We had a devastating car accident tonight on I5 southbound going down to Bakersfield direction. There was a big piece of metal came our way that our car that was on the left lane quickly turned toward the divider. My husband cried out help then both of us pulled the wheel against the wall direction. Thankfully there was no cars paralleled to us on other lanes. We eventually stopped the car on the shoulder of the highway with lots of crunchy sounds coming out from the bottom of the car. We were in the middle of nowhere. Internet was not even able to send our location verification. Highway Patrol connected us with LEO towing company. The tow truck arrived in 45mins. The driver Eddie was such a God sent- He saw that we were in the middle of no where at midnight on the highway and we obviously not knowing what to do next. He kindly offered us a ride to go back with him to Bakersfield where the tow company is. He said there are a lot of rental companies close by and lots of hotels as well so we could get better care than looking for a random motel at the nearby gas station. We ended up in a nice comfortable hotel in downtown Bakersfield with the rental car company being 1.3 miles away! Eddie was with us the whole process- he said the time that we got spend in this experience made us family and he was glad he could help us out We appreciate you going above and beyond to show us the care in a dark night like this Eddie. They want to sell your car and they add as many fees as possible. When I stated it was only 31 days not 32 the guy said "computer generated". Excuse after excuse and must be since it's a small town they need to charge you every nickel and dime. Places like this don't deserve a business license and Shaffer PD you guys are terrible for contracting them. Pathetic. This place tries to fuck ppl Over. Unethical towing company to swindle money . Rude customer service . I got into a car accident in early October 2022 and LEO towing towed my car. They didn't inform me that I would have to sign it over to my insurance in person. The accident occurred over 4 hours from my home and after a week of not hearing anything about the status of my car I had to call my insurance to get a hold of them and then call them directly because they were giving my insurance the run around . Once I got ahold of them they said I could not sign it over verbally. I found out They had told my insurance they couldn't find my car in the system and so my insurance had to call them again . They tried to sell my car without notifying me of this only a few days after my accident and told me they expected me to pay for towing and storage out of pocket. (The accident was not my fault) I thought it was odd that they said that the reason I couldn't verbally release the car to my insurance was because of identity theft concerns... why would someone steal someone's identity to release the car to someone else's insurance?? This place is a scam. Anyways, they didn't expect for me to make the 4+ hour drive up there the same day I called which was a Friday (I didn't want to give them any more time to keep my car and I needed to know the status of it so I could begin looking for a new car ), they wanted to keep my car as long as possible to sell it and to get money from me for storing it there. The lady rudely said my other option for releasing the car was to sign a notarized letter that would have taken 2 weeks to get my car released. Imagine my surprise when I get a letter in the mail saying they were about to sell it off for profit because I didn't claim it even tho my insurance had been trying to contact them. I think since this towing company is in a small town they don't get much action out there and need to squeeze as much money as they can out of the few cars that do need to get towed. My car broke down at a small gas station at like 2AM. I couldn't help myself and any other Towing company in the area didn't pick up my call. Luckily I met Simon and his friend. They were super helpful and figured out what's the problem within minutes. Simon even took out his cars battery to get my car jumpstarted. Since we were still 4 hours away from our home, we decided to sleep in the car. Simon even gave us his personal frontwindow-sunblock, so no one would bother us while we were sleeping. They really took care of us and were fair and open about their pricing (which is cheap anyways). Highly recommend this company and especially Simon. read more

The ethics at this tow company is disgusting. Josh stated the tow company auctioned off vehicle without sending any notification within 15 days per California law. Shafter PD contracts with this unethical tow business. When I called Shafter PD within week of tow to find out where vehicle was, they said they could not find vehicle in their system. Even though VIN was given properly. So no letter as to where vehicle was and no info from police dept. that requested tow. I called Josh several times and was hung up on. He sarcastically stated that have an attorney call them for info. First of all Josh, your illegal and unethical practices there have been reported to consumer affairs, as well as BBB. I will also be reaching out to Shafter PD to try to understand how they work with a tow company that doesn't follow California law and commits illegal vehicle sales . A scam. Been trying to get my car out and they are lying to my insurance that I haven't signed a release form when I had to drive 4 hours back and forth (they require you to show physically or have a notarized letter). I called them on the phone and they pretended they didn't remember me when I showed up the day before - I even called the red hair out with a physical description of what she looked like and afterwards she finally complied. NOW they're claiming their system is down to keep the car an extra day. They keep lying, making excuses and prolong the process to keep your car longer. This tow company should be out of business. Granted, some tow companies can really be like this but this was inhumane and cruel - not all people can sit around and wait 24/7 like you lazies fucking do. Read the bad reviews cause they're true - get your car out of there ASAP and take a picture of all the evidence you can cause it's their word against yours. read more
