The stand is made of wood, laser-cut, and then carefully hand-sanded by volunteers--each one finished with such care. The calendar itself changes monthly, with sturdy cards featuring beautiful photographs from parks all across Summit County. It's a simple piece, but beautiful in its craftsmanship and the story behind it. The young Lady at the front desk of the main office gave us all the details and a lot of information on the summit metro parks. #SummitMetroParks #SummitCounty #SupportLocal #CommunityStrong #VolunteerMade #LocalLove #OhioNature #ExploreLocal #ParkLife #NatureAppreciation

Restrooms thankfully were not closed for the holiday either but those restrooms were clean and well taken care of. The trail despite it being a bit of a mushy day, it' fairly maintained though it could be right going past people on the little boardwalk on half of the trail. There's plenty of wildlife you'll encounter as well. Easy access to the streets as well upon leaving. Cute overlook of the pond too before and after you start the trail.

We took our dog on a walk here and found numerous ticks on him and ourselves by the end of the trail. Unfortunately, despite him being on flea/tick meds and having been given the Lyme vaccine for multiple years, we found out this week that he tested positive for Lyme disease and have a strong suspicion that he was exposed from the ticks at this park. Obviously ticks are very frequent at a lot of parks, but I've never seen so many in one place as we did here. They were literally leaping all over us and our dog from the tall grass, so consider avoiding the grassy area altogether and stick to the woods. If you choose to walk here, I definitely recommend checking yourself and your pets for ticks before heading home.

We usually take the path through the seven ponds that's across the street from the parking lot. You start on a path through the woods and then it meanders through the ponds to loop back. We usually take the short trail from the parking lot to the eagle's nest lookout. We saw the eagle's nest on our most recent trip but no eagles. It's a short and flat walk that would be good for all ages. It was a little muddy last time but not too bad. Check it out if you're in the area and looking to get outside!

Designed similarly to any other, there are two separate sections based on the size of your canine. Each with an enclosed fence, obstacles to help with agility & confidence and a large field surrounding the area. Dedicated to the local K9 police dog force, it offers paths (although I didn't have a chance to explore these) that weave through tall grasses. The only complaint I have is with the typical irresponsible pet owners failing to obey the local defecation law(s) . Yes, the trash was over flowing but is it really that hard to place your dogs poop bag next to the trash can; apparently. Anyways, check this place out; you or your pet wont regret it!

Like me, Timmy is weary of strangers & since it was July 4th you couldn't possibly avoid them. So since it was so crowded I couldn't really explore this trail & ended up only walking a small 1 & 3/4 mile trail, dogging oncoming bikers the entire time. At the beginning of the trail, there are a few spots to have a picnic & a neat (what appeared to be) train station that I have yet to explore. However, I failed to see a trashcan anywhere in site, not even near the picnic areas so if you bring your dog(s), be prepared to carry their waste the entire route or leave your smelly trash in your hot car :/ Currently you may also enjoy the overwhelming smell of new asphalt & near by car fumes as you are extremely close to the road. I found this disappointing because parks are generally meant to be peaceful, quiet, soothing....I much rather hear natural sounds than noisy vehicles & headache inducing fumes from hot tar trails. But on a brighter note, if you enjoy biking, hiking or are in a motorized wheelchair all can enjoy this path as it is smooth and clean. There's cute little historical tidbits along the way for all you history buffs that reveal the once bustling town of Botzum, Ohio. And, to my surprise, considering how many ignorant dog owners that seem to suffocate my environment- everyone enjoying the park that day all had their pets on a leash & there was no tip towing around piles of dog poop :) There's much left to explore though so hopefully I can provide a better review of this trail in the future ;)

We immediately went to the park, and my kids had an absolute blast. They're 3 and 1, but I saw plenty of older kids having fun as well. We checked out the lake, which was super pretty (watch out for goose poop!). I noticed some people fishing, and it looked like there were canoes around too! We then decided to have some lunch. There are plenty of picnic tables, so finding a spot to sit is not a problem. We ended the visit with one more trip to the park and then left. My kids were EXHAUSTED afterward, and I always appreciate a place that can tire them out. I'd like to visit again on a solo trip and walk a few miles around the lake next time!
