After doing much research online for a hair salon I decided to give CHELSEA HALEY a chance because her work on Instagram looked beautiful. I wish I hadn't. It took me 4 weeks to get an appointment with her only to have her flake out numerous times AT THE LAST MINUTE I confirmed my appointment the day before via text and email, and took a vacation day off work on the date of my appointment. Driving to my appointment, I receive a text 10 minutes before from Chelsea asking me to come 30 minutes later since she was running behind with another client. I confirmed that Ill be there at the time she requested and waited at a nearby Starbucks. 20 minutes later I get another text that her son is ill with the flu and she is also ill. She requested to reschedule for the following week. I called Chelsea and talked to her about the new appointment she assured me that 100% she will not cancel again at the last minute (since I had an event to attend the following week) I rescheduled the appointment for today Friday at 1 PM Once again I confirmed my appointment took another day off work AND - today an hour before my appointment time I received a call from the receptionist at Level eleven claiming that Chelsie had a family emergency and cannot do my hair and that my appointment is canceled! And simply HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!!! I called back and asked to speak with the owner and she said the owner will call me back. I did get a call back from the owner Ashley Osborn who claimed that Chelsie only rents a chair there and they are not responsible for her booking. She did apologize and offered a future appointment with another stylist and a discount. I explained that It's not about the money and that unfortunately, I am out 2 days of work and my event is tomorrow morning, so this is very upsetting. There is no way I can find a stylist at the last minute. The response" she only rents a chair here is unacceptable" Who does that ?? I f I would have canceled last minute twice they would have expected me to pay ....... There is absolutely no excuse for this level of disregard and unprofessionalism. This was my second time coming to Level Eleven salon and my experience was amazing! I was greeted by the kind staff and they offered complimentary water, coffee, or a mimosa if i wanted. The coffee was perfect! As for the hair, Sara did an amazing job! Since this was my second session going to platinum blonde she was extremely careful and thorough throughout the whole entire process. She took her time with the bleaching process and made sure that my hair kept the integrity while it was lightening up. I was a little worried that it was going to feel rough or have breakage afterwards, but my hair looked and felt AMAZING! TL;DR - Don't expect a lux experience or true balayage. Competent stylists, but not worth the price. Also, not all clients were wearing masks. - Me: former hair stylist of 10 years. - Cost breakdown: I got a full head of foil highlights which they called balayage, root gloss (done at the sink) at the same time as a toner for my highlights. Also a cut and blowout. Total cost was a bit over $350, with 15% tip, about $400.  - I did not get what I asked for. I wanted my roots and base color darker and for the warmth to be toned out, on top of balayage with bright blond pieces. My base was never toned (I think she may have forgotten), only my roots were darkened, and the highlights I received were muted and not multidimensional because only one level of bleach was used. What I'm left with is a level 5ish base with muted highlights and warmth peeking throughout because, like I said, my base wasn't toned. Overall, it looks fine. The cut was fine. But for the money, it's unacceptable.  - Negatives: The salon is not modern. Old fashioned shampoo bowls with chairs that don't recline making a 20 minute bowl process quite painful. No receptionist or assistants, so the phone was ringing off the hook and the floors remained unswept giving a generally unprofessional vibe. Drinks were not offered. Visitors we're allowed to linger around maskless.  In general, this felt like a bare bones operation lacking in both comfort and professionalism which would be fine for half the price.   - Technique: I scheduled for balayage and what I got was a full foil highlight done with back combed roots. When I say this I mean that, with a rat tail comb, thin slices of hair were taken, and from those, pieces woven out, placed on foils and bleached. There was absolutely no painting of sections by hand. Maybe this is just a Houston thing, but where I worked this would never be called balayage. It feels like a rip off. read more

A year ago I went to Level Eleven Salon to go from brown hair to blonde highlights. Haeli was my stylist. When she finished with my hair she told me that since my hair was damaged I had some hair "fall out" and that it was normal. I was watching her remove the foils off my hair and my hair was literally falling out as she was removing them. I felt bald but I didn't want to immediately panic. I was so upset to see my reflection and see that mostly all my hair was gone and I only had a few strands of hair left when I came in with a full head of hair. I couldn't even tie my hair into a ponytail because I didn't have enough hair. Then she tried to gaslight me by saying that it was my fault because my hair was damaged and that I should invest into hair extensions... after I had paid her $415 just to end up bald! She didn't want to give me a refund but I ended up speaking to the manager and got a refund. I was still upset because I wish they could've refunded my hair. A year later and my hair is barely getting full again but it really broke my heart to have lost all my hair. Also damaged my self esteem for a while. Hope this review helps someone else! read more

After looking around Instagram I found Mary and decided to book a balayage appointment with her for my husbands deployment homecoming!! Haven't seen him since October so I wanted to surprise him with something new I booked weeks in advance and was extremely excited as this would've been the first time in 2 years since I've dyed my hair as well. After 40 min of travel to get there today, I wait outside the door and call to let them know I'm here for my 12:30 appointment they ask me to wait in my car as Mary was not there yet. (NO MENTION OF COVID EMPLOYEE!!) About 10 min later the owner calls me back to inform me they've cancelled my appointment LAST MIN due to an employee apparently testing positive. While there was a lady clearly getting a service done in the salon... They said they couldn't get ahold of me because they confused "281" w "201" Why is someone getting a service when apparently you guys knew of positive employee? Why didn't the receptionist let me know salon is closing due to said positive employee? I get it. Sh*t happens, but don't make people waste their time and gas just to be rejected at the door last min. Also, don't call the person that is waiting outside your building when you can break that kind of news in person... Unprofessional in my opinion, extremely rude, and bad customer service skills. I come here to see MARY for my cuts and color! I actually followed her here even if it's out of the way for me because she does amazing work and a sweet gal. I've been getting my balayage done by her and she hits the nail on the head every time. I always leave feeling satisfied and that my money spent was well worth it. She really listens to what I request and delivers to the T. My hair still feels healthy after all this time. The blend and dimension she achieves in my balayage is hands down the best. I LOVE the way she cuts my hair! I have thin, long hair so it is very easy to see a wanky cut. I have never had anyone cut my hair as well as she can. I part it to the right side and she actually cuts it while it is parted so the layers blend so seamlessly, all around. All my pre-Mary cuts, they part in the middle to cut (knowing where I part my hair) so when I do flip my hair to part it, it's chunky on my right side. With Mary, no chunky-ness! The shop itself is modern and nice. Got a cute little waiting area. Robes are nice. Washing chairs are a bit uncomfortable but not something that's a big deal for me. Wish I would've read the reviews before coming here. This salon failed to demonstrate professionalism in multiple ways. First of all, the front desk got my phone number wrong and I called again to have them check but still never received a confirmation text. I was not aware that they didn't change my phone number until I checked out. Secondly, I asked for the specific color and sent a picture and a video to one of the hair stylists for a consultation. She never once mentioned I would have to go through several sessions and have to wait 6 weeks between each session to achieve the desired color. It's very incompetent when nobody gives you the lay out of the process. They can say we discussed the process in the text (which we did not) then change to we discussed it in the chair (did not either) but deep down inside we both know the truth. The hair stylist offered to "waive the fee." On the other hand, when my husband called and asked for it, the owner threatened to call the police for "theft of service." It's laughable when they went against their own words and resorted to legal action. The way they handled the situation obviously showed their inability to run a salon and it reflects poorly on their business. This review is based on true facts on a matter of public interest and written without malice. Please do not offer your client to waive the fee if you are not willing to do it. I gave Level Eleven a visit in late June and it was truly a 10/10 experience. I had FIVE YEARS worth of box dye lifted from my hair, and then recolored to the fiery copper of my dreams by the incredibly talented (and patient! ) Miss LAUREN WICHMANN! Initially after my haircut a few months ago, I would have given this salon 5 of 5. Parking is small, but the inside is beautiful. It's very spacious, looks clean and staff was very accommodating. My stylist was Andrea and right after my appointment I really liked my cut, thought she did a wonderful job. She's very professional and pleasing, but unfortunately I don't think the cut and style did on my hair held up. I have very thick, straight and healthy Asian hair and asked for layers and curtain bangs. At first the layers looked a little choppy but after putting leave in conditioner then it would sort of flatten down and would look OK. But now, The choppy layers are getting more obvious, they're not really blending well at all. It makes my hair look dry and rough when it's not. And all this is just at one section of my hair too which is smack at the back of my neck so the rough looking patch is kinda obvious. Still just a 4/5 because at least my hair looked okay for a month or two, but I personally would not go back to her for a haircut. I think maybe if my hair was wavy or curly then the layers would have looked okay, so if you have that hair texture then maybe I'd consider her. read more

So I have struggled to find a salon that could deal with my black box dyed, thick and curly hair for a long time. Worth it! I needed a haircut desperately and my usual salon was booked full so I decided to try Level Eleven! I was booked the same day I called and was very pleased. Allison was my stylist and she was awesome! She was very welcoming and I felt really comfortable working with her. She was willing to work with my hair as I wanted and she definitely did not fail me! I made an appointment with a specific stylist on their online system, but was then called by another stylist. I figured it was fine since it was another "master" stylist. WRONG -not fine! Initially I wanted a solid chocolate color. The stylist said they specialize in balayage so I thought "ok let me go all out." (Price quoted: $275). FIVE HOURS LATER, I walked away with a botched "balayage," colors carrot orange. My hair is basically ORANGE! How does one confuse chocolate with orange?! Second, after the stylist finished blow drying my hair, my ends and other areas were still clearly damp. I even asked if she was done because you could even see that my hair was still wet. To my dismay, she responded "yes." Oh, and before we even began with color, she chopped the ends of my hair, which I'm unclear as to why. So, needless to say, after the horrible color and terrible blow dry, I absolutely did not want the stylist to proceed with cutting my hair. I expressed my displeasure and the stylist said to come back another time so that she could fix it and she did not charge me (thankfully!). Conclusion: I very much doubt I'll go back for the stylist to fix. After all, if she did such a poor job the first time, how can I trust her a second time!... Moving on to find another salon! PS: only positive, is that the stylist was very apologetic and nice. But sadly that can't make up for the carrot orange choppy hair I now have to walk around with until I can find a fix. read more

I rarely leave reviews and it makes me upset that I'm leaving a one star for this salon because I'm sure their work is really good. However, both times that I have been there, I was not able to get service done at all. The first time I went, after trying to call varies times days before with NO answer, was on a Tuesday. I walked in and it was empty. Not one person was in the salon. I sat down and waited thinking maybe the person there ran to the restroom or something. Nothing. So I left. I attempted again to call with no answer. So I request an appointment here on yelp. I was told Monday and Tuesday they are closed (again weird because the door was open and it says on the door that they were open) so the owner scheduled me down for Sunday at 10am. When I arrived on Sunday, the girl in the front looked very shocked to see me walk in. She apparently couldn't find my name on the schedule. Asked me to take a seat and went to the back. 5 mins later, she says that the stylist didn't receive information on the appointment. Then offered me to make me an appointment for the following week. I would have said yes, but I needed my hair done before the holiday which is why I wanted to get it done before. Got a balayage done by Mary! She did an amazing job and I know it wasn't easy correcting my previous color. She is a trooper and her work is impeccable. The color stayed true and grew out nicely. It was my first experience at a truly high end salon, so it was pricier than I was used to/ comfortable with. Would highly recommend if you can afford it. Had to take a few extra shifts to cover it but money well spent! read more
