Working with Jose, you'll very quickly realize how honest he is. My home was built in 1902, so there were obviously some challenges. Jose would contact me, discuss the issue, and offer several IN CODE options. He impressed me with his knowledge of county and state codes. Again, HONESTY!! His quote was one of best I received, but I still would have chosen his company, due to the way he presents himself. I found myself at home with some health issues on some days while they worked, and to be honest, it was very amusing, and relaxing for me. I would hear the music playing, and one of his crew members would suddenly break out singing to the song that was playing. Things like that showed that they were enjoying life, just working away, and happy. I also asked Jose to quote a roof for my house. Again, he was THE ONLY guy to actually get on my roof and measure things. I could hear him stomping around, checking the integrity of the plywood. No one else even got up there. So, if you want an honest, hard working construction team, these are the guys to contact!! Jose also has some fantastic referrals for the work he doesn't do. Lucas never showed up, never called, and now I've called and text him 8+ times without a call back. That alone ate up eighteen hours of my life - not to mention the contacts from thirty eight companies triggered by an invisible internet narc that must sell leads to anyone searching online. Not fun, anxiety and stress kicked in hard. I wanted to hide and just forget it all. But my roof was leaking. The big brown tarp was a dead giveaway. I'd given up in total confusion with bids from $18k to $57k, a lot of promises and more than a few insults. And then I met Chris, the owner of Five Star. He listened to me and my story. He could tell I'd already heard all the information- I just needed a business with expertise, an owner with integrity and an honest approach to do the job for a fair price. Not only did Chris provide all of that but he brought in a hardworking crew one that worked together like a well oiled machine. Javier not only had the best price, but he was a delight to work with. He's meticulous, and his attention to detail is extraordinary. Javier is also a great communicator who's humble. We had a challenging section in the front of our house that involved a large tree overhanging the garage. They built a ramp to the dumpster which caught all the debris, and they didn't break a single branch. His crew did a terrific job tearing out the old roof, replacing some rotted boards, and installing new Certainteed Landmark shingles. They added roof vents where we needed them, re-directed several attic vents, and even replaced our old skylight with a new one. They did a fantastic job cleaning up and we've gotten many compliments on the new roof. If you're bidding a new roof, make sure you include J. Roofing in the mix. You will love the results!
