I was running at least 20 minutes behind due to my GPS sending me the wrong way, causing me to miss most of my scheduled appointment. I called, and they told me that it might be a little bit of a wait, but they'd figure out how to get me in, and they did. My wait was actually only a few minutes. Alan was both kind and knowledgeable and explained to me what each machine would be doing and what it was for. I typically have a bit of anxiety when I start going to a new doctor, but he kept me laughing and put my mind at ease. When I met with Dr. Franz, he also was amazing at explaining things and going over the scans of my eyes and answered all of my questions. Despite me being late, he didn't rush me out of my appointment and made sure that I scheduled follow-ups so that we could keep an eye on how some things were progressing. I definitely recommend making an appointment here for your eyecare needs, especially if, like me, thorough care puts your mind at ease. read more

I was billed for an appointment I never scheduled... I've been there once three yrs ago ,but now I have no Eye insurance so I wouldn't have made an appointment. When I called they were very rude. And acted like I was lying. read more

I almost never write reviews, but my experience with Green Mountain Vision was horrible. After a recent visit, I called to ask a question about my prescription and eye exam and Gabrielle repeatedly and rudely cut me off while I was in the middle of a sentence and told me to "listen to her". This is probably the rudest I have ever been treated on the phone. People should not speak to another person the way she spoke to me. Do not go to them. Based on my experience, their focus is on getting you to purchase glasses from the LensCrafters store. During my exam with Dr. Franz, he repeatedly told me to get glasses for driving even though my eyes pass the required exam. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Worst optometrist EVER! It takes forever to get in there and they they treat you like you have the plague and are a nuisance to them. The doctor ALWAYS tries to diagnose everyone with showing signs of glaucoma, even my 14 year old ‍ and I found out the reason being is because that puts hundreds of dollars in his pocket for a 5 minute test (his own staff told me that one!). Other optometrists told me I absolutely do not show any risk factors for it at all. He also tries to push some off brand contacts you can only find from him for an absurd amount of money. Trying to contact them is an absolute nightmare, and don't even bother trying to get your prescription to order contacts or glasses online for a much better price than he or LensCrafters offers, they will fight you and the online company tooth and nail to hand it over. It was so bad, 1800contacts advised me to report him for unethical practices and said they have never had an eye doctor behave that way before with a patient trying to get contacts. He ended up charging me $20 to send it after fighting us for 2 weeks. Literally go to ANYONE ELSE! read more

These guys called me 3-4 times attempting to confirm my appointment. They left a voicemail saying, "please press prompt #1 or #2, to confirm." This did not confirm anything. I received another voicemail saying my appointment may be canceled because I didn't confirm! I returned this call and left a voicemail saying, "I am coming in, please don't cancel my appointment." I arrived early, just in case, to find GMV appeared closed. Some lady in lens crafters began to scold me about needing a mask. Finally, the receptionist at GMV appeared out of no where and was very rude. They didn't respond nicely and backs up lens crafter lady saying she wasn't yelling. I admittedly corrected myself by saying, "fine...sternly speaking." All around poor customer service, which I actually hold at great value. I will most likely walk out of here, due to this unnecessary, stressful set of circumstances. As I was writing this review, the receptionist began to shout at me stating, "nobody was yelling at you!" (Mind you, I was speaking to myself/my phone to focus on writing this review...) I responded, "Hey man, I'm not even talking to you~!~ I'm talking to my phone~!~I'll put :sternly: okay?!" With that, silence...just me and my phone again. I'm sure there are plenty of other optometrists willing to assist me with my vision. This is not the place. Super-duper rude staff. (P.s. I did walk out stating, "you can go ahead and cancel that appointment." I immediately scheduled a new appointment with optometrist's who have an exceptional staff and clearly value customer service! What a difference this makes in the general atmosphere!) GMV clearly doesn't give two sh*z about their customers...which, in turn, I also assume, my beloved eye care. I'm frankly surprised they're still in business. Perhaps they do have good eye doctors? I didn't get beyond the waiting room. I had a great experience here. The receptionists were super helpful and very courteous. They explained how I could get a rebate on the contact lenses and compiled all the documentation I needed in an envelope. The doctor was a nice guy too. He mentioned magic eye. One improvement they could make would be to have a magic eye book in the reception, because those books are so much fun to read. I also wish that there were appointments earlier in the day. I'm happy with my experience there and waiting my gift card from the lens manufacturer. read more

I know the doctor and also Gabrielle personally and they are both very good people. I did not know them until I had Eyesight issues and reached out to them and met with Doug. He is absolutely phenomenal, I would not trust my eyes with anyone else. Gabriella is a very sweet individual who is always there to help. I didn't have the opportunity to receive care at Green Mountain Vision, but I can the comment on the customer service experience. I had an appointment with GMV on 12/14 which I scheduled 3 weeks out. I got a voice message from the office the day before at 3:30pm detailing the appointment and asking for confirmation. I get calls all the time confirming appointments, so I didn't think anything about needing to call back. I took a half day off of work and drove an hour to the location. I got to the mall at exactly 1pm, but it did take me a couple of minutes to make my way to the office. When I arrived there were two people ahead of me. The clock read 1:04pm. Since apparently there was no rush to in-take me, I reached for the patient forms as to save time. I noticed the optometrist hovering around, appearing to try to get the admins attention. He walked back to his office and he walked out with his jacket on. I kept looking at the doctor, but suspected maybe someone else would be taking care of me. I really did not want to miss this appointment because I recently lost my glasses and hadn't seen a doctor in years. Minutes later the optometrists asked the receptionist if it was ok for him to leave, and she nodded saying yes it was ok to go.... Mind you, I am standing RIGHT THERE. Finally one of the receptionists was free and I stepped up to sign in. The second receptionist (who told the doctor it was ok to leave) cut in to say that he was no longer available. And because I didn't respond to the voice message the doctor waited (A TOTAL OF 4 minutes), but had to leave for his dogs appointment. I explained that I had driven an hour and taken a half day off for this appointment, but the receptionist all but blamed me for not calling back. I am totally understanding of personal situations that come up, but the way the receptionist acted and treated me was unprofessional. I felt like she could've cared less about putting me out. No apologies whatsoever. She just went right on to doing what she was doing before. If the doctor needed to take the time, then they should've called to reschedule the appointment not "confirm". Maybe it was bad timing, but if nothing else this office could use a lesson in customer service. Think twice before going... read more

I recently broke my only pair of glasses and I needed a new prescription fast! GMV got me in the next day for an exam and I had a great experience there. The staff was friendly and helpful and the doctor took time to show and explain to me more about a particular condition I have. Highly recommend this office to anyone looking for quality and convenient eye care! read more

Weird about the other reviews... I just moved to VT just happened to be in the mall. They scheduled me an appointment in a timely manner and were very friendly and smiley. Dr.Franz is very experienced and precise. They definitely gained a new patient. read more

Gabrielle is the rudest person alive. I went in there for an appointment and mentioned that I could probably just get a refill on my prescription and she immediately started talking at me and was super rude. Being that this was my first time getting a refill on a prescription I had no idea how this worked. Mind you, I just got contacts within a year and had the script on me. I grabbed the documents to sign and the rep asked for my contacts so she could start my file. I said I'd be up there in a moment, because truthfully I wanted to leave. Gabrielle comes around the counter and rudely asks me again for the contacts. At this point I was contemplating leaving even more and she made it so easy. I do not recommend this center at all. They're the nastiest people I have met. You'd think in a dying industry they'd learn better bedside manners. read more

I decided to go with GMV because of the EyeMed coverage I have. The doctor was fine but receptionist, Gabrielle (who stated she was the Manager), was beyond disrespectful on the phone and in person. I would rather find any other place than choose to visit this office again. If you have to have an eye exam done, look elsewhere. You will be glad you did. The drama is not worth it for a simple eye exam. read more
