I am in such shock with what my wife and I just experienced in that store that I barely have the words. We went in to browse at lenses. A very nice communicative employee (I wish I knew the name) greeted us. There was an older gentleman also in the store and this employee was helping him. All of the sudden one of the optometrists jumps out from her exam room and yells, degrades, and humiliates the employee who greeted us . She said that the employee was rude to the older gentleman that was there. Her voice was loud and so demeaning. No way to treat any human. After the whole scene settled, the employee apologized to us for mean girl's behavior. We told the employee that we were sorry that she was treated like that and it was unacceptable etc. As we were telling the employee how awful it was that she was treated so poorly (and the employee kept defending the mean girl), mean girl busts into the showroom again and yells at us for defending the employee. My wife said to her that she could have taken her aside and quietly discussed any concerns. To that, mean girl said to my wife, "I don't give a f*ck what you think." I am so in shock that we were verbally attacked by an optometrist! The nice employee again defends her. She also said that the doctors don't work for Lens Crafters so it shouldn't be a reflection. Well it is. Anyway, we again told the employee we are so sorry that she has to endure this abuse on the regular and we left. We will never buy anything from Lens Crafters again. I have visited twice, and both times I had unprofessional and rude employees not assist me. On todays visit, my glasses have a broken nose piece that needed to be sautered. The employee told me that they are the only one staffed today, so they would not be able to do that. I asked if I could browse around for a new pair of frames since I have had these a few years. She declined, since she is only allowing one person into the store at a time and you will need your prescription ready. The next time you have staffing issues to this extent, then just close the store and put out a hiring sign. Or hire someone competent enough to handle more than a single customer at a time, especially when they just wish to browse frames. This will only hurt your business's image in the community. read more

I took one of my favorite pairs of (old) sunglasses in to have a nosepad replaced and walked out with practically a new set of cool shades?!? Eric (sp?) not only replaced the broken pad, he installed a new one to match, then went on to tighten and adjust the frames...ALL AT NO CHARGE?!?!?...If this is the ultra-competent attention to detail he (and this shop) always tender so graciously, then this is THE place to go for glasses!!! read more

Understanding that the eye doctor is a separate company, they are still partnered with this Lense Crafters who I rely on for consistency in service and product availability. I requested an eye exam to renew my contact Rx, I was told I couldn't get just an exam for my Rx. I was told by the Doctors assistant that the doctor requires a "full exam" (what ever that means) and requires pre-authorization to Bill my primary medical health insurance for any services provided that my eye insurance won't cover, and if I refuse to provide them with my primary insurance and the authorization to bill my primary insurance that they wouldn't see me. I've never had this experience in the 30+ years I've been wearing glasses and contacts. Well, long story short, I didn't get the exam and this Lense Crafters lost a customer! read more

Avoid this place at all costs! Very unfriendly! Very rude! Not willing to help! As I was trying to explain my situation, I was interrupted several times and wasn't able to get my point across. Clearly, the manager was not willing to help and was patronizing, to say the least! I am from out of state, was desperate for a repair and had no other options! Needless to say I ended up walking out of the store in tears. The lack of customer service at this location and the lack of the willingness to help, I would never want somebody else to experience it! Several terrible experiences with this Lens Crafters location. I went in and picked out frames, they made my glasses and a week later I picked them up. I wore them for a week or so but could not get comfortable in them. I went back to lens crafters where they were of little help. I finally went to my eye doctor and he checked the glasses - they were made with a completely different prescription than the one I had given when I ordered the glasses! I went back to Lens Crafters and they were rude, but finally gave in and remade my glasses with the correct prescription. No apologies, nothing. One year later, the glasses are completely unusable because the anti-glare coating they use is cheap - it is peeling and flaking off. I spent $649 at Lens Crafters for a total waste of time and terrible product. The salespeople who adjust your glasses here are usually pretty rude, I have stopped going in completely, even though the location is convenient. I have had several bad adjustments, and one time, I brought in my glasses to have new lenses put in, and when they called me to pick them up, the new lenses were not only terrible quality, but when I asked for the original lenses back (they were in the frames when I dropped them off, usually you get these returned to you), I was told "they're in the garbage, thats your problem". So I was left with frames with no lenses. Seriously? Terrible service, terrible product! Stay away from this place unless you literally have no other option!! read more

To address the review by CB O.: The doctors office WILL give you your pupillary distance if you ask them for it. A preliminary measurement is taken during pretesting, and the doctor will do a manual measurement if asked. It does not cost extra, and they're not withholding it from patients to make them buy lenses/frames at LensCrafters...the doctors office here is privately owned. I work in eyecare, and the PD is only really important to an optician...patients only want it if they plan to order glasses online. So, yes, it is typically taken when measured for glasses (most opticians will double check one given to them anyway). That does not mean that the doctor cannot or will not measure it for you, and also give you the information. read more

I am new to Vermont and I brought my daughter there to get glasses. Let me be clear, the doctor next to this location was awesome as was their staff. LensCrafters is not. The lady waiting on me made me think I had bad insurance and stated they would only cover 47.00. My bill was over 400. When I got home I logged in and seen they were out of network. I notified the corporate office and they said to call that office. I called and the same lady answered and I told her I wanted it cancelled. She said ok. I do have the email telling me to call her and since it was the same day no problem at all. Yesterday I get a text stating glasses are ready. I checked my card and they did not remove the charge. This is not acceptable. I have made a complaint to the BBB as well. I will continued to contact review agencies and their corporate office until this is resolved. Bottom line do not go there. They charge almost triple as anywhere else and they will not tell you that they are not in network. I went to Cosco and without using my insurance I got me two pairs and my daughter 1 for less than LensCrafters cost for one pair. Now I can use my insurance to get my daughters contact lenses. Oh and those glasses were ready same day as the ones I did not want at LensCrafters. Costco took one week and LensCrafters took almost three weeks. read more

This place is amazing ashley who help me with my glasses I highly recommend her she didn't rush me she was patient and she tried helping to lower my cost I definitely would go back I will say if you have really bad eyesight with stigmatism it's not the same day prescription they told me it'll be a week but other than that the service was awesome read more

My wife and I had the best experience at Lenscrafters. Joia, the manager, thoroughly helped us through the process, but Ashleigh led the way with our selection of frames and lenses. Being in the medical field myself, and being the ripe old age of 63, I must say that, and my wife and I shared similar feelings, that we never, EVER, had a better eye exam than that of through the hands and skill of David Morris, OD. My visit to LensCrafters on March 13, 2019, will be my last. I was prepared to purchase frames with my new prescription. I knew the style frame I wanted to wear with my motorcycle helmet. Now, this was not the first time I have purchased frames to wear with my various helmets. The clerk basically told me he could not sell me glasses unless I brought in my helmet. When I tried to tell him this has never been a problem as I have different helmets that I wear. He insisted that he knew more than I did and continued to treat me as though I was twelve. A lady clerk in the store asked me if there was a problem. I explained to her that I was told I could not purchase glasses unless I went home and brought back my helmet. I was there for about 10 or 15 minutes and their were 2 people working with 1 person and basically ignored me!!! This is the 3rd time I've been here in the past few months, they used to have really good customer service, I think they have really gone down hill. I recomended to my husb. to go to lens crafters in Burl to get his glasses. We went into the store and started looking at glasses and we didnt get any assistance. We decided to leave and come back (they looked busy). When we went back, we began looking at glasses again. I saw 1 clerk that was free, and 1 clerk that was working on a computer. We began looking at glasses, but we had questions. We turned to wait our turn for help. A lady walked in after us and the one clerk said to her, "may I help you" and bypassed us! so we waited again..this clerk helped her, then he skipped us again and helped another person who walked in..OMG! we got skipped over twice..By then we were frustrated and comenced to walk out. I walked by the clerk working on a computer and I didnt hesitate to give him my opinion. We drove 75 miles one way, to go to this store! We went to Pearl vision and they helped us right away! the customer who came in after us was "acknowledged" and spoken to "We'll be right with you" How bout that?? read more

The service in the story was okay, I suppose. I do, however, notice a cheap trick: they don't provide the pupillary distance with their optician's "prescription." I have NEVER heard of a prescription not including this measurement, and they don't to ensure that you buy glasses from Lenscrafters rather than from somewhere else (they say "you usually get that measurement when you're being fitted for glasses." This is false). This is a problem because they advertise that they have an optician, and that you can get an "eye exam." An eye exam should include the full suite of measurements. read more

This is the worst Lenscrafters I've encountered in the 15+ years I've worn glasses. I don't base this on one singular visit, either. I moved to Vermont from New Hampshire a couple years ago and every single time I visit this location I have a negative experience. No associates ever greet me, never offer to help me and are always too busy to actually make a decent transaction (they have zero patience for discussing finance options and put minimal effort in finding my insurance in the system). Even trying to call the doctor's office inside is a miserable affair; no one answers the phone and someone on the sales floor will take the call only to rudely tell me that I need to talk to the doctor's office for what I need. It's just always a nightmare, I only tolerate it because they have certain frame styles that I can't find elsewhere in the area. I loved both the Lenscrafters that I went to in NH (Mall of NH and South Willow Street Manchester), so it shocks me how terrible this one is in comparison. read more

I purchased 2 pairs of glasses from this LensCrafters location less than a year ago, on September 20, 2015. One pair was for straight reading while the other pair had progressive lenses. I was told it may take a while to get used to them. Several months later, I returned to LensCrafters to have the progressive lens glasses checked as my distance sight was still a bit blurry. They apparently checked the prescription and adjusted the frames behind the ears. Even after this, I continued to have difficulty seeing distances so figured that it was my eyes changing slightly and just used the glasses for going out and not for driving or day to day work that required vision accuracy. I continued to wear my old glasses 90% of the time. On my annual eye exam on August 10th, I had the glasses checked and was informed that the prescription was accurate. In fact, the prescription in these glasses was better than my old glasses so I should have been able to see even better. The problem lied in the fact that the progression line from near to far distance was way too high for me. Both the Optometrist and the lens technician said that they had never seen it so high in a lens as large as mine. There was no way that an adjustment would fix the problem and I would have to hold my head down to see properly at a distance. They suggested that I return to LensCrafters to have them replaced. When I returned the second time to LensCrafters the front office technician marked up the glasses where the progression lines were and checked it with my individual head position and also against my old glasses. This was never done on my first visit. She immediately agreed with the statement from my optometrist office that it was too high for me. However, she said that it was past any time period for correction with their computer system. When I stated that this should have been discovered when I first went to LensCrafters with the issue, she totally agreed with me. If someone is having problems seeing and the prescription is accurate, it means that the bifocal is not working for that particular individual and should have been corrected. She offered to check with the manager on staff and I agreed. I fully expected that LensCrafters would take care of the issue. However, she returned only to repeat that there was nothing they could do for me. The lens technician helping me was very understanding and said that if it were up to her she would have replaced them instantly but the manager refused to do anything. In fact, the manager didn't even take time to come out and speak to us. So just because, I assumed that it was my eyesight and not the construction of the lenses that were the issue, I now have a $455 pair of glasses that do not work for me. They did not even offer me a discount if I agreed to replace the lenses myself! Needless to say I will never return to LensCrafters again and would highly suggest that everyone purchase their glasses directly from their optometrist. read more
