I showed up for an appointment on January 7th with my usual smile and upbeat personality. The girl at the front desk had an immediate attitude and did not even great me or say hello. All she said was "we tried to call you, the doctor is not in today". I explained VERY NICELY that I did not get a call from them to cancel my appointment. She never once said "I'm sorry", and instead had another girl look up my account and told me my appointment was for the 17th, and not the 7th (I have the card at home to prove they wrote thr 7th). I was still VERY PLEASANT even though I had just driven an hour to get to this appointment. The rude front desk girl said "you should have known your appointment wasn't today since you didn't get a reminder call from us two days ago". I explained that I was a new patient and didn't know their process of calling 2 days prior to an appointment. She ROLLED HER EYES at me and continued to say I should have known I didn't have an appointment because I didn't get a reminder call. Once she rolled her eyes at me, my nice demeanor was gone and I asked her "did you just roll your eyes at me" and she did it again!!!! I told her how very rude she was and she should never treat a patient like this - EVER ! She kept repeating that I should have known they call 2 days prior to remind you about an appointment, and wouldn't listen to me that I was a new patient and didn't know this process. At this point, another girl chimes in and says "your appointment is on the 17th and you can go now !" I told both of them how rude they were and they should be ashamed of themselves for speaking to a patient like this. I work at a hospital and have never seen this behavior from any of our staff. She meant well I am sure, however, I will not be going back to her or that practice. She initially talked about my visit as a "freebie" but once I told her I had paid my copay they couldn't refund it. However, since he retired I have been transferred to at least 4 different medical providers. I've had no complaints until recently because I usually only visit this office once a year. The current front desk staff(Marisol and the new heavy set one with a terrible attitude) always seem to be miserable. I dread calling the office because I know I will most likely be greeted rudely and made to feel as though I am a burden. Questions are not encouraged and when I've sought out further clarification the response I've received was one of annoyance. Any requests for a phone call with my provider have always been declined and my only option has been to schedule an appointment even if an appointment was not necessary. It seems that this practice is money driven and if they do not feel your medical concern is a priority, they make it very clear by their lack of patience with you. It's too bad that the lack of customer service and rude front desk staff who represent this practice have such a negative impact that one would walk away from 25 years of care for a new provider who is welcoming and attentive. Big difference! I hate to say it but I think the fact that this practice primarily serves patients from lower socio-economic backgrounds impacts the quality of care provided and the general attitude of superiority and disregard for patient care, which can be seen in their lack of respect for even basic human interaction. I also think that they are so used to treating patients with Husky insurance, that they are not sensitive to the financial needs of patients with co-payments and/or deductibles who might not be so eager to be seen when a solution may not require an office visit. Mona Chiurillo, APRN has been pleasant and helpful. She's definitely an asset. Also, her MA is always very kind, friendly and helpful. Unless you have no other choice, I wouldn't recommend this practice!

There was a young lady/assistant in the room too! I was speechless and never went back. I did a search on the state licensing website after that and he got disciplined in 1993 for another similar issue and it said that he was no longer to see patients alone. I must have seen him in 2015 or there about. It's obvious he did not learn anything from the disciplinary action of his 1993 case. I'm sure other women had this happen to them.  I wish I had reported him when it happened, but I hope bringing it to light now will prevent someone else from experiencing the same thing. Here's documentation of his wrong doing that was reported to the state and is on the licensing site on the CT gov website.

He is thoughtful and thorough and courteous . Unfortunately I cannot say that about his office and I hope that he hears this so that he can make some changes . The only reason why I didn't change providers is because of Steven sales himself but I was ready to . I understand that I was the one who was late but considering the fact that I did have injuries and I was only 5 to 7 minutes late and I typically sent in the waiting room for 10 or 15 minutes I feel there should have been something that she could have done to help me .

I have a night guard, but never use it because it makes me clench more and I wake up with an aching jaw muscle. I have had broken teeth and broken crowns because I clench and grind while I'm sleeping. I was waking up with a headache almost every morning. Within a week of having Botox in my jaw muscles, my morning headaches were gone. I wish I had learned about this years ago because it would have saved me a bundle on dental work.
