other students. The general attitude in this place is wonderful. On the kids side, ours were not especially eager initially, but once they got in the class, that was it. They're hooked. The kids instructors make new kids feel very welcome, and they make practice fun. Kids on the mats in contact and working on submissions like the adults but with an approach that suitable for their ages. This place is a 100% recommend. We just moved to Cary and it is one of our luckiest discoveries here.
