I came in with the intent to only replace one tire but with further inspection was recommended to have all 4 tires replaced on my 4 runner due to the inside of the 3 tires I was not planned on replacing going bald. I was baffled to be informed of this especially since we just had our car serviced 9 days ago at Titus Will Toyota for a full service, I informed them of my concerns about the car driving and if they recommend I replace all 4 tires or just the one with the spare; long story short Titus will said only the one tire not 4. 9 days later, I come to discount to get the one tire done just to be told it is highly recommended to change all 4 due to the baldness of the tires. At first, I'm not going to lie, I always feel like coming into repair places they're always trying to get the most of my money, so I heavily questioned Casey on his reasoning on why I needed to replace the tires and to my surprise, he was able to show me proof and had me get down on the tire level like he did so he could show me in person instead of just photo of how the tires look on the inside. The inside was getting near bald despite the rest of the tires looking fine so I'm glad he thoroughly had assessed my tire because this could've been very bad if those tires were to give out or fail while I'm driving, let alone breaking with my toddler in the car. Casey was able to get me a better deal on replacing all 4 of my tires and still ensured the tires I got were to the highest standards I need for everyday use. Overall very thankful and happy with my service here. Also side note: I believe his name is Kohl or Kolby(?) anyhow, a customer had come into the discount tire and kind of wasn't being the nicest with him, but despite that he remained calm and tried to explain everything to her. She still was pretty upset and told him that she didn't like the way he was talking to her (he never changed his tone, honestly if anything this dude was killing it with kindness) and even at the end when she was like "no I want you to look at my vehicle" he still said "okay, just please drop of your keys and we will take a look. They offer free air check and very reliable prices for their tires. I always buy the road hazard insurance because it offers peace of mind. If you drive a AWD vehicle and have an issue with one tire this plan really makes a difference. I f your tires are 3/32 different between your other tires and a new tire you need to replace all of them on a AWD vehicle If you bought the tires warranty you're able to get them all replaced. Two nights ago, I had a tire with only 7,300 miles on it tear when I was just outside of Vancouver, WA.. I could not drive on it so I had to be towed to a Discount Tire store at the Plaza location. They did not have the exact same tire but they had one with the same exact size but from a different manufacture. On the way back home to Puyallup, I noticed a vibration in the steering wheel that wasn't there before. So today, the Discount Store on South Hill in Puyallup asked me to bring the car in. Since this is a high performance car, they thought it best to balance all 4 wheels to make sure everything was as accurate as possible and they did not charge me. During the time I was there, I must have spoken to 3 employees and each one of them took the time to explain exactly what they were doing and they were all on the same exact page. As a former customer services manager, I was quite impressed with everything about this crew. And importantly, I could tell the difference in how the car performed within a one block distance. These cars are so well balanced that any slight change and you can tell. In truth this car may be driving better now than when I first drove it off the new car lot. This is the third time I've been up there to have him. Fix the same problem. They're nice up front, but they tend to overcharge. Their quality is really fallen off over the years. The young staff tend to be very rude. In a sense to older people and tend to try to take advantage while I was standing there. Elderly woman was there, and he was trying to upsell her to some extremely expensive tires. The lot was a mass full of old pieces of tires and stems and other metal objects thrown about. They were more interested in strutting around. And then actually being a tire shop. The Federal Way store when I was there. Last time was much more clean, thorough and more helpful. We had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience at Firestone with our last dually, they put the weights on incorrectly and put the inner tires on backwards, I was there for SIX HOURS and I STILL had to take it back because they didn't do the alignment correctly and told us to just take it to a Chevrolet dealership. Went there to get my winter tires installed by appointment. After 1.5 hours they gave me my vehicle back with TPMS sensor light on. The guy at the bay told me to "drive 15 miles" to see if TPMS monitor will relearn and the light will turn off and emphasized that they "didn't touch the sensors". After 30+ miles of driving the light was still on. I hooked up my scanner and found out 2 out of sensors couldn't be recognized by the pressure monitor. After the a quick inspection I discovered one side of my vehicle had the different tire valve stems & caps from different vehicle, that were never programmed to work with my car. Going back tomorrow to hear that I need to replace all 4 of them, because they went bad all the sudden. Sounds like a pretty popular "mistake" to take you hard earned money for TPMS sensors & labour. Bought 4 tires for my vehicle and right away the tps came on. Took it back they admitted they didn't calibrate my sensors. So they did and ever since my tps and low air sensor come on weekly. I have only had them for about 4 months and it's exhausting to keep adding air. Their tires were not cheap either! I was told my slow leaking tire had a "nail in an area of the tire that couldn't be repaired" and so I had to purchase a new tire. First, I purchased and scheduled my tires online for a brand new car that came with summer tires. Being in Washington going into fall I wanted a good all season and their website was excellent in helping me find the tires I wanted. It was a real bonus that they had the tires I wanted in stock and the pricing as excellent. Now, the store experience: I went in for my appointment and the store was slammed, waited about 15 minutes to get checked in but the wonderful young lady service writer told me since I had scheduled it would be around an hour to get out. Also, had to make sure they knew I wanted to keep my summer tires since I would swap them back in late Spring, she even figured that was the case given the car as brand new (300 miles on it). I had my son ready to drive the one of my jeeps up if the tires did not fit in the car but I figured they would with the seat down, although I forgot anything to protect the fabric from the tires so that was on me in my opinion. 45 minutes later my car was ready to go, the tires were put in the car for me, each one individually wrapped in a plastic bag to protect the fabric, outstanding. I called Friday and made an appointment for Monday at 815. When I got here I was greeted at the tent they have set up in the parking lot where the employees do what seems to be phase one of their check in process- he was friendly and helpful. Later I was checked in by another member of the staff and payment was taken care of. My car was pulled in at 835- a bit past my appointment time but nothing crazy given they are doing their best with Covid. The work was done well and to the same bar as always. So grateful to the amazing staff at Discount Tire. I have an AWD vehicle, so when there's a problem with 1 tire, I am highly encouraged to replace all 4 which costs a pretty penny when you live somewhere with constant flat/blown tires. I was refused from 2 other car shops who wouldn't even hear me out before I decided to give Discount Tire a try. The second we walked in, they were attentive and kind. Hector understood our situation, helped us out immediately, found the tire needed for my car and said they would MATCH THE TREAD!!! I was able to walk away with a brand new tire that matches the tread on my other 3, something 2 other car shops refused to do, and it's covered under warranty so I'll get a free one if this one pops too. When we came to pickup, the place was decently busy but Jimmy helped us immediately and we were out the door in 30 seconds flat. I have never had such a pleasant experience at a car shop, especially as a female. I didn't feel dumb or taken advantage of, which is extremely refreshing.
