Been going to this Leslie's for 4 years now and whenever I'm in a bind they always come through. This time a pvc pipe to my pool heater started leaking, I took some pics and brought it to Leslie's. New store manager Nicole stepped right up! I've never done any pool plumbing before but she talked me through the whole process from picking the right type of PVC and fittings to cutting and gluing/cementing it together. I was able to cut out the cracked pipe, replace all the fittings and get it up and running before my niece's 6th bday party! Since Chuck being gone, Nicole & Kyler are my trusted people. Kyler has been so sweet and knowledgeable & watching him grow in his profession has been a treat. I understand supply chain issues but ia lot of the items stocked here at Leslies - some of the prices have doubled and others have tripled! I think this is nothing more than corporate greed in my opinion because they have the items in stock - they're just charging a ridiculous amount of money for it. Had a wonderful experience at this store with Braeden. He was very helpful by testing our pool water and recommending the products that we would need to clarify the water. He even wrote down step-by-step instructions on what we would need to do to be able to get our pool beautiful again. He was very knowledgeable and professional. My husband loves shopping here. I called Leslies to come out to look at my Pentair 1.5 HP pump to ensure it was working properly. I was given a 5 hour window (on a Saturday) of which they were to arrive. I waited for the entire 5 hours and did not get so much as a phone call to inform me that they were not coming. If this were not the first time I would let it slide, however this has happened once before. The one start is for their lack of customer service attentiveness - it in no way reflects a technicians ability. That verdict is still out. I received a call the following Monday claiming that their Tech got sick. I can understand that, what I can't understand is why I was notified by a simple phone call. There is absolutely no excuse for that. Leslies: I am waiting for you comment to the above. read more

I live in Mira Mesa and was told by my local Leslie's Pool and that they could not help me and directed me to the La Mesa location. That place was hopping at 10 am and there were only two people working. They did an amazing job helping not only those in the store but also those blowing up their phones. Those two people, I did not get their names, deserve a raise and maybe a few more employees to assist them so they don't have to do the work of five people. Do not go to this location whatever you do. I used to go there when Chuck was behind the counter but he stopped being helpful and then the last two times I went there they made dangerous calculations on my pool chemistry. In December they told me I had low salt and they told me to add salt luckily I went to the Rancho San Diego location and it turned out my salt was actually pretty high. That was a red flag. There is no way to reduce your salt without partially draining your pool that would've been a huge inconvenience and expense. I just went there a few days ago and they told me my free chlorine was .9 and that I should go home and add 4 gallons of chlorine and that it was dangerously full of contaminants. I went home and added 1 gallon of chlorine and then waited to do some research and go to the Rancho San Diego store the next day to get it tested. As it turns out my chlorine must've been really high to begin with because after adding 1 gallon my free chlorine is now 5.41 which is far over The ideal range. Their testing equipment is flawed and these recommendations they are making can result in actual physical harm and harm to your pool equipment. Another odd thing: The girl behind the counter told me that San Diego has soft water because we've been getting our water from Northern California for the past 10 years and not from the. Colorado river. I thought that was odd and I went home and googled it and that is patently untrue. The guy at the Rancho San Diego store just laughed when he heard that. I now go just to the one store in Rancho San Diego where I can trust their equipment and advice and not put my equipment or my family's health in danger. read more

I've always been skeptical of Leslie's as the bad "corporate" pool store. And let's be real, they are corporate but when I can't reliably count on the smaller pool stores with funky hours and employees who are a little less knowledgeable, Leslie's comes through in spades. Particular shout out to Jahnathan (with an H) for being super helpful and cool with all my pool maintenance missteps that I come to him for help with. If you know what you need, this store has it. This is the worst company ever. I bought a pool heater and they recommended the wrong one and will not exchange it. I have never seen a company that behaves so badly. There are other reputable pool company's like Del Rancho Pool & Spa and they are professional and have good business practices. Leslie's Pool is a chain only interested in profits. The personnel at the Escondido store were curt, unhelpful and mean. Please do not patronize them unless you want poor service and unreputable business practices. read more

I came in last Sunday. Jonathan was super helpful and went the extra mile to help me get some hard to get fittings. He went to the Pentair catalog to get the actual original part numbers. Very professional and friendly. Great attitude! He then crossed those numbers over to two other manufacturers in case the originals weren't available. I came here looking for a air pump adapter for my very large pool float. While they do not sell that part, they did offer to inflate it for me. That was quite a surprise. As Andrew was filling the float, one of the other employees (forgot her name) cleaned off some dirt and grim from the surface. I have been here before and service is always great. read more

I am very impressed with manager Chuck and his crew at the La Mesa Leslie's Pool Store. I don't go in often, but when I do, I always receive the best service, and the employee's knowledge of their products is top notch. Because of their expertis, I called Chuck on a Wednesday afternoon for a quote on a pump and motor. Chuck explained my choices in detail and that he can have a technician out the next morning between 8:00 - 12:00 noon. Chuck explained that the technician, Brad, would call me 20 minutes before his arrival. The next day, Brad called around 8:45 am, removed the old pump and motor, and replaced it with the new one, and the job was completed within about an hour and 15 minutes. This whole experience was headache free and very professional. Thanks again, Chuck and crew!! read more

My gosh, talk about Dazed and Confused!!! Leslie Pool Supplies Rancho San Diego site is about useless!!! Ordered and paid for a new pool heater, install and haul away the old unit for almost $4300. In store manager Donald C gave us impression new heater was available 24-48 hours. Install guy came by, checked everything out, good to go, right, wrong!!! After eleven days of waiting info fm Donald, found out heater unit is 120 MONTHS back ordered. Called Leslie corporate that do looped us back to Rancho SD location!!!! My gosh!!! Not sure if anyone knows how to do business with exception of taking your $$$. Unhealthy customer. read more

We ordered a pump/filter for our pool in April. The technician that came out removed the old pump and did not finish installing the equipment. In addition he took out the current electrical work without notifying us. We finally got Leslie's to come out last week to finish the work they started and the new technician told he was not able to complete the job due to a missing part. We have been calling the store directly to get updates. My husband and I have spoken to Dawn to get updates and she says she will call back but never does. Dawn said it is not her fault there is a missing part and she is busy as customers in the store take priority. As of this review my pool does not have a pump/filter and I am very disappointed that Leslie's is not helping. We also called the corporate office and the separate customer service number. No help and no resolution. I have paid for a system that as of this time does not work. Update: Leslie's pool has reached out to me and have completed the job. I am happy to report that the pool is up and running. I will update my review to 3 stars due to poor customer service, lack of communication overall and time of project completion. read more

Chuck is super friendly at the store and on the phone. Very knowledgeable. I had a pump go out and Leslie's service came out to replace my single speed pump with a variable speed pump. Shawn was the service tech. Also friendly and courteous. He called he was coming and arrived on-time. I asked to include my DE filter to be cleaned (added cost of course, not a bad price). I had an issue with my pool light and even though I got to this pool store 1 minute before closing time VINCE was kind enough to stay passed opening time and help me out! Not only he helped me find the gasket I needed he went ahead and cleaned the light and put it together for me. That was beyond his job description! He also explained to me how to proceed with the installation of the light casing and how to check for problems. This was my first time at Leslie pools and it certainly will not be the last. I used to drive 15 minutes to a place I really liked but now i can go down the street confident that i will not only find the product i need but also get excellent and pleasant customer service! Came here as a new pool owner hoping to get some direction on what to do. Dawn assisted me on my first visit, helped with some basics and after a water sample, I found out my phosphate levels were 8x the normal range. She gave me the chemicals I needed to get that down and told me I needed to clean my filter after 48 hours of putting in the chemicals. Not knowing what cleaning the filter exactly entailed, Chuck was super patient and walked me through how to do it. He provided excellent detail and I could tell he really knew his stuff. He told me I would need new DE and after showing him a picture of my filter, recommended I replace my pressure gauge, explaining to me why it was important I had one that worked. I was super impressed with how much he seemed to care about me learning. Just went back today for another free water sample after doing their recommendations and cleaning out my filter. My phosphate levels were now very low, which is great, and the water was overall in good shape. Chuck gave me some more pointers to keep my pool in good condition and I was on my way. I am now feeling more confident about handling my pool and glad to have a place I can go to for help when I need it. read more

Just got home from an overall BAD experience at this location. First of all whoever that girl is with the curly hair is extremely lazy and seemed to just hide in the back of the store the whole time. Even when Chuck (the man "helping" me) was clearly busy and more customers were coming in forming a line behind me she just chilled in the back until he asked her to help and even then she walked up slow and with ZERO sense of urgency. She has terrible customer service..... Anyway, I went in thinking I just needed a couple things and ended up being convinced to buy all this other stuff that Chuck said I needed. Spent way more than I wanted but I still left feeling good as I had just replaced my pool water, I wanted to be sure i balanced it correctly, and I figured Chuck seemed pretty knowledgeable. I get home and am going through the test results and instructions for fresh water pool setup and notice a step for conditioner. I refer to the test results and it shows conditioner level at zero, Chuck never said anything about conditioner so I call still thinking that I was covered somehow in one of the other things he sold me. I was wrong, turns out I do need it! I'm upset at this point as I am far away from this store and am not able to leave me house, I explain it to him and he just gave a very ingenuine sorry and said come back. I mean, a mistake is understandable, but common.... At least offer a discount or some type of compensation for making me waste time/money/gas. I usually go to another pool store but decided to try this bigger chain store since I was replacing my water and figured they had more expertise. Instead I left having spent a bunch of money and am now extremely frustrated as I cannot even balance my pool for another few days when I have time to get to another pool store. What will happen to my water in the mean time? Who knows, I'm not the pro, they're supposed to be. I'll NEVER use Leslie's again. First and last experience. For a company so big and with so much money they could have done much more to help a customer out. Thanks for ruining my whole day!
