One hour? Hardly, I've been trying to get glasses from these folks since January 2014. It's now April, 5, 2014.
OK. Extreme nearsightedness meant that special lens material had to be used, and since I drive a truck over-the-road causes me to be away from home all but two or three days a month had some effect on the time factor. Never-the-less, it's been three months!
The special material meant a two week wait.
The glasses included magnetic clip-on sunglasses. The sunglasses would not stay in place, no matter how much Brian twisted, bent, and warped both frames. The solution: Get another set of lenses, this time having the frame mounting groove cut as close as physically possible to the front face of the lenses.
Another two-week wait.
The revised lenses allowed the magnetic sunglasses to stay attached to the frame while in the office or walking around, but not while driving the truck and the lenses were moved so far back that my eyelashes rubbed the lenses causing discomfort to my eye and leaving streak marks on the lens. Both totally intolerable situations. The solution: Give up on the magnetic sunglasses entirely. Go to using two pairs of glasses. One pair plain, the other sunglasses !
Everything is fine so far. Actually excellent customer service!
By the end of March, I had received no notice from them about the status of my (paid for in January) order. So I called them. Brian wasn't there, the lady on the phone couldn't help and the manager was busy, but would call me back. She never did!
I called back again the next day. I eventually got Christy, the store manager, who checked the computer and said there was some confusion and problems. It appeared that a pair of plain glasses were ready, but a frame couldn't be located for the sunglasses AND Brian had "stashed" what they did have in "some nook or drawer or somewhere only he knew" and he wasn't there. That was either a lame excuse or an indicator that management was not organized. So, they don't call back and they don't know what's going on.
So, I dig around and find the corporate headquarters ( Luxottica, Mason, OH) call them, get the customer relations group. Butch there assures me that he will find out what's going on and will call me back. Two days later, I call him back, several times until I do finally get back to him. Leaving request for him to call me doesn't work.
He eventually tells me that the store has found the hidden package, that there is one completed set of glasses and a set of sunglasses lenses. They have located another identical frame in North Little Rock, but they can't transfer them to Little Rock or transfer the lenses to North Little Rock because the North Little Rock store was being inventoried.
Sounds BOGUS to me. I spent 20 years in accounting. Doing inventory on a fairly small retail outlet doesn't take very long, AND there should be a system in place to allow ordinary daily transactions to take place!
Anyhow, I eventually get in touch with Brian, tell him to expect me the next day around noon on Saturday, April 5th. When I'll pick out another frame for the sunglasses. I expect they will then be able to put the sunglasses together.
I get to the store on Saturday, April 5, 2014 expecting my glasses and a short delay getting the sunglasses. I get to the store, pick out another frame. Then Brian then tells me that the regular glasses had "Failed a quality control test on April 2, 2014" and we're having to be redone.
EPIC FAIL !!!!!!
I neither raised my voice (well, not much) nor used every day, common, truck-driver-four-letter-adjectives when I asked him, "Which of you geniuses figured that was something that you didn't need to tell me?"
So, I still yet don't have my glasses! One star is a way too high rating! There needs to be a "Lower-than-a-snake's-belly-in-a- wagon-rut rating!!! These people have earned it!!! read more
