Always enjoy a stop by Leschi Market, usually starts with their house made chicken apple sausage, a great treat for a chill part of a breakfast in the weekend, but it rarely ends there. I'm always finding a new (for me) treat... this time it was their house made smoked salmon pasta salad... so delicious!! Another must try and another added tasty dish to pick up there. Lots of local beer, wine, and fresh produce. Always quick and friendly service and located just off the Lake Washington waterfront. A tightly packed full of groceries and goodness. It's become a regular stop. I had to debate if I wanted to share this hidden treasure or not. Cheers! read more

Someone called this market a bodega and I nearly laughed out loud. This a bougie wonderful market that is much more expensive than a bodega. I live near the market and I love being able buy most of my products without having go to QFC or Safeway. While I love the convenience, the prices can be pretty high. I bought one can of soda and the next day the price went to ten cents to almost three dollars a can. I get everything is getting expensive, but it still does hurt the pockets. I do recommend as they have a variety of meats, cheeses, wines, etc that make them a gem. read more

The deli food options here are fantastic! I especially like the premade salad dishes. They do awesome sales on their beer which my husband loves, and have an excellent wine selection which I appreciate. I also like the quality of the produce and the selection of locally made products. What a surprised to find this small but mighty litter grocer. It has my favorite French butter, a rarity, and the best handmade sausage in town. Its Italian wine collection is superb and the wine steward, supremely knowledgeable. read more

I was lucky enough to grow up in the 70's within walking distance of Leschi Market. It was awesome then and has never changed. One thing that has changed is that now I'm definitely old enough to buy wine there. They have an excellent selection and expert advice to make the right choice for the occasion. Another long time favorite is the butcher shop. Always good. Our go-to item is the hot bulk sausage. Terrific in patties for breakfast and a nice way to ahem -sorry- spice up a meat pasta dish. Highly recommended. Nice selection of organic and non-organic fruits and veggies. 'Friendly staff too. Love this place. I really prefer coming here to a small family owned market over any chain supermarket. It might be a little more spendy but well worth it. read more

Delightful market with good selection fresh fruit and veggies. The meat selection appeared to be very good. They have a very good wine selection. There are quite a few specialty items, sauces, juices and spices not usually seen elsewhere. I got some grab & go deli sandwiches that were very good. The employees are very helpful. I love this market. Was in the neighborhood jogging with friends along the lake. My car was parked nearby so I did a visit to see what's in the store. I bought rishi tea, local whole chicken, local honey, tri-color couscous.. this little neighborhood market has a little bit of everything. The aisles are narrow but the displays look nice. And the service is friendly. Definitely recommend shopping here if you're in the area. read more

I just moved to the neighborhood from Kansas City and the man checking me out from start to finish didn't say a WORD to me while he was having a full conversation with a rich blonde woman. Maybe it's being from the Midwest - but I think I'll stick to checking myself out at Safeway. A robot could easily do his job. People in the area were rude - I tried bringing my dog in, and people shout "service dogs only!" I left him in the car for 5 minutes and already another rich blonde woman was dragging some poor guy out to my car to I assume break out my windows. This neighborhood sucks. read more

I'd lived in the Central District for 3 or 4 years before I started going to this great local store. It has a kind of dumpy look on the outside. But it's one of the very few independent markets still left in Seattle. I wouldn't do a week's worth of shopping here as the prices on staples can be high. But for a quick load-up for dinner, or when I need just a few forgotten items this place is great. Also, as mentioned earlier, their wine selection is staggering. There are varieties and prices to please every palate and pocket book. Steve, the owner is always willing to give you a suggestion, and will sell at a case discount. They do their own butchering and you can get some really nice deals on steaks. They'll often sell odd shaped cuts at a discount. They make there own fresh meatballs which are great on Spaghetti. On Fridays and Saturday they cook excellent prime rib which sells out quickly. This is the kind of local place that is a real contribution to it's neighborhood and should be supported. read more

From the moment we walked in this place treated my son and I as though we got lost in a sundown town. Never going back. My kid had highly recommended this place because he spent a summer working for a marina near by but even he said the way they looked at us was strange and creepy. My son is of mixed race heritage. This is a pretty cool little neighborhood market. I frequently visit the area and on occasion prefer to pick up some food here instead of visiting one of the near-by restaurants. They have have some good items in their deli and an interesting cheese section, but I usually like to wander and pick up strange things like vegan jerky. I haven't found anything super awesome here, but it's a nice little market and they do have some good specialty items. I'd be happy to have it as an option near my home or work. read more

I always find whatever I am looking for here, no matter how unusual, gourmet or simple. Like Borax, dried porchini mushrooms, vinho verde, housemade chicken fennel sausage or fresh or imported pasta. If they don't have it, they can probably order it for you. My latest moment of appreciation, was finding that they now use compostable produce bags. That is so ahead of the curve - even the P.C. PCC is still using plastic. And if you want to reuse, they sell mesh produce bags, 3 for $2.99! What a nice little grocery store! My girlfriend and I were visiting her friend in Leschi, just outside of Seattle, and Leschi Market is just a mile or so from her house. They have everything that your national chain supermarket has, including a deli with prepared foods, fresh produce, and fresh meat and seafood! Beer and wine is also sold here. They even sell freshly sliced prime rib roasts on certain days of the week. It smelled amazing! This is a pretty small store located in a little plaza, so there aren't that many parking spots, but they have everything you would need. Their prices are a bit higher than traditional supermarkets, but it's not that bad! Well, except for the $11.99 pints of Jeni's ice cream?!?! Employees were very friendly and efficient with checkout. Brown paper bags are free, but they charge 10 cents for the large plastic bags. read more

My little sister's friend's big sister (I know, huh?) used to work behind the deli counter at the Leschi Mart and say to customers "Have a nice day. Fu*k you very much" And even though my sister's friend's sister hasn't worked there in 20 years, for that reason alone I have refused to shop at the Leschi Mart until late last year. Shut up. I know I'm an idiot. Wonderful house-made sausages, amazing Italian imports, and a wine aisle that makes me stop and read and drool. At first glance this place might look like a glorified 7-11. I've been here for odd and ends over the past year or two while I'm in the area. I actually did some grocery shopping today and am totally blown away by all of the random quality items they have here! I kept walking up and down the aisles multiple times finding new, fun items. Things you can't get at Safeway or whatever chain grocery store you may typically go to. I'm sad I don't live closer. Anyway, I got a bunch of organic produce, which wasn't outrageously priced. I bought some bulk Leschi sausage that I can't wait to try and some other meats from their meat section. They do have a wide selection of craft beer, cider and of course a whole aisle of wine! And they're non-alcoholic beverage selection is huge with lots of drinks I've never heard of before. Lots of prepared food if you're on the go. I saw some meatless sections for all you veg's out there. I like their selection of local products as well...something you'd expect from a neighborhood market I guess. I don't need another PCC or Whole Paycheck, but I do need and enjoy a local market that offers the staples and the little extras I need to feast upon. I also enjoy bi-monthly local gossip from the staff, it's a great extra perk. If you don't enjoy the delight of an old fashioned meat cutter in a super market then this place probably isn't for you. Steve and his family have owned this place for decades. They still stuff their own sausages, will smoke a turkey for you and stock ground veal, sausage and other parts for that special occasion. (Check the glace selection.) They have an extensive wine selection with a case discount per the request of locals over the last decade; it's not my thing, but it sure seems popular. The beer selection is only OK. The staff is great. I can resume a conversation a few weeks later as if we've never been apart. You can get great local political info as well - Steve used to be very active in Seattle politics. This place is the Cheers of local markets and we've been using them for nearly 20 years It's not a mega QFC or Whole Paycheck, but your local family run market. read more

God bless Leschi, a little corner of small-townish heaven just over the hill from the decidedly urban Central District, where I live. I walk a lot, and one of my favorite walks takes me over the hill along Lake Washington Boulevard to a little marina area lined with lakeside restaurants, a Starbucks, a bike store, and the Leschi Mart. This little grocery store has been around forever, as in several generations, and has the easygoing vibe and inventory of a store which hasn't had a mortgage payment in years. The main attraction here is the wine. They have a lot of selection, much of it highlighted with Wine Spectator ratings and reviews on little signs on the shelves. The Leschi Mart has everything you need for an impromptu picnic, whether you're on a date or just by yourself and want to enjoy a nice meal. There are pre-made sandwiches, salads sold by the pound, cheese, prosciutto, fresh fruit, sodas, gourmet chocolate, gluten free stuff, you name it. It also sells new and used books (for beach or boat reading), cheap kids' toys, grocery staples and things like sunscreen and diapers. Regular customers can have their groceries put on their account. The cashier pulls their card out of a box of customer accounts, writes down the amount of that purchase, and the customer goes on his way. I don't have an account there and don't plan to get one, but I like the idea that a store that keeps customer accounts on paper cards. Again, very small town. This isn't really a place to go grocery shopping. It's like an expanded general store/deli/wine shop. I do wish they'd clean the inside of their microwave once in a while, but it's part of the charm. read more

Great wine selection at amazing prices, and knowledgeable folks always around to ask about wine selection. There are always interesting locally produced items that may not get a chance at a chain grocery store. This is the antithesis of a chain grocery store in fact, having been run by the same family for 2 generations, I believe. The owner, Steve, is highly involved in the community. He is the founder of a crime prevention group and serves on the Seattle Neighborhood Group's board. They are an actual butcher, roast their own chicken everyday, prime rib on Friday and Saturday and make amazing sausages and bacon in house. There are pre-made sandwiches and deli salads available, great to grab for lunch or a picnic in the park. The ambiance is slightly shabby, and the aisles are a little crowded, but the staff is competent and always friendly. The prices are certainly less expensive than the next small grocery store down in Madison Park. This is a wonderful, well stocked neighborhood grocery store where they know the regulars names. If it is just busy in the lot in front of the store just park across the street. read more

This is where we buy most of our wine (and overflow grocery shopping when we forget something on AmazonFresh or we need something NOW rather than tomorrow or later in the day). Great wine selection, best prices in Seattle. Esquin beats some of their prices, and Esquin have more variety, but it is a hit and miss with Esquin. Leschi mart has a smaller collection but significantly and consistently higher quality wines. In terms of quality and price, there are no wine stores that can even remotely compete with Leschi mart. And no, you won't find the Lafite, Margaux in Leschi mart (although you will find high end bubblies). read more

One day before mask requirements went into place in Seattle , and at this store where the beloved owner died of covid , way way too crowded, complete Inability to social distance once you go inside.
