(1 Star) I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had at this facility today during our 12:15 PM game. Our team, Goon Squad, was involved in a situation that became physically dangerous, and the staff did absolutely nothing to control it. The officiating was completely one-sided. The foul count was extremely disproportionate (around 13 called on us compared to about 3 on the other team), and every time we calmly asked for clarification, we were dismissed or talked down to. At the end of the game, one of the referees actually told me, word for word, "You guys suck, it's just rec soccer, it's not that hard to play the game." That is wildly unprofessional and unacceptable behavior from someone who is supposed to be maintaining order. The situation escalated at the end of the match when one of my teammates was shoved to the ground and players from the opposing team started swinging at him while he was down. When I stepped in to pull someone off, I was jumped by multiple players. I was punched several times, put in a headlock, kicked in the face, and had my jersey ripped. I ended up with multiple scratches around my neck, a black eye, and a chipped tooth. This is supposed to be recreational soccer, but it was allowed to turn into something unsafe and completely out of control. The referees failed to manage the game, and in my experience, management handled the situation terribly afterward. Player safety clearly is not a priority here. I am pressing charges and have requested the game film. If you care at all about safety, professionalism, or basic accountability, I strongly recommend staying away from this place. This place had a decent facility, 3 stars. Pretty dirty but i dont really care about the cleanliness. The refs, horrible. Most not doing their job, like not taking fouls seriously and calling stuff that shouldnt be called. The seats to watch the games are absolutely horrible aswell. Take your business somewhere else. They don't care about experience. Games are started before players are even ready to go. Our players had to wait twenty minutes to get their cards printed. You would think they would get them ready before hand but that would be too much to ask. Just try and get someone on the phone. I have not once been able to. Or an email back? Good luck! The customer service is really bad here. And looking at the other reviews, it's evident the management doesn't seem to care. I have played at the Gardner Village location here and there over the years. I got to the first game of this season early because I know a lot of times waivers are necessary before play. Went to sign the waiver and it's online only- okay fine. But then I can't sign in. I request a password reset. And it errors out- "Token expired". I try again and again. The desk attendant was not very helpful. I kept having to ask him what I should do and it was me suggesting things rather than him leading me to a solution. To which he would just say "uhh... no we can't do that because xyz." Very frustrating. & I ended up being late to the game. Finally he told me he'd give me a pass for today but I'd need to sign the waiver when I got home. So I try again when I get home and still can't. Here's the error I get. "Phone number Phone Number must be 10 digits" .... On a password reset form...? Additionally the refs asked us for ref fees in the middle of the game- something I was never told about when I was asked if I wanted to sign up for the house team. ********* All the blunders I could deal with if the service was okay. But today I even started out my conversation at the desk by saying, "I'm not sure if I'm wearing the right color, I called and wasn't able to reach anybody." And a guy who looked like a manager or owner laughed me off joking about the color not mattering too much. Like dude, answering the phone is a very basic expectation for a customer to have of a business. It's all good to make jokes, but I have tried several times over the years to call this place during business hours- I have also emailed, and I have never once heard back. That is not cool. The management at this facility is absolutely horrendous. Loren is rude and disrespectful. They schedule a game for us on the 4th of July at 7 pm. We asked him if we could get a reschedule and he was such a jerk about it. Then proceeded to tell us he will charge our team $40 if we don't show up... a good manager would have been nice and apologetic. At least tell us you'll TRY instead of being rude. He stuck his hand in my face to motion me to stop talking. I'm absolutely appalled at the customer service here. We have been playing here for 5+ years and this is how they'll treat you. They've also raised their prices by $200 and doubled the ref fees in the past 3 years and shortened the games by 10 minutes. Save your money and play at the sportsplex. You will just walk away frustrated and poor if you try to play here. read more

I have been playing here for 6 years in adult leagues and have also had the youth team I coach play here for years. I personally enjoy playing here and probably 50-70% of the time there are no issues once a game is going. However I have seen everything in the 1 star reviews and agree with all of it. Many of the leagues are unbalanced in terms of player skill both in adult and youth leagues. Ref quality is very spotty (some good, some atrocious; I'm a Grassroots licensed ref and also ref high school so I feel I can judge this more accurately than most) and games can get out of hand. Customer service definitely could use some work. My adult teams have had serious problems with the schedule; you get it in your mind that you are going to play most of your games on a certain day...and then they change the schedule on you last minute. Which is a real pain in the butt when you rearrange your work schedule and then surprise you are on a different day at a different time. Current example: adult league expected to play on Thursday. They schedule a game for 8:30pm on Saturday. Then on the Wednesday before the game we find out from our captain that the game time has been moved to 11:30pm on Saturday. Their response: the schedule isn't final until we text you. They have a monopoly on indoor adult leagues in salt lake proper area...and they aren't afraid to flex on their customers with BS like this. In the youth leagues there is zero attempt to balance the leagues. Metro B teams are placed in leagues with D1/premier 2 teams. You can even be forced to play a year up. Its really hard to remain positive when your team gets blown out every game; I actually recommended to my last youth team's parents that we NOT play indoor here but there was enough groundswell that we did...and it wasn't a great experience. Being kind sometimes this is simply because they don't have enough teams in an age group to make a league, but that doesn't always seem to be the case. My husband and I have been playing here for 3 years, but the risks are starting to outweigh the benefits. The refs are slow to control games and so there seems to be a fight or retaliatory plays almost every time we've been here. At this point we've had players be called disgusting and sexist names, recieve serious injuries, be physically harassed, and even a few death threats. When we've complained, it seems that our complaints fall upon deaf ears. When bringing up a very serious situation in which one of our players was grabbed by the throat and told, "I'm going to kill you" we were told by the owner that the video quality of their recordings is too poor to tell if that situation was real. However, when a previous ref playing against us complained, we were told by the same owner that he would be reviewing the video footage to see if we were playing "unsafe". The double standards applied to teams is astounding. At this point we've had a broken arm, a broken finger, a torn ACL, multiple concussions, high ankle sprain, bruised and bloody ankles, and mandatory chiropractic visits. This seems a high price to pay in addition to the steep season fees. All of these injuries could have easily be avoided by good reffing, managing games before they get out of hand, and management that actually cares about it's patrons. Unless you want to pay for hospital bills in addition to team fees, I'd look elsewhere. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This is the most poorly managed facility I have ever experienced. I would avoid having your team play here at all cost. The scheduling is terrible, half the games are cancelled with zero notice, they put teams on the roster called "house teams" who do not have enough players to even complete a team let alone play. Having any of your concerns acknowledged or resolved is near impossible. Go with another facility, you will be happy you did. read more

Just like a majority of the other reviews, the fields are decent quality but all other aspects are not. Playing here highly risky due to due to a lack of care regarding player safety and player satisfaction. The refs are some of the lowest quality I have experienced and the management will not ever intervene if a mistake is made. I received a red card after being punched in the head by another player while playing goalie for bumping into another player. Management reviewed this and said the card will be removed due to me being the victim in the assault. Unfortunately, management lied and any decision the ref makes is final. Management "reviews" incidents but never actually does anything. Playing here is just not worth the price and risk of getting injured since the officials don't control the games. read more

After experiencing both Let's Play facilities in both Woods Cross and Murray, I can say that though this is a very convenient location, it does not live up to its newly-opened expectations. After playing two seasons there over the course of a year on two different leagues, we've experienced horrible reffing and customer care among poor facility care. The overall facility is okay, and the recently added wood bleachers are good for watching games, but hard to maneuver around and already are filthy despite their age. Bathrooms and parking areas are good. The original turf that they had down their first season was HORRIBLE- but they've since replaced it for their second season, which is a plus. However, their first season the facility went through a no-game period after postponing games because of a gas leak, which did adversely affect some of the children training there for the day. (They have not had any recent gas problems, as far as I am aware.) Without failure, every game we've had, the staff starts the clock and does not tell the players, using up our valuable paid-for time. Injuries are unavoidable because the overall reffing procedure is "stand at half line and call things from 45 feet away" guided by a box ref that consistently displays poor judgment. I don't feel in danger, but I have yelled at refs while I'm playing to demand that they protect my goalie from certain players or ask they open their eyes to hard fouls and blatantly obvious grabbing, slamming into walls, and tripping. Talking to the management about both of these issues has resulted in NO CHANGE. Despite its decent value, I don't think that the customer service or facility at Gardner Village is where it should be, even though this is their THIRD Salt Lake location... Unfortunately, compared to the price and convenience to other businesses in Draper and South Jordan, they balance out to be pretty even pro/con wise on price, convenience, and facility. Let's Play at Gardner Village, however, is definitely not making an effort to stand out from the competition to be an obvious choice to play good, fun soccer. read more

I've come to the salt lake facility for 3 years and things have gotten worse. They have begun to start the clocks early, not pause games, and rarely have their cards/files/refs ready on time. They started asking for $25 player fee over the past year, which doesn't really feel cool when they also schedule your first game on New Years Day. Everyone loves playing hung-over on a Holiday. I ended the season today in the middle of the final game of the season because my fees had expired right before the last game. They requested a $25 fee to let me play my final game and then tried to haggle with me? The manager was very rude, which also seems to be a running theme in these comments. I would recommend the other places in town for your leagues. read more

It's more like 1/2 star and only because some refs are great. I've been playing with let's play for 3years and we switched to woods cross even if it's farther away. The main manager he is very condescending and when asked for corporates number he told me to get it from the website even though I was right there! He had Terri me costumer service skills! The majority of the refs are the worst, I pay a lot of money not only to play but also for refs fees and they have treated us each season like they are Paying me! (There are a few exceptions). There are no consistent rules that they follow so it's always a guess game. I mean I have seen someone get a blue card for saying fudge while other times I have seen people literally swear up a storm while playing (definitely does not make someone feel safe). I have seen someone get told they should been given a blue card, I mean you're the ref either give it or don't but don't make threats. I have seen someone else get a blue for apologizing to a different ref for not fully understanding the rules (this was their first time playing) but really someone can't sincerely apologize? Beyond that it's antiquated, who still has to use cash to pay refs and if it's too full you have to play on a different day that signed up for! There are not many places to play indoor and it's crappy that this is the closest choice to play as it could be 100xs better. read more

NOT KID FRIENDLY. I hear the refs swearing all the time. This is a very poorly managed business that does not cater to its clients. They charge way too much with many hidden fees. I play a lot of indoor soccer, not by choice, but out of a desire to play and a lack of green space to satisfy me. Out of all of the leagues, I like Let's Play the best, and Gardner Village is their nicest facility. The leagues aren't as competitive as the other places, so you can join a league just to play and have fun. The facility is great too, new enough and a nice surface for turf. The referees are decent and there is plenty of room for spectators. It's usually a good time. read more

I really enjoy playing here, refs are usually good sports and handle stressful events or crazy people very well most of the time. We keep coming back for some reason, we love playing here! Joined a league made up by Let's Play Soccer and at the MURRAY location there is a ref who speaks Spanish and he doesn't think you do! He made fun of our team and was very unprofessional! They also changed the schedule and game locations more then once. And for family's that rearrange their schedules to be at the games, had to do it over and over. We are part of a larger comp league who will take our 20 teams to Soccer City. Don't trust your kids with this league! read more
