this park doubles as an overpass of the woodrow wilson bridge....from an aerial view, it's actually…read morequite pretty since you can see the intricate landscaping of this landmark. i didn't spend too much time here, as i was just "passing by" on the way to the woodrow wilson bridge trail during my morning run from national harbor, md to alexandria, va via the wilson bridge. the climb to get here was mildly challenging, but short, and i had just a few minutes to admire this park before i ascended onto the bridge. there aren't any restrooms or water fountains here, but one could take time to sit on one of the many benches and just admire the panoramic views of the potomac river and national harbor. this park is suitable for walkers, runners, rollerbladers and cyclists, but is not open to cars - vehicles have their own ramp up to the bridge.

This was one of the Jr Ranger stations on the map, so while we were closer to the city, we choose to come here as they open fairly early compared to the others. We were the only people there other than the rangers. It is quiet the walk from the parking lot, but scenic with farm animals on the way to the station. The inside area was amazing, with facts, books, coloring station, a map of local stations and examples of badges from there (super cool), interactive cow milking station (with water), a play farm stand, etc. We got to learn about the site, and had an opportunity to learn about the five different animals they keep, see the feed for each of them and helped feed the chickens. Was a great experience for all of us. Thank you!

Make sure you get there promptly at 10 or else you might miss the opportunity. There are not many animals here but the fact that it's so close makes it perfect for a fun little outing. Other than the chickens there are cows, pigs, horses and goats. The visitor center has some coloring pages and books for kids. There are picnic tables by the parking lot, and clean bathrooms by the visitor center.

The park has a picnic shelter with picnic tables under it and a grill just outside of it. It has two picnic tables. One of the tables is rectangular and the other is a square table with a checkerboard on it. There is also a couple of picnic tables and a grill in a grassy area in the center of the park's circle. You will also find a nice full basketball court at the park and a nice paved trail passes through it. It is a really nice trail and very peaceful. The highlight of the park though, is its playground. The playground has a rubber mud free floor, which is in great shape. There are benches around the playground's perimeter where parents can sit and watch their little ones. The playground's equipment includes a small jungle gym with slides, a large net climbing structure with a slide. There is also a bank of swings with a toddler swing, An ADA compliant swing, and some traditional swings. This is a very nice park. I didn't know if I would make a special trip to visit, but it is still very nice. I ended up here because I had picked up some food from a carryout joint and needed a place to eat it. The park's picnic shelter was the perfect spot. So, if you are in the area, and looking for a park to visit. I recommend checking this place out.

There is lots of space to park, very clean, and beautiful to look at. My nieces loved the blue color. There's a jungle gym, slides, swings for big kids and toddlers. The size is on the smaller side so it might get boring after an hour. My rec is 30-60 minutes stay. Also it's in a neighborhood which is a bit inconvenient when driving through. Stop by if you're already in the area but I wouldn't make a special trip again.

This section of waterfront is in the process of developing. I'm glad that land is available for…read morepedestrian use, but this is still very much a work in process. After bypassing a fenced in yard that separates this park from Downtown Alexandria, I was greeted by a nice little path but a bunch of collapsing boardwalk structures with signs to stay away. Hopefully in its final form the park will have more to offer, but at this point it's just an area to walk through.

I've been to Oronoco Bay Park on two occasions: 1. the International Food Festival (don't quote me…read moreon that name) and 2. Alexandria Half marathon post-race shenanighans. I love that fact that this park sits on the shore of the Potomac River. Everyone says that if you visit Alexandria that you have to take a quick stroll around this park. While the park is nice, it feels more like a huge lawn, rather than an actual park. However, there is nothing wrong with that because it's a perfect place to have large events such as food festivals. Also, the views of the Potomac River are pretty nice. I will say that during my last visit, I noticed quite a bit of trash/debris that washed up on shore. But, this wasn't something too off putting.

It's best to go early. Plenty of benches and covered areas for comfort while in the sun. Great place to walk with your dog or go on a date. There were also other places you could park further down the walk if you don't want to start at the end near the bridge. Lovely walk that I would enjoy doing again.

The views of the Potomac are lovely and the urban + historic vibe is a real treat. The underpass is a great area to to hang out, get out of the sun and people-watch as there are sometimes dancers, group workouts, etc., going on. It gets a bit shady (aka questionable) here sometimes - hence the periodic police presence. The bathrooms and nearby areas can get trashed which is truly a shame. I would not come here after dark, but that's just me. I've been here many times and have some stories to tell so just putting that out there. Don't let it deter you, just use common sense and be aware of surroundings and you'll be A-OK :)

It gets to the point where I am unable to walk there or sit there to read because the unleashed out of control dogs are coming near me. So unsafe and dangerous... Also if there aren't unleashed dogs, there's someone smoking. Park could be great if they do more about the unleashed dogs and smoking.

My kids loved watching trains go by, and it is fully fenced in, so you can relax and kids can get any kind of locomotive show. They also made a bike/running trail along side the park. There is plenty of seating and places for families to relax or do a picnic lunch. The playground itself is also amazing! There is a toddler and big kid side. Every type of play equipment you can imagine. I was especially impressed by the maze on the toddler side. I am also not a parent of a child with disabilities, but I recognized some equipment for disabilities. This park really has it all.

It has a lot of green space available that is suitable for picnic, playing catch, or tossing a frisbee. Dogs are welcome, but must remain on a leash and must be cleaned up after. There is limited metered street parking available in front of the park and you will find a very nice paved walkway that runs along the front and back sides of the park. You will find a like of joggers and bicyclist using this trail. This park has two completely fenced in play areas. One is a little bigger than the other, but they have pretty much the same equipment. They both have a see-saw, walking beams, sit and spins, a bank of traditional/toddler swings, hammock rockers, and large jungle gyms with slides, monkey bars, rings, and bridges. The smaller play area has a toddler maze and the larger area has a rock structure, and zip hangar. On the perimeter of both areas are benches where caregivers can sit and watch their littles while they play. The park is very well maintained and the equipment looks pretty new and is in great shape. In between the two play ares you will find the highlight of the park, an interactive fountain that features thirty-six water jets. I visited the park on the hot day and the fountain was packed. Pets are not allowed in the fountain as well as the two playground areas. This is a nice linear park, that as i have mentioned, is well maintained. There is tons of seating all over the park. The park does not have much to offer as shade goes, but that should not stop you from visiting. I also did not see any restroom facility either. Even with that, I really like this park and recommend checking this place out.
