Went here to have replacement lenses in my Ray-Ban sunglasses exchanged out. Only went to LensCrafters since when ordering replacement lenses through Ray-Ban, they advised me to do so. Had to wait a long time until sunglasses were finished. I inspected them finding the inside edge frame bent and scratched. I pointed this out to the employee, so he went in the back to have it fixed. I waited for quite some time again. The employee came back out to tell and show me that they had broken the frames of my sunglasses!!! Knowing there was nothing he could do about it, I kindly shrugged it off as no big deal. Since they were at fault, he told me I could have my pick of any sunglasses in the store. Of course they did not have the exact same pair or anything close to it. A different employee checked Sunglass Hut. Sunglass Hut had the same pair as mine, but had to check with regional manager to see if sunglasses could be transferred to LensCrafters. While waiting to hear results, the female employee at LensCrafters told me "I highly doubt the regional manager will do the transfer." Um ok... that's really what I want to hear after the store you work for broke my sunglasses! After hearing this, and not wanting to go home empty handed, I picked out a pair at LensCrafters that I was content with. Once again, I waited a very long time for the female employee to be available so I could inform her. She however could not process the transaction since, as she stated, "it was time for her to clock out." I WAITED ANOTHER VERY LONG TIME for a different female employee to help me. This employee informed me that Sunglass Hut WILL do the transfer. I walked over to Sunglass Hut. There was only one employee working and she was unaware of the situation. She was helping someone else at the time as well. At this point I was fed up and just wanting to be done. I walked back over to LensCrafters to let the employee there know I will just take the pair from LensCrafters I picked out. The employee then went on to give me a hard time about not getting the ones from Sunglass Hut! I explained to her that I'm not going back and forth with this situation any longer, I wasted enough of my time and just want to get the pair at LensCrafters and be done! Overall, I have been to LensCrafters many times before at a different location and never had issues. Went to this location at Potomac Mills Mall since I recently moved to Woodbridge, VA. If you are planning on giving your business to LensCrafters, I advise you NOT to go to this location!

See the left side is about straight and the right side is curved, and the lens on the right is so out of shape.

Typically when I go for my visit I get checked in and end up waiting for 15-20 min, then after they take me back to the first room and machine where they look at your eyes before putting you in the room to wait for the doctor another 20 min which is a bit annoying. When I visited 10/31 for my exam this year, I was on time and told the doctor was running 45 minutes behind so I just waited in my car (although there are places to grab a quick bite nearby) and when I got in I still had to wait another 10-15 min as she was going back and forth between patients. The staff is really nice, and the exam itself is comfortable so the time is really the only reason I took a star off. She's also very patient bc I am a bit sensitive with the bright light at the part of the exam when trying to look into my retina. I don't have glaucoma in my family and she asked me to return for an assessment, but I haven't gone - it just feels a bit odd but I appreciate her being cautious and proactive. I don't purchase my glasses or frames so I can't speak on that part. There is plenty of parking in the lot behind, or a few spots right in front. She has a clean restroom as well.

New Doctor here this time uses my old prescription as a baseline and states "okay 20/20 so we will keep it the same" then changes my contacts vendor/type without asking me. When I explicitly stated I have used these for over a decade and they are what I want to use. Then the Doctor changes my eye glasses prescription a little when she stated it was already 20/20 with the current prescription. What the F! Is she getting kick backs???!!! Never going here again! Trash!

From the moment we arrived, we were treated with hostility. The first thing I was told was that my appointment had been canceled because I supposedly failed to confirm it. However, I never received a phone call, email, or text message asking me to confirm my appointment. Ironically, they did send a confirmation for my son's appointment. Despite that, I was blamed and my appointment was canceled. After that, we were left waiting much longer than expected for my son's appointment. I explained several times that my son has autism and that long waits are very difficult for him. No one seemed to care. When they finally called him in for his eye imaging, I explained to the technician that my son has autism and kindly asked her to be patient with him. She didn't even acknowledge what I said. She immediately started giving him abrupt commands: "Sit down," "Open your eyes," "Put your chin here." My son was already visibly anxious, and I was doing everything I could to help him stay calm and cooperate. At the next machine, the technician suddenly pushed the equipment toward him. He became frightened and started crying. Once again, I explained that he has autism and asked her to please be patient and gentle. Instead of showing any understanding, she abruptly got up, walked out of the room, and returned a few minutes later only to say, "Go out and wait in the lobby." I asked why, how long we would have to wait, and what was happening. Her response was simply, "I don't know... maybe 20 or 30 minutes." There was no explanation, no communication, and no attempt to continue the exam. We were simply told to leave the room. While my son sat there crying, scared and confused, no one came to explain anything or check on us. I decided to speak with the office manager. Before she even allowed me to explain what had happened, she angrily told me that I had arrived ten minutes late and had failed to confirm my appointment, as if that somehow justified the way my son was being treated. I explained that this had nothing to do with my appointment. My concern was the way my son was being treated. I told her I felt we were being discriminated against because of his disability and that they seemed unwilling to continue his examination after learning he has autism. She showed no interest in listening or helping. The most heartbreaking part of this experience was hearing my son apologize for being scared and crying during the exam. No child with autism should ever feel the need to apologize for being afraid. Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder deserve patience, understanding, respectful communication, and reasonable accommodations--not indifference, impatience, or dismissive treatment. We received no empathy, no compassion, no professionalism, and no respect. I sincerely hope this office provides proper training to its staff on how to care for patients with disabilities and neurodivergent individuals. No family should ever have to go through such a humiliating experience. Zero empathy. Zero compassion. Zero professionalism. Completely unacceptable.

No problem, things usually cost more when you have extra problems. They told me my preferred Lens was going to be discontinued after end of 2022, so my order would be the last and then I would need to switch to another brand. I ended up also getting some samples of a different brand to try. I was promised 2 weeks for my contacts to arrive. 2 weeks passed, no contacts, i call and explain what's going on, they call the supplier, call me back, say another two weeks but they're working on it. Repeat this for another three months or so. I understand delays but the fact that I have to 1) call them EVERY single time to ask where they are rather than be informed proactively that they are delayed again and 2) explain my story every single time I call, I assumed eye doctors would also use patient notes, is ridiculous. Then, I tried the samples, unfortunately, they didn't work for me and never settled on my eye or were sized incorrectly (blurry no matter how much eye drops). I called about 6 months after my eye exam to see if I could try another brand. They told me I would have to come back in and get resized and pay another $100+. I ended up going to another provider where I walked out the door only payed $20 for a new exam, under $50 for the lens fitting, and no extra charge for astigmatism. AND they gave me two different samples to try from the beginning, followed up how they were feeling etc. Th difference in level of care at Steer Optical and my new vision center is night and day. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
