Got a Romanian red wine--never had Romanian wine before, but it was good. Great atmosphere, cute restaurant--loved the whisky display! We also went to their sister restaurant around the corner, Kelp. Amazing seafood! Same situation: it was crowded, we didn't have reservations, but they made room for us. Kelp was definitely a highlight of the food in Scotland. Beyond excellent! If you are in Glasgow, I would highly recommend both places.

I believe the mezzanine is free to hire during the week. First up - this place is really, really dark. I actually don't even know how it's so dark, even in the middle of the day. It really does take a bit for your eyes to adjust to the place. The decor is a bit outdated but nothing offensive and the mezzanine space is great as it's actually quite bright and cosy without being squashy (mind your head if you're tall!). There's a good wine list and they are reasonably priced. We had a few platters for our group - vegetarian and meat - and they both seemed to be very well received, particularly the red pepper hummus on the veggie platter. From what I remember, the platters are described as serving 2 people but I'd actually say it's more like 4 as they're really quite big. On the night we visited, it was really busy as it was Easter Thursday and so our reserved area was hotly sought-after by people looking for a seat. When I was leaving later in the night, there was lots of rowdy blokes downstairs so that was a little off-putting (but I was on my way out anyway). Tempura prawns to start. They were huge and the sweet chill sauce that was with it was great to. On to the main which was a huge house burger rammed with chorizo, Chilli's, chorizo, an onion ring, etc. There is so many other burger places in Glasgow now, but the burger on offer here is as good as anything you will get elsewhere. Finally on the side there was a portion of great skinny fries and a bottle of anchor steamer. My only minor issue was how close our table was to others - just difficult to hear what my partner was saying. But glad to get a table so really can't complain!
