WORST PANDA IN AMERICA. Me and my partner travel the country for work and trust me when I say we have had panda in almost EVERY place we stayed. If I could give a negative star I would. The orange chicken tasted weird almost like it's been left out. They only gave us SPOONS to eat our chicken and noddles. my husband and I drove up to the drive through to order and my husband said "I want a plate with 2 orange chx." And the girl who took our order(trinity D) says "what do you want on your plate" in a rude tone, and my husband repeats himself and she said the same thing so I assumed she was trying to ask if he wanted rice or noodles so he said noodles. She then said very rude "anything else" and as we ordered every single thing she repeated that same thing about 4 times. We then went up to the window to get our food and the order was wrong, which is completely fine, but when we told her it was just supposed to be noodles instead of rice she said "well that's going to be five minutes" and we were like "thats ok" and she says "are you ok with that" and we said "yeah" again, and then she told us to pull around the front and wait for it. So we waited five minutes and then my husband went inside to see what the hold up was since all we needed fixed in the order was a cup of noodles instead of rice, 20 minutes went by and he came back outside upset and said they were ignoring him so he couldn't even talk to someone (at this point we still didn't get our food and we had paid for it already) so he got back in the car and we went back through the drive thru and sat there for awhile and nobody came to the window. Eventually another car was behind us so they had to come up to the window so then the girl said "they just tried to bring your order out but you weren't there" which never happened because we could see through the drive through to the parking lot. We were polite the whole time, just right off the bat when we ordered the girl was rude and When corrected on a mistake it was the biggest deal in the world apparently. read more

Panda used to be pretty good but has lost all of its touch except the orange chicken. The fried rice isn't fried rice. It's veggies and eggs thrown in with white rice and it's either under cooked or overcooked. It tastes horrible. I'd like to see the company come back and make sure their employees know how to actually cook their food the right way. read more

Got here 45 Minutes after opening & they still didn't even have half the food items ready to go. Had to wait about 20 minutes to receive my order as they had to cook it as I was sitting there. Place was clean but as they had just opened less than a hour ago that was to be expected. Absolutely the worst Panda Express in America. They should remove the "Express" part of the name and just call it Panda. Or maybe Leisurely Panda. Or Incompetent Panda. I've never seen such slow service at a "Fast food" restaurant. Most Pandas are so fast by the time you pull up to the window to pay for your food it's already on the plate and they're handing you the bag. Arrived at 7pm on Sunday 6/17 and they were out of many entrees. No drive thru, since An employee's car blocked the drive thru. I asked why and was told they were going to close early since they were short handed. No sweet and sour sauce for my egg rolls. The entire place was very dirty. Trash and food under and on most tables. Chunks of food (that was likely several day's old) was on the window ledge where we are. The drink station has soda splashed everywhere including the sticky floor. The windows were covered with a day's worth of smears and fingerprints. Both restrooms were filthy, and my wife said the women's restroom was out of paper towels so she couldn't wash her hands. Summary: if you can't staff this place with competent employees, take a wrecking ball to it. Absolutely awful dining experience. read more

This location used to be great but the new staff seem to be too lazy to work. I understand that fast food business well but if you do not want to cook the food or even fill the ice machine, go work somewhere else. We waited for 20 minutes for our food which never even came to our vehicle through the drive through, I had to get down and wait 10 more minutes inside because they didn't even START my order yet! I don't typically leave reviews but this one is pretty deserving. I ordered through the drive-thru this afternoon around 1:30. When I placed my order, the girl who took it wasn't bad. She seemed pretty polite. When I ordered my fountain drinks she told me that there was no ice, I told her that was fine (I have purposely ordered drinks with no ice before, they're still usually pretty cold. Nope. This was lukewarm, like it had been sitting in a warm car all day). I ordered a kids meal with a bottle of apple juice to which she told me there would be an upcharge, again, didn't mind. When I got up to the window, the girl who had taken my order was immediately rude. I noticed on the receipt after I paid that she had gotten my order wrong, so when she handed me my food, I asked her about it. She said "Yeah that's what you ordered". Instead of apologizing and correcting the problem, she proceeded to become argumentative with me that I had ordered something other than what I know I did. I order the same thing every time, trust me, it definitely wasn't on my end. Then she basically demanded the wrong order back (which I wasn't planning on keeping anyways), slammed the window, then came back a few seconds later with the right order and gave me an overly-sweet sounding but obviously sarcastic "thank you!" Before once again slamming the window. In my opinion, if she's going to be working at a drive-thru window she should have better customer service skills. That alone makes me not want to return. I also noticed I was charged full price for the bottle of juice, so I was jipped out of the fountain drink that was supposed to come with the kids meal, but whatever. Anyways, now onto the actual food. My orange chicken was way too crispy and hard, tasted old. The noodles were dry. Again, pop was warm and gross, and the cream cheese rangoons were old and tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. Altogether this place was pretty awful. This is the first time I have tried Mankato's location and it will be the last. I won't be returning. Sioux Falls' is much better. If I want Panda Express from now on I will be going there instead, even if it is further of a drive for me. read more

After a bad experience a couple of months ago, I decide to give it another try. Got to the window, given my soda, no ice because the ice machine was broken. If I'd known that, I wouldn't have ordered. I get home with my lukewarm beverage, and find my rangoon burned beyond being even close to edible. The orange chicken was crunchy. White rice tasted like it had been boiled in old oil. Pepper chicken was horrific. Celery and onions tasted like old oil. I couldn't eat more than a bite of any of it. This was at 11:30am. They'd only been open for a half hour. Things should be fresh at that point, you'd think. Such a shame. When the Mankato site first opened, it was amazing. It was my go to. Worst Panda Express location I've ever been to. It's rather new, so it could just be growing pains, but the staff are inexperienced and the drive thru is horrible. I ended up waiting for the truck ahead of me for what seemed like 10 minutes, and then when I came up they already had my food bagged up and ready to go. Except, I could tell they prepared my food while serving the truck, and it was cold and lackluster. I mean come on, really? The food wasn't even that good - I'd suggest going to Leean Chin if you're looking for some kind of chain-Chinese food. China Star is much better. read more

This really deserves no star at all I am beyond upset. I love Panda Express. But this one in Mankato is aweful. Let me repeat. AWEFUL. I was on my lunch break today and the place had maybe like 3 customers inside and one other in the drive thru. I waited almost 10 mins just to order because they said they need a minute. Then I finally order and they said, "it'll be a 15 min wait". WHAT ur telling me u made me wait in this line just to get told to wait longer. I didn't have that kind of time and usually at panda they tell you when they said they need some time on some of the entrees. And they even sassed back at me saying "how was I supposed to know what u wanted". It's not about that. It's about telling someone before you even order that u don't have this item available. Common courtesy especially to someone in a rush. Never going here again. I am extremely disappointed in the service here and please if ur the management reading this! The food was good, but the employees treated us like crap. They werent using proper sanitary procedures. More than half didnt wear masks, I saw them touch the food and their face, and they didnt sound like they knew what they were doing at all. It is also a good thing I checked the food because they forgot to add one of my sides. When going back through they requested to see the bag and had 3 people look through to make sure we didnt have the rice. They also did not have gloves on while going through everything. This whole last process took about 10 minutes. Ive worked in multiple fast food restaurants myself, I know this is not acceptable. I'm giving five not because they are stupendous and out of this world, but for fast food they offer good selections. Steamed rice not fried. Too sweet at times, but a lot of good flavors. So it's the kids favorite and I don't mind the food for essentially pre-made Chinese food. But what gets us every time is the poor service and extremely unkept dining area. I used to love Panda Express. If I could give this zero stars I would. I recently went there and I didn't notice a piece of chicken was undercooked and I ended up with food poisoning and e-coli!! I had to go to the ER for fluids and meds. I will NEVER EVER go to panda express ever again. Watch out people. They told me the wait time was 5 minutes for it to cook and I got all my food within 2.5 minutes. Yes I should of asked about it but I trusted that it would be ok. I'm very saddened that this happened to me cuz I really loved the Beijing beef. But I will not RECCOMEND this place to anyone unless you are willing to risk getting sick like I did.
