This was a nice park in Old Town Alexandria at the eastern end of King St. You can get a nice view of the Potomac River from here. I normally walk down here after eating dinner at a nearby restaurant to enjoy the beautiful early evening views. I suppose nearby parking would be hard to find, but I've always been here on foot. There's always people out exercising and little kids running around. read more

This is a beautiful piece of green space, nicely landscaped located at the shores of the Potomac river, right in Old Town. There are plaques commemorating war veterans, sculptures, war weapons on display, green spaces for picnics, and many shops and restaurants, just across the street. It's a nice part of Alexandria. Parking can be an absolute nightmare. That detracts from the fun. On a beautiful day, this is decent for relaxing. My suggestion is park at Jones Point Park, and walk here. You'll get exercise and not pay for parking. There's some nice river views. The Potomac is looking better than it used to. Still don't recommend eating fish caught here. This is a nice area for families or couples to chill. Plenty nearby to see and do. It's a decent park, and the chairs are comfortable. read more

Such a nice waterfront! There are peaceful areas to just sit and enjoy the view and also a section of restaurants by the water thats more lively. Lots of people and a fun vibe. Definitely a great place for group hangouts or families as well. Didn't spend too much time here, just walked around and explored but we definitely want to come back and try a restaurant and just do more general adventuring. read more

Another nice park in Alexandria. It has a good location. Waterfront Park is located in Old Town. Has a good view of the Potomac. This can be reached by getting on the free trolley. Here you can find plenty of benches. It seems like a good place just for sitting. The park is right along the river, and there's so many nice views. Also here is lots of public art. The public art will change from year to year. Also here are the docks. This is where people keep their boats so you can see lots of people coming here and sailing. It has several ways to get here. One is by the bicycle and running paths. You can also use the King Street Trolley. read more

The Vola restaurant has clusters of people waiting outside for a table out on the deck. A good place to visit if you are in Old Town Alexandria - two parks in one This is a park located on the river side of Old Town Alexandria. There are several parking options. There is a set of parking spots along the west side of the park, street parking around the city, and a free lot south at Jone's Park which is a 10 min walk away. The park is a large open field with a walkway along the water, that heads both north and south. The park connects to King Street Park, another open field park, just to the north of this one. There is an awning-covered seating area with tables on the north side of both parks. There is a walking trail to the north and south along the river with informational signs and displays that describe the sights along the trail. There are several shops and restaurants in Old Town Alexandria just to the west of the field. The field has several large trees and some well-worn grass. There is a large, "I Love You" sign facing the street that offers a good picture option. It seems a hub of activity the times that I have been there and offers a good view of the Potomac River. It is a good place to visit if you are planning to visit Old Town Alexandria and want an easy place to park and enjoy a walk along the river. read more

Located on the park at the end of King Street you cannot help but catch a glimpse of this lovely beauty due to all the beautiful colors. Brought to the waterfront by SOFTlab out of NY, the installation adds park appeal to the area!! As the first of many installations to come I will be keeping an eye out to see what comes next!! Perfect to bring the kiddos to to let them entertain themselves since the installation reacts to sound and light!! For the older ones, it is the perfect photo opp for all ages and the installation itself is a great interactive experience!! I need to make my way back when I can take more photos, with all the kiddos running around, I let them enjoy themselves to the fullest. The park is relaxing and boasts of waterfront view including, the Potomac River, MGM and the Woodrow Wilson bridge in the distance. Vibes are view friendly all the way around. read more

Beautiful waterfront with clear view of the river, live street music, stunning colonial houses surrounding. Good spot for picnic, Walkable, pedestrian-friendly and dog-friendly! With great restaurant around to check out too, like Mia's Italian and Mai Thai. It's hard to find parking in the area, especially on warm sunny days. It's better to take metro and stop at King Street station - and then walk to this waterfront. read more

A great waterfront area. It was clean (no litter or debris floating around). There were different acts performing. There was a magician guy, a guy playing a saxophone, and a guy singing. So many eateries, bars, and shops surrounding this area. Love it! read more

Pretty park, and well, that is about it. There is not much really to get into about this park. Sure, you get a great view of the Potomac River as life passes you by, and the unobstructed view of the Woodrow Wilson bridge is certainly nice. Yes, seeing some overhead air traffic from DCA is also a plus. After that, I get flush out of ideas. What else? It has green space and is just a leisurely place to get away from some of the bustle of NoVA. The restaurants nearby scream aloud in their outlandish prices. Good thing you are only a 10-15 minute walk from some more affordable options on King Street. I guess if you want a pretty park in NoVA, this one will work. But you can skip this one and find someplace better. I will not be offended if you do. read more

I walk my dogs everywhere and this was a nice break from the traffic and the heat. Unfortunately not a place where they or you could swim.

The waterfront park contrasts the nearby Founders park by being busier and more artificial. It is at the end of King street and its accompanying shuttle, and it is at the docks, so Alexandria visitors are likely to be around here and it's a nice place for a quick stop. There are various large structures for children to play in, and they seem to be trying to get more plant growth going. For a relaxing stay, Founders is better, but this one has its uses. read more

One of the reasons I love Old Town so much is that, as of now, the waterfront area is open, accessible, and without a plan. However, there is a major redevelopment plan, including some Eminent domain action, for the entire waterfront area under consideration. I think it's my goal to document all the green and open spaces in the area. :) Waterfront Park is a 1/3 of an acre of grass, trees, and plants with a few items (cannon, shipbuilding statue, etc.) that lies against a stretch of the Potomac. The river's not much of look at but if you're looking for a space to lay down on a town, throw a frisbee, or drink your coffee a block east of the main intersection in Old Town, head here. read more

Waterfront Park is cute and relaxing for the area, but like the rest of Crystal City - there is something about it that isn't as aesthetically pleasing as other water feature areas in Arlington. I am not a huge fan of all the concrete. Crystal City is trying to have more 'green features', however, I feel it lacks here. What I do like about this park is all the seating and shade available plus there is a cute little Egyptian food place onsite. This isn't a place I would go out of my way to go to, however, if you are in the area - check it out. read more

I loved this park. On a clear day, you can look down the Potomac River and see the U.S. Capitol building. You're also in the path of flights arriving into Reagan National Airport. It was a clear day, so I had a great view of it all, and some cute Mallards. :-) read more

I love Waterfront Park in Old Town Alexandria! Located right next to the Old Town Alexandria Waterfront and right off of King Street, it's the perfect place for a stroll or a picnic and affords beautiful views of the Potomac River. On clearer days, you can see clearly across to National Harbor across the river. There are plenty of park benches, shaded areas (lots of lovely trees), and there is a swing area as well. You have 360 views of the waterfront, King Street, and the river. I would say that this is the most crowded of the waterfront parks in Old Town Alexandria, so it's not as nice for social distancing purposes in the midst of a global pandemic as the other parks are, but it's a great place to visit when it's not so crowded. This park is also where the rotating art installations in Old Town Alexandria are located. Last year, the art installation was the "Mirror Mirror" light installation, and this year, it's the "Wrought, Knit, Labors, Legacies" by Olalekan Jeyifous, a set of sculptures depicting Alexandria's history. Waterfront Park is a perfect place to spend an afternoon. And in non-pandemic times, they hold festivals (such as beer and wine festivals), which I've attended in the past. Definitely worth a visit, I'd say! read more

Old Town has a few parks, but this one is my favorite - a great place to relax, smoke a cigar, throw a football around, etc. The best part... As with the other parks in Old Town, it's kept clean and serviceable no matter what the weather. When heavy rains come and wash driftwood and debris up onto the trail, crews have it cleared and gone within 24 hours, often less. When it snows, they get the trail walkable in a day. You don't see trash lying around, and it's never so crowded that it doesn't feel peaceful. Adjacent to the Torpedo Factory complex, so there's a place to get food & drink and return to enjoy while you're there. Hopefully this park will remain despite some pending construction initiatives. It's one of the best things in Old Town. read more

Great place to stop by if you've been having breakfast, lunch, or dinner in the area and go for a walk. It's also if you're looking to take the kids out, to get out yourself. It's not a huge space, but there is a walkway that connects to the Mount Vernon trail that will take you up to Reagan / Gravlee point, and eventually Arlington cemetery. There are benches to sit and watch the water, or the ducks and boats on the river. It's a great little walk. read more

This park was gorgeous down by the water. My only complaint is that we ventured down to the park for the "dog park" that is located in the park. But it seems to be more of an unofficial dog park. The north end of the park had lots of dogs around, running off their leash, but I hesitated because the park is not enclosed. I was even unsure if I could let little Misha off her leash or not. The dogs had a blast running around, but I was a nervous wreck, worried that Misha would be running around, not be aware of her surroundings and run into the street. I was also very nervous about all the small children and other adults around with the off leash dogs. It just seems like an accident waiting to happen. Needless to say, we did not hang out very long with Misha at the park. read more

My boyfriend and I came here after we had lunch up the block at Momo sushi. I liked this park - we strolled around by the water for awhile especially because the weather was so nice from what we've been having. Everyone was out. The view is not so great but maybe because the trees had no leaves yet. I'm from New Jersey and all of our parks have views of the beautiful New York skyline so I guess that spoiled me. In the summer it could be a different view. There is a ferry (I'm not sure where it takes you too). A lot of musicians showing us there talents. Incredibly relaxing spot to pass time. Lovely boardwalk to take a nice walk, the gazebo area was just adorable. We waded in the water in late May and people watched: kids in swim suits having fun while parents sat and read, fishermen with wading boots, bicycle rosters, etc. There was a nice veteran's memorial and a sculpture tribute to victims of terrorism, I think, that was designed by local high school students. This was a place for us to stop and make a plan for our trip to Sandy Hook, and it was well worth the rest. The site is too rocky to truly enjoy going into the water. There were no food sales, vending machines out even trash reciprocals, or else I would have given it 5* read more

I took my mom and 3 young kids to the waterfront park during spring break. It is a lovely place to relax and unwind. There's waterfront seating, beautiful lawn for the kids to run around or to Have a picnic at. There's a cannon for the kids to climb on. Simplicity at its best. Free street parking for 2 hours. You can switch spots after 2 hours or park in the paying garage ($13) if you are going to ride a boat etc... It's also very close, walking distance to pizzerias and ice- creams. For hot days, I recommend going early in the morning plus the crowd gets bigger and shade is limited. read more
