I want to preface this by saying I had written a review on google about this location when I had…read morefirst visited, and that was because the staff that were helping me were genuinely really nice, courteous, respectful, and understanding of my situation. I spent about 30 to 45 minutes in the store and most of that time was just standing by and waiting to speak to someone while I picked out glasses, and more waiting while they looked at my insurance. I did not see an optometrist at this location, and that was mostly due to the reviews I've seen here and on google, and I take my eye care very seriously. I came in already having my prescription from another optometrist at vision works, and then I came here to select frames. TO BE CLEAR, this review does not factor in the optometrist at this location, only the customer service I changed my glasses once every year or every year and a half, and I've all the places I've been to, the staff here have give me the most pleasant and honest experience I've ever had when selecting my frames, going over my options, and providing an unbiased review. LensCrafters and vision Works have constantly tried to upsell me on designer lenses and frames, memberships, different payment, plans, and gift cards, and all manner of needless crap. Here: I was given a tray, told to browse their selection (which granted is a little limited considering the space) while they assisted other customers, I picked out four pairs, tell them exactly what it is. I do for a living and what it is I needed (2 pairs, one for indoor use with a blue light filter, one for outdoor use with transitions for driving), I gave them my prescription insurance, they scan with them look at the frame that I had selected commented on the fashion and style, I made a decision, look in a payment plan and I left. Was told I would receive a text when my new frames are ready within a week. I went on Saturday and it's now Thursday as I write this No upselling, No crazy recommendations for any of the premium Ray Bans or weird sports gear, I got what I needed in a very friendly and costumer first manner. -the selection they have is limited -waiting was a little , but not a bother you can run errands while you wait or consider more options. -very friendly customer service -Very quick delivery If you're on a budget and need a new pair of flames in a timely respectful manner, go here. I only gave a four star because I cannot comment on the doctor(s) appointed here. The reviews mentioned such are a little old and I recommend you do your own research and only go to who you trust for your prescription and lens recommendations

(My child was being very polite, just a little nervous which annoyed her) She seems like a very unhappy person and I'm not sure why she works there. I tried easing the tension and speaking nicely with her but she completely ignored me which was very awkward for me and my family. Also, I found out after receiving paperwork from my insurance that they assumed we wanted "premium lenses,"and all kinds of other extra things for my child's lenses that are completely unnecessary which ended up costing me out of pocket an insane amount. I should've questioned it, and have learned from this experience. Do not recommend this place at all.

Review of my insurance coverage actually revealed Barrios Vision lied to me about my insurance…read morerequiring a retinal scan when that is not true. A retinal scan is not required by my insurance coverage and is not required in annual exams. Hmm..

I've waited to leave a review because it took me a while to collect my thoughts on my experience…read more The staff was warm and friendly just as they'd always been in past experiences. My exam went great and I felt comfortable. When the exam was over I told them I wanted to order contacts as well as have updated prescription lenses replaced in my current glasses. They said it would be no problem and it could be done right then and there if I had the time to wait. Unfortunately, when I did receive my glasses there was some odd smudge on the lens itself. It was practically right in the middle of the right lens so I couldn't avoid it. It wasn't a stubborn fingerprint, it wasn't a water stain, it was smooth seemed like it was just the lens. I raised my issue with the man who made the lenses(not the same person who preformed my eye exam) and he completely dismissed my concerns and tried to convince me that my eyes were just getting used to new lenses, that I might feel a little off or dizzy the first couple tries. Every time he tried to convince me it was just my eyes getting used to new lenses he also was progressively getting shorter and more stern in his responses to me. I reassured him that that was not the case because I could actually see a smudge mark on the lens. I could see him becoming more irritated and confrontation makes me very uncomfortable so I just gave up, left with a product I wasn't happy with, and felt completely defeated and embarrassed for even trying to advocate for myself. I ended up never using those glasses. Instead they sit in my medicine cabinet so when I open it up every morning to get ready for the day it acts as a reminder for me to speak up for myself. The experience turned me off so much I never went back and what's really disheartening about the whole thing was I had a really good experience up until that point. If he had at least looked at my lenses to see what I was talking about maybe I would've felt like he actually cared about me as a customer. And now reading some of these reviews I am feeling like maybe the attitude towards unhappy customers could be better handled. Conflict resolution is so important. I would suggest they just genuinely listen to their customer's concerns without immediately dismissing them. Once someone feels dismissed that's the beginning of the end with that customer.

My eye exam experience at Eye Care & Surgery Center of Warren:…read more 1. The actual eye exam was NOT performed by an optometrist, but by an ASSISTANT. Is this even legal? And if it is, I consider it UNETHICAL. 2. DOCTOR only performs the PORTION of the exam where your eyes are dilated (considering the other cost-cutting measures, I wouldn't be surprised if EC&SC uses off-brand drops too, my eyes were uncomfortably blurry, not just dilated, for hours afterward). 3. DOCTOR dismissed my question about a part of the exam I felt was missing. My former eye doctor gives a thorough test in that area and tells you exactly what your options are. 4. They make you fill out a ridiculously long online form. 5. The staff I dealt with were indifferent. 6. The in-house optician (or maybe another assistant?) gave me a dirty look when I asked for my Rx and has a laughingly small selection of frames anyway. I am going back to my original optometrist/optician, who, despite now being 45 minutes away (I moved a year ago) and a bit quirky, at least cares about his clientele.
