The park has a picnic shelter with picnic tables under it and a grill just outside of it. It has two picnic tables. One of the tables is rectangular and the other is a square table with a checkerboard on it. There is also a couple of picnic tables and a grill in a grassy area in the center of the park's circle. You will also find a nice full basketball court at the park and a nice paved trail passes through it. It is a really nice trail and very peaceful. The highlight of the park though, is its playground. The playground has a rubber mud free floor, which is in great shape. There are benches around the playground's perimeter where parents can sit and watch their little ones. The playground's equipment includes a small jungle gym with slides, a large net climbing structure with a slide. There is also a bank of swings with a toddler swing, An ADA compliant swing, and some traditional swings. This is a very nice park. I didn't know if I would make a special trip to visit, but it is still very nice. I ended up here because I had picked up some food from a carryout joint and needed a place to eat it. The park's picnic shelter was the perfect spot. So, if you are in the area, and looking for a park to visit. I recommend checking this place out.

There is lots of space to park, very clean, and beautiful to look at. My nieces loved the blue color. There's a jungle gym, slides, swings for big kids and toddlers. The size is on the smaller side so it might get boring after an hour. My rec is 30-60 minutes stay. Also it's in a neighborhood which is a bit inconvenient when driving through. Stop by if you're already in the area but I wouldn't make a special trip again.

This park has a small parking lot. It is located on the site of the old Fort Foote. There is not…read moremuch of the Fort remaining. I saw 2 15-inch Rodman Cannons, a house water trof and some collapsed cement structures. At the front of the park is a huge patch of green space with picnic tables under shade trees and a restroom structure. The Fort dates back to 1863, was constructed to defend the water approach to Washington DC and operated to 1878. It spans about 70 acres and sits 100 feet above the Potomac River. Along the backside of the trail (along the river) you can see Alexandria, The George Washington Masonic National Memorial, Mount Vernon and other monuments. The Park also has a small beach area to explore as well. I liked the placard, to the left as you enter the trails with the picture that has the superimposed image of what the Fort's gate looked like. I gave me a real idea of where the Fort was and you can really see where the gate would have been. To the left is also where you will find the 2 cannons. If you go to the right you will eventually hit the beach, The park is located off the water and has some nice, be it short nature trails. There are also some open green space. There was a guy in one of the fields letting his unleashed dogs running wild. Outside of the few remnants of the Fort, and some information placards, this is a decent and somewhat fairly maintained nature park. It is far off of the road and is very peaceful. I would recommend wearing long pants and a long sleeved shirt because some areas has some thick brush. Bug spray would not be a bad idea either. I like this park. You can just feel the history. I wish there was more of the Fort that was preserved, but oh well, the placards placed around the park do a decent job explaining where you are located in reference to the Fort. This place is definitely worth a visit. Being a nature park, it is not very accesible and would be very challenging for someone with mobility issues. I enjoyed my time at the park in addition to getting a little peace, I learned a bit as well.

This was one of the Jr Ranger stations on the map, so while we were closer to the city, we choose to come here as they open fairly early compared to the others. We were the only people there other than the rangers. It is quiet the walk from the parking lot, but scenic with farm animals on the way to the station. The inside area was amazing, with facts, books, coloring station, a map of local stations and examples of badges from there (super cool), interactive cow milking station (with water), a play farm stand, etc. We got to learn about the site, and had an opportunity to learn about the five different animals they keep, see the feed for each of them and helped feed the chickens. Was a great experience for all of us. Thank you!

Make sure you get there promptly at 10 or else you might miss the opportunity. There are not many animals here but the fact that it's so close makes it perfect for a fun little outing. Other than the chickens there are cows, pigs, horses and goats. The visitor center has some coloring pages and books for kids. There are picnic tables by the parking lot, and clean bathrooms by the visitor center.

This section of waterfront is in the process of developing. I'm glad that land is available for…read morepedestrian use, but this is still very much a work in process. After bypassing a fenced in yard that separates this park from Downtown Alexandria, I was greeted by a nice little path but a bunch of collapsing boardwalk structures with signs to stay away. Hopefully in its final form the park will have more to offer, but at this point it's just an area to walk through.

I love that fact that this park sits on the shore of the Potomac River. Everyone says that if you visit Alexandria that you have to take a quick stroll around this park. While the park is nice, it feels more like a huge lawn, rather than an actual park. However, there is nothing wrong with that because it's a perfect place to have large events such as food festivals. Also, the views of the Potomac River are pretty nice. I will say that during my last visit, I noticed quite a bit of trash/debris that washed up on shore. But, this wasn't something too off putting.

I can't speak for the whole park as I have only really seen one area of the park on each visit. Picnic area B and I are very familiar, and I have come to like this part of the park. Maybe one day I will make it back out here and explore more, but this review at this time is for what I have experienced thus far. Picnic area B is a set of areas sandwiched between Battery Meigs and Battery Humphreys. A great area to have a big gathering as both ends have bathroom facilities for use and those can be very useful. The one thing that you do not realize is how close you are to the water. No matter where you are in this park you are a very short walk to the water. Picnic area B is fairly close to both the Potomac River and Piscataway Creek. There are also trails that will connect areas and take you along the waterways. Specifically for Area B, there is ample parking for any amount of people you may invite to an event. It is shaded, but not as shaded as you would think. Throughout the day, if you want to be in the shade you will either have to move or bring a way to keep the sun away. If you do plan an event here, be sure to clean up after yourself. Do not leave anything behind as this is a park that is patrolled and it is your duty to pick up after yourself.

It's best to go early. Plenty of benches and covered areas for comfort while in the sun. Great place to walk with your dog or go on a date. There were also other places you could park further down the walk if you don't want to start at the end near the bridge. Lovely walk that I would enjoy doing again.

The views of the Potomac are lovely and the urban + historic vibe is a real treat. The underpass is a great area to to hang out, get out of the sun and people-watch as there are sometimes dancers, group workouts, etc., going on. It gets a bit shady (aka questionable) here sometimes - hence the periodic police presence. The bathrooms and nearby areas can get trashed which is truly a shame. I would not come here after dark, but that's just me. I've been here many times and have some stories to tell so just putting that out there. Don't let it deter you, just use common sense and be aware of surroundings and you'll be A-OK :)

We parked on the waterfront and walked through each park. The first one we encountered was the Waterfront Park. The park is well maintained , has many views, and things to do with lots of benches to sit . It had a statue of "The Shipbuilder". There are public bathrooms nearby by the art building. The paid parking lot beside the Waterfront Park is very affordable and not so stressful to park at despite the tight parking spaces. We paid only $15 - for the whole day (unlimited hours). It was very easy to find, and we had no trouble parking.
