Payless towing is a rip off! They charged me $400 for 2 miles. They are rude . Basically stole my car! Every time I went in to get my car there was ALWAYS some reason "their policy" why I couldn't get it! Then, because it was SO MUCH MONEY, I was getting help from my mother and " their policy" since HER name WAS NOT on my car she couldn't use her card for payment! AND it wasn't a card she could get cash off of.. THEY ARE THIEVES! They went through my var dumped my belongings all over my backseat left my windows down and making it difficult for me to get my car so they can keep it! First of all they overcharged big time I was charged $453 for a tow but that's less than 1 mile and it took supposedly two and a half hours to do if it took that long to do this kind of toad they would never make any money it didn't have a 30-day impound so their way of trying to steal my car is to overcharge me beware read more

Payless Towing illegally towed my car from an apt. complex & then sold it. I was never informed of the towing so I called the police dept. to report it stolen & they are the ones who told me that it was towed. I finally got a notice from the DMV 2 weeks after it was towed & when I asked Payless why they didn't inform me they said that they didn't know my address even though the registration papers were in the car. They also overcharged me. They aren't supposed to charge any more than law enforcement would for the same tow which would have been $225.00 to $250.00 & they charged me $330.00 for a simple 4 mile tow. Not to mention they were very rude & when I went to the shop to speak with the owner he was the only one there & said he wasn't the owner he was only working the desk. I asked him a few questions that I guess he didn't like so he started yelling at me & told me to get out of "his" shop. I said, "your shop? You just told me that you weren't the owner." He didn't like that either & started yelling again for me to leave. I also found it a bit strange that they have signs all over the shop forbidding the use of any audio or video recording devices yet there were cameras throughout their office. Five stars are not enough for the service I received from this towing company. Prior to calling them I had hired 3 different local companies to tow my 40 ft RV off of the freeway, to the mechanic and then to home. The drivers they sent were inexperienced and unprepared for the job and they merely had to drive it in a straight line, which even I can do as a woman. I then needed to move it into an area that was very tight with limited room and would require a lot of wrangling to get it there. I called Payless Towing. They sent J.R. and I am grateful as it was obvious he was a seasoned employee and it was imperative that he knew his stuff. He needed to disconnect the driveline in order to make it happen as the engine was blown. He had to have the knowledge of the brake system as the emergency brake was located outside the vehicle on the driveline rather then inside the vehicle. He had to figure in the length of his truck and the RV to make sure he could navigate them correctly and he had to be able to concentrate and tune out the neighbors that felt the need to come over and yell out commands and get in the way. He did all of this very quickly with no wasted time or words. Amazing! I would use them again. read more

Starting from the person who answered the phone to the driver that was sent out I am very impressed. My motorhome was in a RV park in Bakersfield while we were not there it was broken into. I decided to move it out of the park so I called Payless Towing to come move it out I was quoted 200.00 dollars to tow it 3 miles. The tow driver hit the front bumper and damaged it pulling out the trailer park, and assured me he would take care of it he said he had a son who does excellent body work, I was fine with that but on the way to the residence that I was having it towed to, I noticed sparks coming from underneath motorhome so I tried honking at the driver but driver didn't hear me and I couldn't tell him so first chance I got to get alongside him I told him he was dragging something he stopped and pulled over and said it was my driveline he had drug almost the entire 3 miles because he had to disconnect it and he didn't secure it properly. I called the next day and spoke with another person about the situation because he didn't reconnect the drive line and severely damaged it he said he would have the driver call me because he would be in trouble with the owner. The driver showed up at the residence I had the motorhome towed to, within 15 minutes of my call. My boyfriend went over to the driver and showed him the damage he had done to the driveline and the front bumper which now had a good size hole in it. The driver proceeded to reconnect the driveline and said he would return within 2 hours he was going to look for a used drive line at the shop and he would talk to his son about fixing the bumper over the up coming weekend. We waited for about 3 hours for him and he never showed up and it was late by this time, so the next day called the office and asked to talk to the owner, the guy I was given to said his name was Josh, told him everything that happened and he said he would talk to the driver and call me back, and like the driver heard nothing from him since. This is not good business and will never use their services again. So if anyone is thinking of using their services, they should think twice. I wish I could also post pictures of the damages. Telling you about it does not do the damage justice. I rated this company one star because there wasn't the rating I was thinking of for this kind of service on this page. I so wish I checked out this page before I called. I bet they think they got away with this but will soon realize the social media reaches a lot of people. This company charged me 200.00 to tow and now will cost me way more than that to fix all the damage they did. Something good did come from this is experience I can help other people not experience the same fate. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!! read more
