I've never anything like this and it was so delicious! It wasn't heavy or overly sweet. You can definitely taste the rose and they didn't go cheap with the pistachios either! There were pistachios in each bite. The cake was moist and light/fluffy. Baklavas are to die for here!! I love all the different pastries they had. They had everything from cookies, baklavas, and cakes! It makes such a nice gift! I had them make me a box for my doctor's office which they handpicked all dozen treats. It all looks sooooo good! The staff were so nice and helpful! The guy took the time to explain the pastries and even recommended the popular pastries. They know their menu so well! You can also get a whole cakes here if you wanted! My husband like the latte here as well! Very smooth! Ambiance is nice! This place is very cute and wasn't too crowded when we went on a late Saturday morning (which is a plus since we brought a large stroller). We ordered a Dubai dark chocolate bar, the cheesecake, and tres leches, as well as a Turkish coffee. The food was brought to our table and everything was delicious, but prices were a bit higher than I would expect. This review is way overdue, but LeVant Dessert is a cozy bakery with a warm atmosphere and beautifully presented desserts. I tried one of their cream rose cake slice topped with pistachios and rose petals it looked lovely and was clearly made with care. That said, the dessert was very sweet for my personal taste. The sweetness overpowered the other flavors, and I wasn't able to finish it. If you enjoy rich, syrupy desserts, this may be right up your alley, but it was a bit much for me. I also tried the kanefeh cheese cake, it was fairly good. As a Syrian American, walking into this place felt like stepping into a piece of home. The decor, the recipe books, the backgammon boards, all the little details made me feel instantly connected. While in Redwood City, it so happened to be a celebration of Palestine Day; there were 2 blocks of vendors (even on the cross streets) and entertainment in front of Courthouse Square. One of the pop up vendors was Levant Dessert, a place that was on my radar to visit in Menlo Park that was highly recommend by a friend for their Dubai Chocolate. I got to try their Knafeh Course - a warm, crunchy dessert of Shredded Phyllo Dough, cheese filled, with light syrup and topped with chopped pistachios and Halawt Jeben - a traditional Levantine dessert made of sweet cheese and semolina dough. Both desserts were delicious that I had to go back for seconds! The folks who were taking my order were very helpful in explaining the different kinds of desserts they had that day. Although it was just a pop-up tent, it was clean, well-organized, the long lines went very fast. So happy that I was able to sample a couple of their dessert, definitely will still stop by their Menlo Park store some time to check out other offerings. read more

Wow! This place is super cool. Im a Sbux junkie so this is definitely a difference. I loved the hospitality from the gentleman and I love the story of this cafe. Its family run, the recipes are passed down and its shows a whole different culture. The music is different, I dont even know how to pronounce the foods. None of this is a bad thing; everything looks delicious and the customer service is 10/10. Please forgive my cultural naivete, in this regard im pretty dumb. This type of cultural experience I had here makes me want to go travel, or at least watch an Anthony Bourdain episode of Parts Unkown. This place has a special place in my heart, my youngest has to go through lots of surgeries at Lucile Packard and this is always one of the stops to keep the rest of the family fed and happy around breakfast time. Went back today due to being in the area for another family get together and got a giant spread of goodies. The service is always fantastic, very friendly, very quick. And all of the goodies, seriously you can't go wrong. As far as ambiance, this is the first time I have gotten to actually sit down and enjoy everything fresh and at a table, great experience. Very cool music playing, great decor to look at, and a very relaxing place to have a coffee and some nutty treats. After spending the afternoon at Filoli, I decided to treat myself to coffee and dessert. I've been trying to get to LeVant Dessert for some time now, so today seemed like the perfect time to visit. There were plenty of parking spots available. The interior is bright, clean, and nicely decorated. There are fresh flowers on the tables. I ordered an Americano and knafhe. The cheese was gooey and there was just the right amount of simple syrup. It was yummy! The Americano was nice, just wish it was a bit hotter. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The one thing that was a bit challenging was navigating the space. The tables & chairs ratio to the available space was a bit high. It's fairly tight, almost uncomfortable being so close to the next table. I will definitely be back but likely for takeout only. read more

Levant was one of the cutest bakeries I've ever seen. It was spacious and the interior design was pleasant. The display of their available pastries was presented well. I wanted to try all of their desserts, but I was alerady full from brunch somewhere else, so I tried one of their rose cookies and purchased a bar of Dubai Chocolate. I don't know anywhere else as of now where I can conveniently order a Dubai chocolate bar, which was what inspired my friend and I to venture here. The rose cookie was like shortbread dipped in some flaky cream with rose petals on it. You definitely tasted the rose on that part of the cookie, and it would have tasted better accompanying a drink if I bought one. The Dubai chocolate had plenty of creamy and smooth pistachio filling inside and was not too sweet. Dubai chocolate can melt pretty quickly, so it was nice that they stored it in the refridgerator before serving to their customers. The service was wonderful and there was plenty of space and available tables to comfortably relax and catch up with loved ones. I would say the prices of the desserts at this restaurant range from moderate to a bit expensive, but it is justifiable because they serve special desserts that are difficult to find elsewhere or prepare. Additionally, some of the desserts are on the affordable side, and others might be for when you want to have splurge days. Oh My goodness! I'm in love with this place. It's a beautiful cafe that excudes a tranquil vibe. It's has cute little water fountains on the wall bringing in that calm feeling. Love that they have fresh flowers in the cafe. The lady who works at the counter has the sweetest demeanor ever. She was so helpful and kind. Especially when I asked her countless questions regarding common allergens. I had the Lebanese coffee that was delicious. It was served with a crystallized sugar stick. And last but not least they had a gluten free date Mamoul that was so darn good. I sometimes Ava super skeptical about trying gluten free baked goods but this was delicious. Of the many middle eastern cafes in the Bay. Levant's dessert offerings are a cut above the rest. I've tried a number of different ones in San Mateo, Redwood City, Mountain View and San Jose and everyone else's tres leches, baklava and other baked goods etc were very middling to be honest. Fun to try but I wouldn't get them again. However at LeVant, the general quality, balance of flavors, artistry of the baker was significantly higher. (The difference between Satura Cake vs a slightly poorly run Paris Baguette if that analogy makes sense in terms of asian bakeries in the Bay). I'd definitely recommend their desserts and will return to try other flavors. Im also obsessed with unsweetened Yemeni Chai now and will say that theres a middle eastern cafe in mountain views who's Chai is awesome and not as watered down for the American palette as the rest of the Chai is at all the cafes. LeVant's chai wasnt at that level for me but not bad but I'd recommend the desserts over the chai! read more

This cute spot has a Dubai Chocolate cheescake! The chocolate pistachio flavors were not overly sweet and I loved the little crunchy pieces in each bite. I also got their one of their Tripoli pocket sandwiches that had toasty sesame bread with a thick layer of cheese and basturma, which is air dried cured beef flavored from different yummy spices. They also have a variety of pretty Middle Eastern pastries and some specialties including Dubai Chocolate Strawberries, Baklava cheese cake, and more! Gonna get straight to the point and say come to try the Dubai Chocolate, but stay for everything else! Just like lots of other people here, we came to try the Dubai chocolate. But once we got inside, seeing the rest of the selection made us want to try everything. In addition to the Dubai chocolate, we settled on the Pistachio Rose Tres Leches cake. This looked good, sounded good, and were happy to find out that it tasted as good too! The rose wasn't too strong and the cake overall was moist like you expect from a good tres leches cake. The Dubai chocolate bar (we got the dark chocolate version) was good, but surprisingly tasted even better a day after. I'm not sure if I would go out of my way to get this again, and especially for the price. But I definitely would come back for the pistachio rose tres leches! The inside of the shop is pretty spacious, and has lots of tables to sit at. They also serve coffee which would pair well with lots of the treats they sell. TLDR: Come for the Dubai Chocolate Bar, but stay for the amazing range of desserts! (Especially the Pistachio Rose Tres Leches Cake!) I admit, I came to LeVant to try out the viral Dubai Chocolate bar like many others. My husband and arrived 10-15 minutes before 5PM in case we had to line up, but surprisingly there was no line at all. Menlo Park in general was pretty quiet, and even after 5PM there were maybe 3 other parties that ordered from the counter. They were fully stocked with milk and dark chocolate versions of the bar, so we ordered the dark chocolate version. The bar itself was just good, and for $15ish it was actually cheaper than the Dubai Chocolate bar we got from Patchi (a luxury chocolate shop in Dubai) that was about $20 USD. We actually ended up saving half the bar to eat later and surprisingly it tasted better the next day! So if you're not feeling the chocolate at first bite, leave it out in a cool spot on the counter and come back to it in a few hours or leave it overnight. We also decided to order the Pistachio Rose Tres Leches Cake and OMG. If you NEED to order this! The rose flavor isn't overpowering at all and it's complemented by the pistachio and tres leches flavors. The texture was of the cake was perfect and it wasn't soggy at all from the milk. I would 100% come back just for this cake! Overall Ambiance of the cafe was super cute and I love that they have books to peruse while you relax with a cup of coffee and a plate (or plates) of dessert. Tried the Dubai chocolate strawberry cup. It was definitely interesting with chocolate and a healthy pistachio crunch. The cup was filled with strawberries. The strawberries themselves were ok. The combination of the chocolate and pistachio was interesting and sort of reminded me of a deconstructed Dubai chocolate bar. Personally it was a bit sweet and the combination with the strawberries was not my favorite. I'm glad I tried it, albeit it was quite pricey ~$20 for the large sized cup. read more

The chocolate was rich and velvety. I enjoyed the texture combination with the heavy pistachio flavor. Pistachio is one of my favorite flavors so there was no way I wouldn't like it. Even with the viral nature of Dubai chocolate, this bakery made it very easy to get a taste of it without the long lines or hassle. I showed up at 1 pm on Sunday, expecting a long line given it was a weekend. Surprisingly, there was no line at all! While they offer both milk and dark chocolate variants, they were sold out of dark chocolate by then. Milk chocolate was perfectly fine with me though! The chocolate was a new textural experience for me, given the crispy nature of the phyllo dough. So flavorful and incredibly creamy, very hard to not demolish it in one sitting! We heard about LeVant due to the viral Dubai chocolate bar but during our visit we opted to try other items instead. Now that I've had an opportunity to try several treats, the words that keep coming to mind are - elegant, refined, delicate, unique, beautiful, and delicious (of course). We decided to sample two items while relaxing a bit at the darling little cafe. The first, kinafe.. is a favorite of mine that I've had on numerous occasions (read: any chance I get). I've only ever seen it made with cheese filling, which I love, but this time I went with their cream filling option. It was lovely. Hot out of the oven with light, crispy filo, thick cream filling and sweet syrup. It would go particularly well with coffee. We also tried the tres leches rose pistachio cake and it was sublime. Like, eyes-wide-omg-surprise-face levels of good. Light cake, lovely balanced flavors... all drenched in rich, delicious tres leches. I want this cake for my next special occasion - without a doubt. We also took home four different cookies and a little personal sized chocolate pistachio cheesecake for another day. All were lovely. The cookies were tender and delicate with clear and well balanced flavors. They are delightful with tea or by themselves. The chocolate pistachio cheesecake was also outstanding. Rich and flavorful but not heavy and a little crunch from what I think is pressed filo as part of the crust is just wonderful. The ladies working are helpful and friendly, and I noticed backgammon and books presumably to borrow while you relax and chat. There is a large parking lot behind the building as well.
