On 5/17/2018, our journey began. Our pump had gone out. My patient husband went to this store and spoke to a Jordan G. With him, he took our pump, which had wires and NOT A PLUG. He also explained to Jordan that we had an inground hot tub. Jordan then ordered the parts required WITHOUT A PLUG. So much so, in fact, that it didn't have a third wire so we had an issue with which one was the "HOT" wire. My husband had to go back to Leslie's multiple times, at least 5 that I can recall, only to be told, "We have to order that part or parts and it will take 2 weeks." On one occasion, they didn't call us and we stopped in and one female who is there quite a bit that Jordan works with looked at him and said that this was back there a while. Until my husband was there today to take it all back, we had spent in excess of $1,440. The figure isn't exact because we have purchased chlorine and a fountain from Leslie's during this period as well because we believed they were helping us. Prior to today, the pump they gave us was for an above ground portable hot tub. My husband questioned it but figured Jordan knew what he was doing since he saw the original one and had ordered the first pump with wires. If it had worked with a huge bright orange extension cord running the length of our beautiful oasis in the backyard that was an eyesore, which it didn't, we would have had to figure out a way to wire it into the electrical panel. So, what my very patient husband learned on his own is that one multiplies the horsepower by the service factor the to get the size pump you need. This is a very helpful calculation. Jordan had sold us a smaller pump than we needed. He saw the original pump we brought in so why didn't he sell us 1) an inground pump and 2) the right size IN THE FIRST PLACE? My husband quietly said to me, "He'll make it right, honey." Remember, Leslie's has us for $1,440 before he takes everything back today. He just came back. Jordan said that 1) He didn't know we had an inground hot tub, 2) we had to pay an additional $400 for a larger pump. At this point, we are in for $1,840 which is about $900 over what any other pool store would have charged us to install the right pump and my husband has had to make multiple trips, stand out in the heat for hours/days trying to put the parts together that were wrong, has been nearly electrocuted because of the lack of wires on the first pump sold to us by Leslies. Bottom line: We will not be returning to this establishment. I don't know where we'll go and I know that people are human but the first or second time someone makes a mistake, that's a golden opportunity to make it right, Leslie's could have come out and looked at our situation personally. We shouldn't have had to pay anything today for the inconvenience that Leslie's Pools has put my husband through. We aren't angry and we wish Leslie's the best of success.
