I stopped in here on my way home after discovering a problem with one of my tires. As my tires were relatively new I was hoping it would be an easy fix. The receptionist was friendly and although it was late afternoon on a holiday and I had no appointment she said they would be able to take care of it. There were at least three people in the waiting room ahead of me. After approximately 45 mins my vehicle was ready. The technician said the hole in my tire due to a nail had been fixed and my brakes were in decent shape. When I went to pay there was no charge. read more

My relatives had a loud noise coming from their tires. After inspection they told us that they knew the issue and for $1600 it would for sure be fixed. After working on it the issue was not fixed at all. They wrote up the report to make it sound like there were multiple issues and that one issue was fixed, which we felt was essentially a lie to cover their own you know whats. Had a private mechanic come look at it and found the problem right away and fixed it for under $200. He said "only a moron wouldn't know this was the issue". So this place is either incompetent or scammers. And heartless ones too, we are clearly not wealthy people. Beware. read more

Stopped by today to get a tire looked at and a rotation. They were quick and efficient and thankfully were able to repair damage from a nail. The counter person, who originally checked me in, said she would check with the shop. A shop guy then came in and told me that they were never notified that I was here for my appointment. I have 3 stars because they had good customer service and were able to keep up with the appointment time. The only thing that turned me off is how overpriced they are. They quoted my vehicle over $700 for brakes. After taking it to someone else, we not only paid $350 less than what Les Schwab would have charged and we found out the calipers didn't even need to be replaced. NEVER trust this place. The location we usually take our truck to referred us to this location as our truck was too large for their facility. We dropped the truck off at this location about 11:00 a.m. This afternoon we received a message that it was ready to be picked up. My husband went in to hear what they had to say and settle the bill. They tried to tell him the problem was with a part that happened to be brand new and just installed in July. Then they tried to tell him it was something else. They also did not do the alignment or rotate the tires. Needless to say, he was pretty upset by that point. To top it off, when we got the truck home, the security system was not working. He viewed the activity log and discovered they set and reset the alarm system a couple times before completely disabling it. When he called them to ask why their technician disabled our alarm system, they fed him some line about the tech thinking it was a tire pressure warning (instead of an alarm system) and he had to disable it to continue what he was doing. Never mind the fact that our truck was manufactured before those bells and whistles were even added to trucks. Their techs do NOT know what they're doing. Or they've got some sketchy back door dealings going on. read more

Took my vehicle in for suspension noise. Was quoted $500 +- to fix...Still suspension noise, they now found all bushings worn out.."How could we have missed that". the manager said/ We''ll fix it at cost...Guess what? another $500.00! Drove it around the block...sill clunked at every pot hole. Now..."Needs new upper ball joints" I asked about the lower ball joints and the mechanic assured me they were OK...Manager not around! Swear to God...bill came to another $500.00! Suspension noise diminished, but not entirely gone...I'd bet a Big Mac the lowers need replacement..but enough is enough. I've spent thousands on wheels, tires and a lift kit at this store... but no more...Don't even go back to have tire pressure checked. 100% either over their head or 100% incompotent. After waiting 3 1/2 hours at Walmart for them to check a flat tire for me ( unmounted and checked wrong tire) I drove down to Les Schwab to buy a new set of tires. I was extremely impressed with the hustle and professionalism of the staff of Spanaway Les Schwab. The young lady behind the counter(Shelbee) was extremely friendly, polite and courteous and actually cared about what I said. I will always trust Les Schwab for all of my tire needs. Reason number 384757 why you shouldn't text while driving: you'll slam your tire into a curb thus causing your tire to explode. I mean it won't cause a small hole in your tire but your tire will literally disappear and all that will be left is your rim. This is my story. Pathetic, yet true. I had notified my boss I would be late to work because I had to change my tire. I had no appointment I just drove my poor little Jetta in on her doughnut tire to the nearest Les Schwab location. Having previously purchased my tires at another Les Schwab location, I knew they were going to be able to fix it for free. Because nothing of the tire was left, I worried if this policy would still hold true. Luckily, it did. I walked in a showed the sales clerk what happened to my tire. They couldn't believe it. 99.9% of the tire was missing but they took my word for it and replaced the tire at no extra charge. They also rotated them and filled each tire to the appropriate amount. This was all within 30 minutes. Needless to say I made it to work on time :-) I continued to go back to Les Schwab for my snow tires as they had great customer service. While slightly more costly than getting them at other tire joints, I recommend Les Schwab over any tire company because their service is fantastic and warranty programs are unbeatable! read more

This has been my go-to tire shop for the past few years, and they continue to impress me with solid service, friendly and personable customer care, a "can do" attitude, and quality work that I trust my family's life with every time we hit the road. Tom Campbell is the manager and he embodies what Les Schwab wants to be to the community per their website: " ... our aim is still to be like a hometown neighbor -- reliable, valued, trustworthy." Tom and his crew are exactly that, and I value their knowledge, skill, and honesty like no other. In 2011, I sought out Tom's store to help me with "death wobble" which was causing a very dangerous situation with my 2008 Dodge Ram. They worked tirelessly after multiple visits to fix the problem and give me the best deal possible since it was not a cheap fix. They arrived early to accept the truck more than once, and made sure I could get it after dark. I no longer have the truck, but it sold me on their service. Tom's helped me with a set of used tires for my wife's car at a very reasonable price, and today he personally located and installed a set of like new tires on my vehicle. He understood I didn't have the money in both instances to buy new tires, and he ensured the tires he found were of high quality with considerable tread. Today, he personally siped them and made sure they were balanced properly. The ride home was smooth and quiet, and the tires he sold me were better than those that came on the Pathfinder. In fact, I drove the long way home just to enjoy them. He told me to bring back my wife's car to get the brakes checked and also said he'd personally check the tire tread on the next visit. There are many tire shops that dot the south Puget Sound area and each of them have skilled professionals who want your business. However, my family and I are steadfast, loyal customers to the Spanaway store because their customer care and technical skill are hands down the best I've experienced. I firmly believe Les Schwab himself would nod in approval if he were around today to watch how this store operates and I'd love to shake his hand and tell him thanks for visualizing and creating a business model that works well, and for bringing Tom up in the company to reflect his business ethic.. After taking my vehicle back yet again to this shop, they replaced the problematic pads with better ones at their cost, which seems to have fixed the issue. While I still went through the hassle of having to go back multiple times to get the problem fixed, they did persevere and fix it. Theresa R P was a big help yesterday. She ran up to my Jeep before I could park it. I explained to her that I had a crazy vibration around 60 mph. I noticed it after I had rotated my tires. I thought maybe my spare wheel had lost a counter weight. Theresa suggested that maybe I needed a re-balance of both my rear tires. I agreed and she proceeded to take charge. I waited for about 30 minutes and she had my tires balanced and on the vehicle. As she cashed me out I asked her how bad were the tire counter balance weights off and she said both were out of balance enough to warrant the vibrations I felt. Purchased a new battery with a 5-year warranty from Les Schwab because I thought they had the best warranties in the business. And in less than 4 years the battery failed. When I took it back to have it looked at I was told I needed a new battery but would not get a battery replacement, rather a credit of $24 towards a new one . It was not safe for her to drive on so we threw on the little donut spare. I called Tom at the Spanaway location, it was almost closing time. He didn't have what we needed on hand but he said he would find something first thing in the am. He of course contacted me first thing this morning. He went out of his way to find what we needed, and well below our budget which was much appreciated during the tight budgeted holidays! This is not the first time Tom and his staff have went above and beyond either, they do every single time. They treat us like family, really. I went to Les Schwab to have my studs removed and they discovered a problem when they went to mount our relatively new tires; Les Schwab tires. Part of the problem was our fault, but they stood by their product and we had to have 4 new new tires. They were fair, earnest, kind, and very helpful. Their assistant manager was the absolute best! We have been customers at this particular store for over 25 years...and I hope we get to give them 25 more years!! They are wonderful!! read more

Went in to have my flat tire fixed. Took a couple hours nothing out of the ordinary. Woke up the next day, and my tire was flat again. Went back and sat for another couple hours. They fixed it again. Then I noticed a clicking thumping type sound coming from the tire they had fixed. Went in again a couple days later, another couple hours sitting there. Then they quote me around $450 and tell me my cv joints needed to be fixed. Didn't seem right to me since they just did some work on the tire and that's when the noise started. I took it down the street to have a second opinion and "mysteriously" the brake caliper clip was missing. $9.50 for the part, around $45 for labor. Total for taking my flat tire to Les Schwab (including their flat tire repair price) around $70 and around nine hours of my time. Lesson learned! No more Les Schwab for me! read more

If you go to this Les Scheab location, be prepared to wait at least a hour, they are always busy- there have been times Ive gone here and waited 2 to 3 hours to get the issue resolved, but in the end, always have received great and friendly service from them. If time is of concern though, I would recommend going to the Les Swab on Canyon Road, which is not to far from this location. read more

I understand why businesses would reach out to someone who has negatively reviewed them, but it goes without merit when most of the reviews are negative. Perhaps a more proactive approach may work better. The specific issue with this location is its lack of integrity, and honesty, which leads to a lack of trust by the consumer. This is something a simple phone call with some generic offer of 10% off your next purchase won't fix. When anyone enters a repair place, they trust that the person will treat the, honestly and provide good advice, not try to take advantage of a presumed ignorant customer. I love this Les Schwab Tire Center! I woke up one morning to find my tire was seriously low on my year old car. I took it in one a really busy morning with my two children in tow. The poor frazzled woman said she'd try really hard to fit me in as quick as possible but they were swamped. I sat down to wait (kids loved the popcorn!) and resigned myself to a few wasted hours. Every worker that walked by said hi or waved to my kids before hurrying on their way which made them feel special. Less than 40 minutes later she informed me they found a small puncture hole in not only the back tire but the front tire as well. It looks like I ran over glass or nails. They fixed both FOR FREE and sent me on my way with a smile. These people are amazing and really understand the meaning of customer service!! I almost wish I needed tires just so I could go back to them. read more

I came here on August 18th, 2014 to find out why my brakes are squeaking. I'm not good with names cause if I did, I would have mentioned them here. Anyways, it took them about 30 to 40 minutes to check why my brakes were squeaking. The guy came in and told me that "everything was good" from my front brakes to my rear brakes. The only thing I needed was a brake fluid flush and rotor rotation and I also asked since everything was "GOOD" that if they can resurface my rotors for me & he was gladly willing to do that as well. This was a total of 152.00 after taxes. When it was my appointment time I waited for 2 almost three hours here. My phone rang and the guy that was working on my brakes mentioned that my brakes needed new rotors because it was below the minimum mileage to even resurface them and it cost a total of 250 something dollars to replace my rotors and the fluid flush. I then took a walk back to where he was working at to see what he really meant. I told him the other guy that helped me said that "Everything was Good" and that all I needed was new fluid & rotor rotation and rotor resurface that I asked for. I was very upset that I took their first word saying that "Everything was Good!" So they wanted to charge me an extra 100dollars for more service. I told them to jus flush my fluid and bring my car back to the front. This was only 58 after taxes. I shouldn't be surprised because its always like this at every auto repair or brake shops. They're always trying to make more money and fix more than what needs to fixed. I did not replace new rotors here because if one guy say everything is good with my brakes, what makes me think the other guy is saying the right thing on what is wrong with my brakes!?!! I used to buy all my tires from Les Schwab AND even their batteries. NOT ANYMORE!! Here's why-NO more FREE flat tire repair, unless it's THEIR brand! You used to be able to go in ANY store with ANY tire and they'd fix it for free. Don't know when THIS policy changed, but it sucks! How do I know it used to be free, that's how I bought my first set of tires. They told me they'd fix my flat (not their brand), "just make sure the next set of tires you buy is from us." I said "sure, I planned to anyway." Which I did. That was over 9 years ago. I bought my second set from them shortly afterwards and it was still in effect, this was around the same time. Fast forward to about 2 months ago, one of my tires on my new vehicle (not their brand) was flat, so I took it in to have it repaired...to my surprise it cost me $15.00!! I said-"it used to be free, when did this change." The guy never answered that, but the gal standing in the back said-"save this receipt and you can get your NEXT one for free!!" Well, there isn't going to BE a "next time"!! I also had purchased batteries from them, but after the last incident-NOPE!! I took a battery from wife's van in to get it replaced, it was still within the "time limit" and they wanted to argue the point of it being out of the "time" to exchange it for a new one, instead they would pro-rate for the years it was used. I don't know who started this whole "pro-rate" on batteries, but it seems to be spreading like cancer. EVERYONE that sells batteries has jumped on this band wagon, but here's why I'm upset with Les Schwab about THEIR "pro-rating". I contacted the AG office in the state of WA. and when Les Schwab said their piece it came back as-"Mr. ........ said he needed a new battery, but the one he brought in was for vehicle X when it was actually for vehicle Z." That is a total and outright LIE!!! Don't know WHERE they GOT their info from, but it's TOTALLY off from the truth, and I wasn't given a chance to give a rebuttal, so now it looks like I'm the "bad guy". I can only imagine how Mr. Schwab would be feeling right now if he were still alive....NOT very good. So much for a "family friendly business". I'm only giving them a ONE star rating because it's the lowest I can go...otherwise I wouldn't give them ANY!!!! read more

Took my truck here for a front end alignment. Truck was no better. Took to another shop that found bad inner tie rod ends. Had them replaced , but they didn't do alignments. Took it back, told the manager if the "tech" would have even looked he would have seen the bad tie rod ends, and the manager told me to leave. I was vacationing in WA and had a warning light come on after having a oil change at another location. Thomas the manager researched the correct oil for my Dodge Sprinter diesel engine emptied the wrong one and refilled it to the correct level and had me back on the road safely in no time. I can not recommend this location enough. They calmed my concerns and were over the top nice and professional. It is so refreshing to find good honest people to do business with. I came here for new tires on my 2004 Xterra. I drove nearly an hour each way because I'd heard a lot of good things about this store. Everyone was very friendly & helpful. I knew I would be spending a lot since I wanted tires that would work well in all types of weather, & on some ungraded dirt roads on my Montana property. I was pleasantly surprised when the price came in at significantly less than I spent on tires 5 years ago! I had great service & friendly staff. I asked if i could drop off the tire and pick it up tomorrow to give them time to get it done. They said they would. I am now here and waiting 1 1/2 hours like everyone else who walked in. I only asked for my front tires to be changed due to camber wear, come back two hours later, ALL FOUR WERE CHANGED. AND MY BACK TIRES WERE WORTH $$$$. Why the heck would I throw away GOOD TIRES. Just spend 3 hours at Les Schwab Tire Center 16819 Pacific Ave S Spanaway, WA 98387-8299 (253) 535-5300 Never will I set foot in that business again. I took a tire in for flat repair @10:48am the lady said it would be an hour, fine I'll wait. One hour no tire, two hours pass no tire, three hours pass no tire until I was hovering around the counter to asked about when my tire would be done. The first tire they bought out, not mine. So, it took about 5-10 minutes for them to find my tire. Seven people walked in and out during that time 3 hours, getting full sets of tires on their cars. When I got home, looked at the invoice my tire was ready at 11:27am. So, I went back and asked for the manager, the same lady who gave me my tire said I'm the manager. So, I said can you explain this to me. She sat there and lied through her teeth, saying they called me twice. If you have ever been in there, there is no way they called my name. Any time someone walks in from the bay with an invoice in there hand, you can hear a cricket fart, because every person waiting is listening for their name. If she'd have said " I apologize for the mix up or anything other than we called you twice", I'd have believed her. Never ever will I set foot in the store, I'll drive 50 miles out of my way first. And I will tell this to every person I meet if the subject of tires comes up. UPDATE: Posted this on the corporate FB page and got a call within a hour or so. The gentleman apologized and said this is not customer service and it will be addressed. I may get a call from the store manager, I may not. Adjusted rating from 1 to 2 stars, because of the phone call, not the store. Will adjust further if I get a phone call from the store. ADDITIONAL UPDATE: The store manager called and apologized. I'm may forgive and walk into that store in the future. He brought up further customer service training for all their employees. And quite frankly bottom line is good customer service costs little to nothing, bad customer service may cost you the whole business. read more
