It used to be the very best Chinese food around and they always won numerous awards each year having been voted #1 Chinese Restaurant in Macomb County repeatedly, Well, not anymore. Ever since COVID LeOngs has gone downhill. The eat-in restaurant isn't open and is filled with storage boxes and staff just sitting around, the food is really hit & miss with some main entrees barely having any beef or chicken, just an abundance of veggies. My wife and l thought the chicken was very dry, even with the gravy. The egg roll was also not moist. We will not return anytime soon. Average Chinese food worth very large portions. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken as a combo. It came with soup and an egg roll. Beware the egg roll has shrimp in it, which I did not appreciate and couldn't eat it. The soup was very good. The chicken was good, but I wish they didn't put the pineapple on top since it made the pets it was touching soggy. The fried rice was good. If I could give less than one star I would. This place has gone so far downhill it isn't even on the map anymore. My family and I went and asked if they were open for dine in, we were told yes and to order at the counter and grab a seat. Our food came out in take-out containers with plastic silverware. The containers had loads of staples to hold them shut. Total choking hazard not to mention God forbid someone ingests one. The flatware was also plastic and the cheapest you can find. Got carry out from this restaurant during the pandemic. I ordered the sesame chicken and Almond Boneless chicken combinations. Both were suppose to get the soup of the day with the combos but one came chicken noodle and the other wonton. I've never heard of an Asian restaurant serving chicken noodle soup. The wonton was really good and the chicken noodle was so so. The Sesame chicken breading was really soft and not crispy but had a bbq taste. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't get it again. The Almond Boneless chicken had a really good flavor. I would definitely get it again. This Chinese restaurant has some really good meals (Almond Boneless Chicken) and some others (Sesame Chicken) that are so so. Since moving to Chesterfield area last March 21' my GF and were having issues trying to find good Chinese food... We went around the full area and then started to adventure out to different cities... Then we heard about Leong's 21 This has been our stop whenever we want Chinese Food and will always be going forward Their Almond Boneless Chicken Meal is very good and on the right day you will get a good amount, the Eggroll is large and very good and the WanTon Soup is good As of this review they are still now open for dine, when I asked when and they said they had no idea because no on wants to work. The only thing I'd like to see is they start to offering delivery through apps (GrubHub, UberEats..etc...) I see why they won soo many rewards and if they keep up the work they will def win more, this is a def a little gem out in Chesterfield for a good place to eat/carry out! read more

This was one of our favorite stops. I doubt it will be again. The dining room is "open" but without servers. Order and pay at the desk and food comes in a takeout container. We sat at a table. Pop came in a cold 12 oz. can. Soups were egg drop or chicken noodle. The egg.drop soup was fine. The chicken noodle was a little tough, as the noodles were undercooked. But,where is the exceptional won ton soup? The almond chicken I ordered was a little overcooked. At home, later, it was tough and inchewable in spots. The gravy was good, eggroos were a bit sparsely filled. We were offered NO very tasty dinner rolls. I really missed them. There was plenty to take home. Decor is a little dated with pink tables and flowers on the wall. I was really digging the classic rock radio station. Not what I was expecting at a Chinese restaurant but it made me wanna dance! Service was a bit slow. Only one waitress for the restaurant. Cheryl, one of the carryout gals, helped get everyones soups, egg rolls and drinks. My boyfriend and I split the double combination plate for $16 that comes with an egg roll, choice of soup, bread, two entrees and rice. We chose sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken. He ate the lukewarm Wonton Soup while I tried enjoyed the overcooked egg roll. Lots of bean sprouts in the egg roll. For whatever reason we were full after a few bites of our entrees. They were much better than the starters though and were scorching hot and full of sauce and flavor. Not overcooked at all. Double combination plate can easily feed a family of four. Lots of leftovers. Perhaps they could hire more wait staff, update the decor, make food consistantly and make the menu smaller, after all theres ONLY six pages to it. I do not know how they have all these awards hanging in their business. I ordered carryout for myself, my husband, and my daughter last night. We always get the same basic order from any Chinese place we order from: sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, and vegetable lo mien. AWFUL! The soup that came with the meal has what looks like Kraft macaroni and cheese noodles in it and their lo mien is made from angel hair pasta. The brown rice tastes like it is made weeks in advance and just microwaved and thrown in a box. I will not be ordering from here ever again. After 2 attempts at carry out and horrible experiences both times, I am done trying to find an item on their menu worth spending my money on. My first time here, I tried a Chinese chicken dish (forgot the name exactly), which was horribly salty and I barley ate a quarter of it before I threw it away and made myself a grilled cheese for dinner instead. I decided to give them another try another a few weeks later and I ordered the chicken pad Thai. No flavor, no spice, and noodles were as dry as the freaking Sahara. Another waste of $13.
