After the last 3 appointments with Dr Islam, I strongly believe my review is warranted. I have been seeing Dr Islam for just over a year and a half. After just having being diagnosed with my eye condition, I started my appts with this Dr. After the first eye drop Rx not being completely successful, she suggested an eye drop that could possibly change my eye color dark. I asked if there were alternative drops that wouldn't do this......there was. Why, would the first one be suggested then?? Why? So, it's been a few series of visits, and each one has its own story but EACH AND EVERY appointment she mentions laser surgery. WHY, if my eye drops are working, would I consider having laser eye surgery?? To go down from 2 eye drops rx's to one?? That is not enough reason & there is no guarantee that the laser surgery would work, as in the case of my very dear friend. When I ask questions, she has a smile but her responses are incredibly smug. She throws me off with her smugness, because she does it with a smile, but she is absolutely smug, and condescending, with her replies. I'm really losing my confidence with her. This is the condensed version, but she has no problems setting up frequent & follow up appointments when a problem has resolved. I advised that I cannot come every week, but I will call if I have a continued problem, due to co-pays. The Dr, I'm sure did not even realize she LITERALLY shrugged her shoulders when I said that. Like, that is not her concern (high co pays). Well, I saved myself another copay by letting her know that if I have any additional issues, I will make an appointment. Did I really need to go back every week for an entire month? I have to leave from my appointments feeling like there is a piece missing to this puzzle. I'm sure I will never get the entire picture, but I will try 1 more appointment and see if I can start to have renewed confidence in this Dr. If not, I will change Dr's or change facilities. I need to feel confident with whom is providing me treatment. Right now, it's really slim.

I guess I got weary of military grade frames and lenses. Also, I just wanted to have more options on eye care and potentially better technology for my examination. Well, there was one impressive machine that was a true upgrade from the normal dilations that required sunglasses for hours at a time. Even with the extra $35 fee, it was worth trying and I got to see the pics as Dr. Potochick explained what he saw on the screen. No dilation. No funky shield. And thankfully, all was good with my eyes - retina in good shape! 5 Points Eye Associates has been around for a long time, since 1976. Dr. Potochick has been there since 2008 - a well-seasoned veteran in his occupation! Very thoughtful, courteous, and he'll answer all your questions. I was very impressed with the treatment and attention I received there. After the exam, it was time to choose frames. Tabitha took care of me and we worked through about 20 lenses before narrowing them down to 5. Then after working through those 5, it was clear the Ray Ban was the winner! Rev now sports Ray Ban's for his daily eyewear! These glasses are comfortable, look great, and finally, I have progressive lenses! (The military doesn't offer progressives). I'm getting used to my new progressive lenses right now. Been good so far - at least writing this review with them on was pretty easy overall! I chose to write my review on 5 Points when the job was completed before rating and writing my review. I will say that I can recommend them highly. Picking them up today and their taking care of me with solid professionalism and seeing to the completion of being sure the glasses were going to work for me was very impressive. The particular day I arrived there were a ton of people looking at glasses. I didn't see any disinfectant wipes to wipe down glasses after I saw others try them on, so took it upon myself to bring some wipes. I looked at a bunch of different frames, seriously if you're worried that you won't be able to find any name brand lenses, rest assured; they have a bunch of different ones to choose from (Gucci, Fendi, Cartier, Coach, Oakley, etc). After trying on a few pairs, my number was called. I set down a few pairs and asked the associate how much each particular frame would cost based on my insurance. I whittled my choices down to two, then finally picked a pair based on price and look. The woman that helped me was pleasant, took my Prescription. I paid and then was told it would be about 7-10 days. After seven days I contacted the store and spoke to Jarrod; the manager. He said they had just gotten a shipment of glasses in and said he'd go in the back and check. To my delight my glasses were in that shipment. I went a few days later to pick up my glasses. It was an easy process. A few weeks later I had to get the adjusted, so when I went to Costco again they adjusted them for me. Pros: -variety of frames -brand names -helpful staff -quick turnaround Cons: -frames can be costly even with insurance -long lines Tip: when you arrive at the optical center, be sure to grab a number or else you'll be waiting a while.

I bought frames from Vooglam even more beautiful and better quality but due to an accident I lost a screw didn't have an eyeglass kit so thought I'd ask them to put a screw in no because I didn't buy them there ended up giving the frames to an ex friend who stole them instead of putting the screw in. The office staff was heartless didn't call emergency when I said I was walking into traffic because the screw luckily a concerned person picked me up in the middle of the road calmed me down and took me home.

My eyes are very similar to hers and I was well overdue for an exam so I decided to go to the same place as her. The dr and staff are very friendly. While I waited another patient came in who I could tell must've been going there for years. At the end of my exam, I was able to pick from their assortment of eyewear and felt they had a great selection. A couple months later I decided I wanted to try ordering a pair online so I called to ask for the specifics of my prescription and they emailed it to me very quickly. Turns out I do have the same condition as my mom so the doctor recommended me to a specialist who was also wonderful.
