    My gorgeous balayage!
    Maricela L.

This was my second time coming to Level Eleven salon and my experience was amazing! I was greeted by the kind staff and they offered complimentary water, coffee, or a mimosa if i wanted. The coffee was perfect! As for the hair, Sara did an amazing job! Since this was my second session going to platinum blonde she was extremely careful and thorough throughout the whole entire process. She took her time with the bleaching process and made sure that my hair kept the integrity while it was lightening up. I was a little worried that it was going to feel rough or have breakage afterwards, but my hair looked and felt AMAZING! Overall, I had a great experience and i will definitely be back for my root touchups! I also recommended her to my sister and she loved her hair as well! Thank you again Sara and Level Eleven!

I got a fully balayage by Ashley. Originally I did not like the tone (this was my fault as I asked for Sandy but I really wanted ashy tones, I didn't know the right names) Ashley was so kind and helped to fix my hair to ensure I left with it exactly how I wanted. I highly recommend getting your hair done by Ashley!

TL;DR - Don't expect a lux experience or true balayage. Competent stylists, but not worth the price. Also, not all clients were wearing masks. - Me: former hair stylist of 10 years. - Cost breakdown: I got a full head of foil highlights which they called balayage, root gloss (done at the sink) at the same time as a toner for my highlights. Also a cut and blowout. Total cost was a bit over $350, with 15% tip, about $400.  - I did not get what I asked for. I wanted my roots and base color darker and for the warmth to be toned out, on top of balayage with bright blond pieces. My base was never toned (I think she may have forgotten), only my roots were darkened, and the highlights I received were muted and not multidimensional because only one level of bleach was used. What I'm left with is a level 5ish base with muted highlights and warmth peeking throughout because, like I said, my base wasn't toned. Overall, it looks fine. The cut was fine. But for the money, it's unacceptable.  - Negatives: The salon is not modern. Old fashioned shampoo bowls with chairs that don't recline making a 20 minute bowl process quite painful. No receptionist or assistants, so the phone was ringing off the hook and the floors remained unswept giving a generally unprofessional vibe. Drinks were not offered. Visitors we're allowed to linger around maskless.  In general, this felt like a bare bones operation lacking in both comfort and professionalism which would be fine for half the price.   - Technique: I scheduled for balayage and what I got was a full foil highlight done with back combed roots. When I say this I mean that, with a rat tail comb, thin slices of hair were taken, and from those, pieces woven out, placed on foils and bleached. There was absolutely no painting of sections by hand. Maybe this is just a Houston thing, but where I worked this would never be called balayage. It feels like a rip off.

A year ago I went to Level Eleven Salon to go from brown hair to blonde highlights. Haeli was my stylist. When she finished with my hair she told me that since my hair was damaged I had some hair "fall out" and that it was normal. I was watching her remove the foils off my hair and my hair was literally falling out as she was removing them. I felt bald but I didn't want to immediately panic. I was so upset to see my reflection and see that mostly all my hair was gone and I only had a few strands of hair left when I came in with a full head of hair. I couldn't even tie my hair into a ponytail because I didn't have enough hair. Then she tried to gaslight me by saying that it was my fault because my hair was damaged and that I should invest into hair extensions... after I had paid her $415 just to end up bald! She didn't want to give me a refund but I ended up speaking to the manager and got a refund. I was still upset because I wish they could've refunded my hair. A year later and my hair is barely getting full again but it really broke my heart to have lost all my hair. Also damaged my self esteem for a while. Hope this review helps someone else!

    My beautiful golden crown
    Christian R.

It was more expensive than I'm used to, and definitely not the most luxurious set up, however that being said I am giving it 5 stars because of the skill these women have! My hair was lifeless dull and dead before I went in after being a new stay at home mom for a few years and ignoring it, now it's got beautiful hand woven silk running through it so well done it looks so natrual Andrea was able to deal with my unconventional part and work with the remainder of some 3 year old red dye left in my hair, and turn my sad lifeless dull head into a beautiful shiny golden pillar of confidence

I originally gave three stars in my first review, but now that y'all have removed it, I have lost complete respect for this business. There was nothing in my review that was a lie. It is sad to see a business not handle criticism well. Multiple stylists at this salon have attitudes. The owner is not personable at all. Have fun even finding out who she is. She seems quite rude over the Yelp reviews I have read. The music is much too loud. The pricing is completely incorrect on here. It is not $$, but more so $$$$. Very expensive. The back half of the salon smelled like actual garbage. I suspected it was wafting from the employee back area. I could smell it at the washing stations. They were playing political news on the TV while I was there; a customer. Very unprofessional. I rather receive a reply from y'all than have my review taken down simply because it doesn't make y'all look exceptional. A good face will not fix your business mistakes. Thanks.

A huge thank you to the Level Eleven team! Especially to Andrea for the amazing balayage! Andrea made me feel so comfortable, confident, and empowered through the entire process. I'm absolutely in love with my hair, and will definitely always trust my hair is in good hands when she works her magic. From the decor/atmosphere to the hospitality and attention to detail, I can't get over how wonderful my experience was. On a scale of 1-10.... They definitely get an 11! I again can't thank you enough for y'alls hard work, and can't wait for my next appointment

Every time I come to Level Eleven I have a great experience, Andrea is my stylist and she always does a phenomenal job with my cut and color. Additionally she explains at home care to maintain my color, which is helpful as I am a rather low maintenance man. Great place, highly recommended.

The color that I asked for

Wish I would've read the reviews before coming here. This salon failed to demonstrate professionalism in multiple ways. First of all, the front desk got my phone number wrong and I called again to have them check but still never received a confirmation text. I was not aware that they didn't change my phone number until I checked out. Secondly, I asked for the specific color and sent a picture and a video to one of the hair stylists for a consultation. She never once mentioned I would have to go through several sessions and have to wait 6 weeks between each session to achieve the desired color. It's very incompetent when nobody gives you the lay out of the process. They can say we discussed the process in the text (which we did not) then change to we discussed it in the chair (did not either) but deep down inside we both know the truth. The hair stylist offered to "waive the fee." On the other hand, when my husband called and asked for it, the owner threatened to call the police for "theft of service." It's laughable when they went against their own words and resorted to legal action. The way they handled the situation obviously showed their inability to run a salon and it reflects poorly on their business. This review is based on true facts on a matter of public interest and written without malice. Please do not offer your client to waive the fee if you are not willing to do it. The fact that she was dishonest about it proved the consultation was never thorough!

Love my burgundy color and perfectly matched hair extensions!

Ashley and Mary slayed my hair! Love my burgundy color and perfectly matched hair extensions! Excellent customer service! The salon is following covid-19 and social distancing protocols. I will definitely be back!

I've visited this salon for the first time to get my hair done again with Mary Pham! She's the only person I would trust with my hair. She's very patient, detail-oriented, and is careful in not damaging your hair. It took me nine hours to go from very dark black hair to platinum! My hair is very well blended and still healthy. The environment in the salon is very friendly, open, and neat.

I was looking to get a balayage ASAP and I got an appointment within the week which was pretty nice. Allison was there bright and early to work on my terrible hair. After years of box dye, I decided I needed a professional to save my hair. She turned my brassy mess into a platinum beauty. The atmosphere was nice and the salon has plastic dividers in between stations. 11/10 experience, I will be coming back.

Copper coloring service done by Level Eleven stylist Lauren Wichmann.
    Salma M.

I gave Level Eleven a visit in late June and it was truly a 10/10 experience. I had FIVE YEARS worth of box dye lifted from my hair, and then recolored to the fiery copper of my dreams by the incredibly talented (and patient! ) Miss LAUREN WICHMANN! Not only did Lauren leave me with a gorgeous new color, but she also took the time to answer my questions and educate me on concerns I had about my hair! For me personally, it's always a nerve wrecking thing going to get your hair done at a salon when you have been coloring it yourself with box dye for SO LONG! I wasn't sure how it would affect the health or texture of my hair, especially considering I had never experienced having color lifted before. HOWEVER, Lauren really made me feel confident, comfortable and beautiful! She let me know what was happening during every step of the process and made sure I was nothing less than satisfied with my new hair. Lauren is very professional but not at all intimidating, which is awesome, because she really knows how to make people feel comfortable. Her knowledge and experience with hair really shows in her work and I would definitely suggest her, especially if you are looking for a coloring service! Level Eleven is a new and rebranded salon, but the stylists have years of experience, and it shows in clientele results. My experience at this salon was incredibly positive, everyone on staff was very kind and personable, the salon itself is GORGEOUS and neat, and the pricing is reasonable for the high end quality you receive. I have attached pictures of my coloring job and Lauren's social media if anyone is interested in seeing the results or considering scheduling an appointment with this stylist!

What color technique should I get to turn my brown hair with blonde highlights into a more solid golden blonde? I also don't want to spend too much money.

There are a lot of techniques that can work for this, but it's best to come in for a consultation so a stylist can see your hair and cater a specific plan to your hair and needs.

They also provide hair products to try as well as a Dyson hair dryer. I was definitely very impressed with the luxurious feel of the spa, however, was turned off by the receptionist who checked me in - her robotic, transactional nature was starkly juxtaposed against the warmth of the spa. I noticed she was the same with all customers so it wasn't personal but interaction with her was unsettling. I booked the 60min signature hydrafacial and the esthetician was welcoming and willingly customized my facial based on my requests. No major issues encountered but I noticed we started 10 minutes late and ended 10 minutes early so I thought marketing it as a 60min experience was a bit misleading. Also note the 60min Signature Hydrafacial does not include any hand/neck massages nor boosters nor light therapy so the $285 price was much more expensive than my usual spa. I will not return for another facial but may try massage in the future. We also booked pedicures and again the space is beautiful!! We were given a palette to select colors and the ladies were extremely friendly! My toes came out adorable! I found the seating to be very uncomfortable for a short person despite many pillows placed behind me for support so I honestly struggled to enjoy the experience but the space was very nicely decorated and clean looking. We were offered tea and snacks at the beginning as well. Overall, this was a very nice spa. I found it fairly expensive and overpriced, but I recognize beautiful spaces have a cost and that's what I should've expected in the River Oaks area. There is complementary validated parking!
