NYU Langone is blowing up all over long island; imagine my shock (after speaking to 6 different people), when I was told they don't have the equipment to do my CT Scan, and I had to go all the way into Manhattan to get it done?! How is that even possible?! Next, I called Northwell Health, who is able to do the CT Scan but I would have to wait a month to get an appointment. Oy vey! Luckily, someone recommended NY Imaging Specialists, and Bingo! They took my insurance, and I was able to get an appointment for the following week! I was in and out within half an hour! I didn't even get a chance to sit down in their waiting area. lol Talk about service! The entire staff, from the front desk to the technician, were all so kind and professional. Truly a stress-free experience! And I got my results in two days! Highly Recommended!!

I took the earliest appointment to not miss work, and Dr. Tobin was running late. I was already prepped with the initial sonogram that morning and laid out on the table. The doctor walked in without saying much, used the sonogram machine to scan for the mass, kept sighing, covering and uncovering her mouth. She left the room without saying anything, re-entered and proceeded to do the same again. She then told me risks associated with the procedure and said, "But if you want me to do it, I can." I was confused because the biopsy was recommended and scheduled. It was not explained to me that there were options before this point nor did I think moments before the procedure was the best time to have this conversation. She stated statistics to me, and I began to cry because regardless of numbers, I have been overwhelmed and scared at the thought of having cancer. She then said, "If you're going to lose sleep over this, I can do it," which I did not think was an appropriate comment, and then restated the risks with the procedure. I asked to call a family member for their opinion and she stepped out of the room. I asked the supporting medical staff if the doctor was having a bad day due to how rude and annoyed she seemed, and the staff member said that was her general affect, and she tried her best to explain the conflicting recommendations for next steps nicely. I left that day not doing the biopsy, not because I did not want it done, but because I felt Dr. Tobin was completely unprofessional and did not have an ounce of empathy for me as a patient. Her constant restatement of the risks made me feel that she was not confident in her ability to do the biopsy, and her tone made me feel that she was annoyed I was considering having the biopsy done after she stated the statistics that put me in a lower risk category. I felt pressured to go with her recommendation of a follow up mammogram. I left in tears. I will never come back to this imaging center as this was completely unacceptable and the doctor should be ashamed that she treated a patient this way. Everyone else I have encountered at this center has been extremely nice and professional.

Check-in was easy, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and I didn't have to wait long past my appointment time. The waiting room and facility were clean, modern, and well maintained, and there was enough privacy while changing and getting ready for the test. The technologist explained what was going to happen beforehand and was friendly, patient, and professional throughout. The test itself was mildly uncomfortable, but they helped make it much more bearable and a lot less awkward than it could have been. I never felt rushed, and any questions I had were answered. The imaging process felt organized and efficient, and I felt like everyone knew what they were doing. The radiologist also went over the results with me during the visit and explained that they would be sent to my doctor as well, which I appreciated. I had no issues with insurance, paperwork, parking, or finding the office, and check-out was easy as well. My appointment was scheduled for 8:15 AM, but I quickly discovered that the facility does not officially open or begin processing patients until 8:30 AM. Fortunately, once 8:30 AM hit, the staff moved promptly. They immediately handed out the necessary paperwork, which took about 5 minutes to complete. Right after turning it in, I was called to the back for my procedure. The medical portion itself was incredibly quick, lasting only 7 minutes. Thanks to the fast-moving staff, I was entirely finished and out the door by 9:00 AM. Overall, the medical care and processing are highly efficient, but they should align their scheduling with their actual opening hours to prevent patients from waiting outside.

Do not expect a similar scenario at Massapequa Imaging; my wife's doctor suspects pneumonia, and ordered an X-ray. My wife had it done at Massapequa imaging Tuesday, mid-day. Thursday afternoon she called to find out where the results were, and was told no one had read them yet. My wife, while still coughing, managed to ask when her doctor could expect the results. Massapequa Imaging said they wound 'red flag' it. Which meant yet another 24 hours. That conversation took place 24 hours ago; still no results. We tried calling three times, but no one had the decency to answer. Our doctor called, but her call was not taken either. Massapequa Imaging dies not do their job; irresponsible and unprofessional are words that apply. Making an elderly woman with pneumonia symptoms just wait and cough. Massapequa Imaging responds to all of their bad reviews the same way: 'Sorry!' Saying sorry does not help one bit. It is not a professional response. Instead of sorry, how about just doing your job? It's just shameful.

Now I will say it was kind of weird walking through a mall to go have a mammogram. However the clinic itself looked like a high end medispa. From the waiting room filled with refreshments to the pretty pink robes you wear during your exam. However the best part about this place is the STAFF. Hands down the best! Mind you this was a scary process for me. After my repeat mammogram it was deemed I did needed a biopsy. Well I lost it. I broke down and was completely scared I had the "big C". The staff was so empathetic. They literally circled me and comforted me. One shared her personal scare with me and told me what to expect . Another reached out to clinic that would do biopsy to give the warm hand off. The tech herself gave me a hug and told me I would be OK. I am a very reserved person when it comes to my feelings but in that moment I was alone and scared and each one of those ladies were a girls girl. From the friendly receptionists right when you walk in those doors & the security team who locks up your belongings while you're in surgery to the nurses- lots of nurses- they were all very sweet, caring just simply great and my doctor- Dr. Gilbert- an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hand & upper extremity surgery- he is truly amazing. Not to mention, they literally waste no time- I was on the bed, hooked up to an IV within minutes, waited a little while, anesthesia kicked in, the last thing I remember was being in the OR & woke up in the recovery room. The PACU nurse made sure I was OK, gave me graham crackers & water, and even helped me get dressed. I was indeed well taken care of at this Hospital.
