However, I have learned through many bad experiences, that you get what you pay for. The previous company that installed the gutters did it incorrectly. None of the gutters were actually under the drip guard and there was a lot of wood rot on the facia. There was also a lot of mold accumulated. The previous owners obviously went with a cheap company and it showed. Tim came out and gave us an estimate and explained the entire process in great detail. He was able to match the color if the gutter to our existing metal roof. He also kept in contact with us, to let us know when the installation would begin. The installers, James and John, came over for several days and always called before they came to let us know when they would be arriving. They showed up on time and ready to work. The quality of their work was outstanding and I tested the roof by spraying water on it and the gutters worked extremely well, just as advertised. Not one leak. I would highly recommend GutterMaxx for anybody needing good quality gutters, installed by professional, friendly, and very courteous employees.

I have the emails from Home Advisor that clearly state my appointment is at 10. One of them was a reminder letting me know my appointment was at 10. She tells me that's just a digital appointment, not a real appointment. Huh? Regardless, 11:45, she already knows they supposedly don't service my area, (San Antonio) and still had not called to inform me that the appointment was not going to met. Fromm their own Yelp page... "About the Business GutterMaxx, LP is a San Antonio, TX gutter installation company.. " Hello, it says a San Antonio company!! Save yourself some time and find a company that will respect a customers time. If they cannot even let you know before an appointment they are not coming, do not be upset if you hire them and they do not show up on time. Customer service starts before the sale.

I had a project done for a very large rainwater collection system (55,000 gallon tank) on my home. The installer for the rainwater system recommended American Hill Country Gutters for the gutters. This review is only regarding the gutter portion of the project by AHC gutters. Throughout the initial project Mr. Johnson was okay to work with, except for a few periods of long wait times, lack of communication, and an occasional grumpy attitude. I can certainly understand a few bad days, no problem. After the new installation, I discovered the elbows at the top were not secured, and a few splash guards were not working as expected. There was communication between my rainwater collection installer and Mr. Johnson about making the changes. I called Mr. Johnson to ask about his schedule, and I was surprised to hear they were coming that same day (luckily I was home). When his employees arrived they were very nice. Initially the employee thought he was only addressing a couple of elbows. I explained that all of them needed to be checked. I asked him if he could show me what he needed to do. I was trying to explain my concern about the removable screens that needed to function on the leaf eaters below the elbows. I asked if there was a way to make it work. His phone rang while I was standing there, and it was his boss Mr. Johnson. The employee handed me the phone. I was not prepared for what came next. Mr. Johnson proceeded to yell at me, belittled me, told me I was stupid for listening to other opinions, told me I didn't trust his guys, and told me to shut up and let his guys do their job. It was actually worse than that, but you get the picture. Then he to yelled at his employee as well. I was in shock. After going in my house to settle down for a bit, I came back out to work with the employee. I felt sorry for him for being part of this behavior. Once he was all done I thanked him for doing the best that he could. After having some time to reflect on this, I realize how bad the situation really was. It is possible Mr. Johnson wasn't happy that he was called to do this. Maybe he didn't think he should be fixing it. I have no idea. That's no reason to take out frustrations on his staff and the homeowner. I remained calm and professional to him, and his employee. I reviewed the whole thing on my ring camera to reflect on the incident. I am pretty sure I won't get an apology. American Hill Country Gutters will not be returning for anything in the future, which was probably Mr. Johnson's goal all along. In summary, if you consider a major rainwater collection system on your home, please do not use American Hill Country Gutters for that portion of your project. When you read the other reviews about rudeness by the owner, believe them. He will take your money for an installation, but if he has to come back to fix anything, he changes his attitude. He is not a nice person, especially to women.

I can't speak for there work quality but 1 star for there customer service responses on yelp. *Update* - the owner did reach out and sincerely apologize for the response and personally came out and spoke with me and quoted me on my roofing situation. I cannot say any bad about the effort that was put forward to rectify is initial problem. Quote was very well put together and he explained everything very well. Overall, I have raised my initial 1 star review to a 4 star for the effort he put into to make things right and to correct this issue from happening to future customers.

During the initial walk at our home they were able to point out a few areas where we were having soil erosion due to poor gutter placement. They adjusted the downspout locations to areas that would prevent further damage and protect our foundation. We went into this experience knowing that we wanted to change the color of the gutters. They helped us select one that would complement our paint and roof colors. We ended up upgrading our gutters as well by adding leaf guard which has been SO GREAT this spring because our old ones held a ton of leaves from our oak trees. During the actual work they were timely and professional. They responded to questions quickly and the whole process went very smoothly. We would highly recommend this company!

I strongly advise against using this company. They caused damage to my brand-new metal roof,…read morerequiring the roofing company to come back and make repairs. Additionally, this company had to return three times to address various issues--none of which were properly resolved. On their first visit, the crew arrived late and cut the overhang of my three-day-old metal roof with snips, leaving jagged edges as if they had used a chainsaw. They then installed the gutters too low, below the drip edge, causing water to flow directly over them instead of into them. On their second visit, they attempted to correct their mistake by repositioning the gutters over the drip edge. However, they failed to properly seal the holes left by their initial improper installation, only doing so when I was present. Once I stepped away, they cut corners and left gaps unsealed. They also failed to ensure the gutters had the proper slope, leading to pooling water. Additionally, they left screws loose throughout the gutters, every corner leaked severely, and they left sharp metal cuttings in my yard along with screws in my driveway. On their third visit, the owners, Ross and Glenn, came to remove the low-quality leaf guards they had attempted to charge a premium price for. This removal exposed excessive amounts of sealant inside the gutters, with multiple tubes seemingly used per corner due to the poor installation. When Glenn removed the leaf guards at the back of the house, he uncovered standing water and a significant number of screws left inside the gutters--yet he failed to remove or correct these issues. Given that this was their third visit, supposedly for a quality check, this level of neglect was unacceptable. This company does not even run water through the gutters to check for leaks. They rely on words rather than delivering quality service. While I do not blame the workers this is ultimately a failure of the company itself. Despite their warranty, I would rather pay another company to fix any future issues. In fact, I have already had to make corrections myself to address their poor workmanship. If I would have known the poor workmanship I would not have gone with this company. When Glenn removed the rear leaf guard, he left a handful of screws inside the gutter, which would have washed out onto my driveway--a serious safety hazard for my 75-year-old mother-in-law and my special-needs son, who frequently walk through the area which could have also ended up in our tires. The fact that the owner himself neglected to remove these screws, despite seeing them firsthand, speaks volumes about the company's lack of attention to detail and care for their customers. I still have to come back and re-slope three sections of the gutters because they were never properly sloped in the first place, causing several inches of water to pull up in there, creating a breeding ground for mosquitoes not to mention future damage to the facia board. If you are considering gutters, there are many other companies.
