I think the establishment needs better ventilation as you reek of oil after only being in there to wait for your food. No fortune cookies!?!? Rude. The food tasted ok and the quantity was good. It arrived hot. I got broccoli and beef, it was difficult to eat due to the size of the food. The broccoli was in huge chunks and so were the pieces of meat. Not very manageable. So I cut everything into smaller pieces, which also helped so there's more to eat with the rice. It didn't have much sauce. Everything needed salt. Rice was hard. And the beef almost seemed like it was microwaved from frozen. When I called and ask about silverware I was told that they did not include silverware in delivery orders? When I asked if she knew where the order was being sent she said yes, and then told me that including silverware would make too much work for her! I got takeout at 8:30 pm on a Wednesday. I ordered chicken curry and Hot and sour soup. The curry was ok - the sauce was kind of slimy though due to the thickening agent they used and didn't have much curry flavor. The hot and sour soup was terrible- one small bite and tossed the rest. I am pretty particular when it comes to my Chinese food. If you're looking for the best tasting Chinese takeout in Mankato, you have found it. I mean it's really not hard to beat Panda Express, but WOW. Might be some of the best Chinese food I've had in my life. The sesame chicken is PHENOMENAL. The chicken is lightly crisp just how it should be. For all you noodle lovers, the lo mein is pretty good here but I think the Singapore Mei Fun is the best noodle dish they have. Hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant in Mankato. When I was a student, this was my place to go almost once a week. Lunch specials are amazing! If you want your food quick, call before you come to pick it up because they make everything fresh! Not the best place to eat-in, but give it a shot for lunch sometime and you won't be disappointed. There's a girl working at this restaurant every weekend who seems to be around 13, significantly below the working age. She acts cold and unhappy (and other reviews on google have commented about this too), so it seems likely that she is not there by choice, but by force, probably from a parent or guardian. While I know having your kids help out at your restaurant is not uncommon, this girl seems to be working all weekend, which is incredibly cruel in my opinion. While I don't have any serious problems with the food here, I believe that treating a child this way is in no way justified and I cannot support the practices of this restaurant. And while this is not technically a review of the food here, receiving service from a child is unsettling and made my experience at this restaurant uneasy at best. read more

Update: ordered tonight over the phone, had a cab service deliver. Received not one, but two wrong orders out of three dinner specials ordered. Here's the deal beyond the fact that their employee said she didn't know what I ordered after taking my phone order, how does that work anyways? She sent out chicken and broccoli when I ordered sesame chicken, the two don't sound anywhere alike... she sent out schezuan chicken and beef when I ordered Hunan chicken and beef. How does that even happen anyways? Beyond the screwy order take a look online at what the food you're ordering should look like and what you're getting here isn't it. Sczechuan chicken is supposed to be breaded in sauce with green onions and a chili garlic sauce. What I received was a pile of mushrooms, cabbage, water chestnuts, pea pods and a few pieces of fatty un breaded chicken in a non descript brown sauce. Seriously, beyond Americanized Chinese food like sweet and sour, egg foo young, sesame chicken, general tso's, etc... this place apparently just throws some vegetables in with meat and calls it something thinking you're enough of a rube that you won't know the difference. This is one step up from Panda. It should be considered strictly a take-out place. You can sit down there, but it has the atmosphere of a tire repair shop. The food is prepared freshly, which is its saving grace. But don't hope for some great meal. The sweet n sour chicken was cubes of chicken in thick breading, deep fried, with red sweet sauce. No sour to be had. The cashew chicken had 4, count 'em, 4 cashews. Flavor of both was reasonable, better than Panda. Again, freshly prepared, which counts. But it was, essentially, industrial Chinese food--won't kill you, but you won't write home about it. read more

This is one of the best values for the money in Mankato. For about $6 at lunch, or $8 at dinner, you get a good 2 meals worth of hot, fresh Chinese food, all made right when you order, plus fried rice (veggie at lunch, chicken at dinner) and your choice of egg roll or 2 crab rangoon. The food is extremely good, but the reason I give it a 3 star is because they never call you when your food is ready. You have to assume it's ready and call them. By the time you get there, the food is cold. If you order inside, then the food is really good... I really recommend ordering in person. read more
