The flavor profiles here are…read moreincredible -- every dish feels thoughtful, unique, and packed with bold Southeast Asian-inspired flavors. It definitely leans more on the $$$ side, but the quality and overall experience make it worth it for a special night out. The vibe of the restaurant is one of my favorite parts though. It has such a warm, stylish atmosphere that feels both upscale and welcoming at the same time. The lighting is cozy, the decor is beautiful without feeling overdone, and the whole space has a trendy but relaxed energy that makes you want to stay awhile. It's perfect for date nights, catching up with friends, or celebrating something special without feeling overly formal. The staff has always been friendly and attentive too, which really adds to the overall experience.

First, I really wish we had been provided ice for our water since it's served from their room temp tap water vase setup. Also, the menu is VERY hard to read and I had a lot of questions about the ingredients. I just don't feel like our server walked us through the dishes/options very well, which would've helped a ton for first timers! Also, I wanted to try the Massaman for yummy brisket, but sadly they were out of it and didn't let us know until we tried ordering this meal. I wish they were proactive about letting us know it's out. With that being said, the food itself was still very yummy overall! For apps, the Siin Swan (beef jerky) is a MUST! It was a huge portion for the price and honestly one of the best values on the menu. The Thai basil wings were also incredible and definitely worth ordering here (or at Gai Noi or Lat14 if you've never had them before), they're so flavorful and crispy! For the "shareable" dishes, we ordered the green curry octopus and scallop crudo. I'm normally terrified of octopus/tentacles, but this dish was actually super good! The potatoes, peas, and bacon alongside it were delicious. The only thing missing was the green curry sauce didn't have a ton of flavor, which could've been the wow factor that pushed the dish over the top. The scallop crudo was a beautiful presentation, but looked nothing like the photos on Khâluna'a website. It's served cold in a chilled coconut lime broth. I personally LOVE lime and enjoyed it, but everyone else at the table thought it was overpowering. Also, the portion size was shockingly tiny for a dish labeled "to share" and costing $30+. These definitely felt more apps (or even individual entrees) than table shareables. I wish they changed this! The Laksa entrée was SO yummy! The peanut/chili tasting curry broth poured tableside was such a fun touch, and I appreciated it being served separately. Perfectly cooked shrimp, tofu, and all the toppings made this dish one of my favorites of the night. The bucatini, which I believe is one of their signature dishes, was also excellent, but definitely not your classic Italian bucatini, so just know that prior to ordering! It had chili/onion crunch toppings and a very undercooked homemade noodle, but somehow still worked because it was lightly sauced yet packed with flavor. Super unique and delicious! For dessert, the pecan shortbread was amazing with a homemade chocolate mousse that was TO DIE FOR! Don't skip this! Overall, really good eats, beautiful atmosphere, and creative dishes, but definitely a bit hit-or-miss when it comes to portion size and value for the price. I'm curious how their brunch is next!

We were graciously greeted upon entering and offered complimentary shrimp chips as soon as we seated ourselves. We ordered the egg rolls, OG wings, crispy rice salad, and grilled short ribs! We enjoyed it all! especially enjoyed the egg rolls and accompanying sauce, the crispy rice was full of herbs and Lao sausage and the OG wings are crispy, well done and come off the bone easily! (might be considered a bit salty for others due to fish sauce) but not for me! The short ribs were also good - just wished they had more grilled/craggy texture since they said "charcoal grilled" but they were very tender! The sticky rice and tomato jeow that came with the ribs was also very good if you can handle the spice of the jeow The lager was given "on the house" and is super light and complimented our meal perfectly. The standout here was definitely the service and hospitality! This is a family owned restaurant and it was obvious they take tremendous pride in serving you their modern take on traditional Lao dishes! The restaurant is small and informal but all around pleasant and delicious! Will be back!

Chive cakes had a nice chewy texture inside and crispy outside from being fried. The noodle soup bowls here are a great portion size... they range from regular-L-XL. Regular was a good size for my friend and I, especially when combined with our apps. The roasted chicken was tender and had really good flavor and color. Both noodle soup broths are on the sweeter side. Overall would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to try Cambodian food for the price, quality, and portion size.

The food was great, we got two dishes, a salad and a noodle soup. Everything was delicious, the soup was hot and fresh, a bit sweet but easily customized with some chili oil. The meat dishes were very good, several came with limes or a lime dip which gave a really fun, balanced tartness to the meals. Very casual, we brought our baby and found the place very family friendly, even though our baby was a bit fussy during dinner. Definitely check out this MN staple restaurant!

I remember noting that the crispy pork belly bits were some of the best I have had but I couldn't finish them all because they were too oily. Well this time, they were not too oily, and dipping them in the sauce I could finish them easily. However, they also didn't taste that outstanding. They were still really good, juicy, tender, succulent, etc., but just didn't have the wow factor that I had in the North Loop location. The Hmong sausage came with spicy chili oil which was very spicy for me, but the sausage did have its flavor elevated with the sauce. The chicken was as good as I remembered and I would still recommend eating it with the provided sauce. In April, they had bao poon as well, which was due to a collaboration with Bao Bao Buns, and the buns tasted pretty good. The bao poon had chicken, curry, coconut, bamboo shoots, herbs, and some spices, so it tasted like it didn't actually need additional sauce. But dipping it in the chili oil did offer a different experience which I also highly appreciated. Finally, I don't think I see the coconut tapioca pudding dessert anymore, and I remember not enjoying it last time. Just an observation. I also just checked UHK's website and it looked like they had revamped their North Loop location menu, so returning would actually mean a brand new menu. I look forward to returning sometime!
