This is a small park, around 7acres, that can easily be believed to be property of the neighboring apartment complex. It runs between an apartment complex and a street. Across the street from the park, you will find some houses. There is not much to this park. There is a playground area on a bed of wood mulch with a bank of traditional and toddler swings. There is also a jungle gym with a bunch of slides (normal, wavy and spiral), bridges, a tunnel, an intercom. The equipment is in fair condition. You will see a few benches along the playground areas perimeter for people to sit.
Parking is simple. You can either park in the apartment complex or along the street. Either one gives you a short walk. The park's main attraction is its greenspace. There are large flat fields at this park. They are very nice sized and could be suitable for playing any field game including football, soccer, playing catch, having a picnic, or flying a kite. For the dog lovers, the park is home to the Blackjack Dog Park, a no frills, basic sanctuary for our four-legged friends.
This is definitely not a destination park. Its value comes by way of the near by residents. For that group. It is a neat place to run around. It is a win-win for the apartment complex. They get a playground area, that they do not have to pay for or maintain since it is property of the city. read more
