    Made my day!
    Na H.

Came here for a job event and it was nice. As l am a B-more City gal and not at all familiar with this area of PG county, the park had multiple entrances along Thrift Rd., so l made my way down to each one until l found the right one! We had our event in the family pavillion area, which was not that huge, but not small either. There was a covered pavillion, so the event could carry on whether rain or shine, a restroom area, swings and sliding board for the kids and a decent amount of picnic tables with attached benches. As l was finding my way to my job's event area, l came across an area that looked like it was dedicated to the kiddies, with a host of outdoor playing areas. I also came across an area that had a baseball/softball field, basketball court and tennis court. I also found out on my way out, that they had a lake area as well. Beautiful park scenery made the drive bearable, but I won't promise that l would visit this park if there isn't a job sponsored event here because that 90 min drive doesn't peak my interest to do so, but l will kindly come if my job is hosting an event and l have nothing else planned.

This is a fantastic location in amongst a beautiful lake and forest. We have only visited for the playground area but there are paddleboats, walking trails and camping sites available. There is also an awesome skate park that my son had a great time running around in. During our most recent visit there were older kids skateboarding and younger kids riding scooters on it and they all were having a ball. They have a very large playground area that has plenty of room for the kids to run around and play. They also have a smaller playground in a separate area just down the hill. It takes me about 20 minutes to get to this playground so it's not one that I would come to every day but it's fun to go to a different one now and then and it is great to have this place as an option. They also have real bathrooms which is a huge plus!

Best Park ever the park ranger let our DJ play our music and was very nice and drove around making sure all was good

This is Marylands best secret hidden park and if you know about it you are very fortunate!! This is a beautiful serene park with a huge lake you can go paddle boating take the train ride or go visit the nature center where they have plenty of turtles I'm very happy coming here the bathrooms were immaculate the only negative where the bugs but it's nothing that can be done by the park it's nature after all I had my daughters graduation party here and everything was flawless the park ranger came didn't have a problem with our DJ and was very polite and he went to each individual site making sure everything was running smoothly I highly recommend this part of your having a large family function everyone will be happy!!

WOW!! What a GEM for PG County!! Tucked away in Clinton, this massive park is the best I've been to in the entire DMV area. It is absolutely beautiful and relaxing, first of all. Gorgeous trees, plenty of shade, a lake, shaded picnic areas, grills, volleyball nets, running trails, multiple play areas... But the best things are: the huge and awesome age-themed upper playground, the THREE DOLLAR (for an hour) paddle boats, train and nature center!?!?! Cannot believe this place was 10 minutes from home all this time and I've just found this summer. Needless to say I have been taking my 2 young girls here several times a week now to play and explore. We even spent the 4th of July paddle-boating and hanging out at the park. Very enjoyable and could become a tradition?:)

Make sure to bring your skate board

The park has a working farm feel -- the livestock were out during my visit -- and the butterfly garden was a delightful surprise. The river trails don't offer much unless you're fishing, so this isn't really a hiking destination or photography in September. What makes it worthwhile is the history and atmosphere. It's a peaceful place to reflect, take in the landscape, and enjoy a slower pace just outside the bustle of DC.

Established in 1961, the park preserves the historic view of George Washington's Mount Vernon and the surrounding area. Piscataway Park houses the National Colonial Farm, a recreation of a small 18th-century Maryland tobacco farm. Operated by the Accokeek Foundation, the farm includes historic buildings, heirloom crops, and livestock breeds typical of the colonial period. We visited Piscataway Park towards the end of the day. We walked the path through the farm and saw the Hog Island Sheep. This is a heritage breed the park seeks to preserve....there are less than 2000 of them left worldwide. The park is fairly small and there wasn't a ranger on site when we were there. The passport stamp is in the gift shop. The interpretive signs have seen better days, but still it was a lovely, albeit brief, visit.

With Rock Creek, Sligo Creek, Malcolm X, Anacostia and Potomac the All Star parks but what about all those other ones that are everywhere. One of those is Henson Creek Park. Is it in Temple Hills or Oxon Hill, who knows? I don't and I've been. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that once upon a time, Oxon Hill, Maryland (Eastover) used Washington, D.C. mailing addresses. I like playing with maps. Henson Creek Park both removed from the city and integrated into its surroundings. Walking along the trail, you may see a deer and 5 minutes later you are walking alongside an apartment complex. One or two times meandering through the park by way of the paved trails, there was the option to continue the trailway or cross the road. Because it was a Sunday morning I didn't see folks from surrounding neighborhoods using the trail to get from point A to point B but I like that it is laid out that way. What I did see was joggers, dog walkers, families and cyclist practicing, all of which was cool in my book. The big drawbacks for me was that the actual creek is off limits. Not that I would chill in it, it is disheartening to know that is receives sewage over flow. I guess it has to go somewhere. (When did they stop selling dyed toilet paper?) The other possible drawback which really didn't affect me was the lack of shade. The trail is paved and between the trail and the trees there is about 20 feet of grass on either side of you. I think this is keep the leaves out of the way during the fall but I could be wrong.

The park has a picnic shelter with picnic tables under it and a grill just outside of it. It has two picnic tables. One of the tables is rectangular and the other is a square table with a checkerboard on it. There is also a couple of picnic tables and a grill in a grassy area in the center of the park's circle. You will also find a nice full basketball court at the park and a nice paved trail passes through it. It is a really nice trail and very peaceful. The highlight of the park though, is its playground. The playground has a rubber mud free floor, which is in great shape. There are benches around the playground's perimeter where parents can sit and watch their little ones. The playground's equipment includes a small jungle gym with slides, a large net climbing structure with a slide. There is also a bank of swings with a toddler swing, An ADA compliant swing, and some traditional swings. This is a very nice park. I didn't know if I would make a special trip to visit, but it is still very nice. I ended up here because I had picked up some food from a carryout joint and needed a place to eat it. The park's picnic shelter was the perfect spot. So, if you are in the area, and looking for a park to visit. I recommend checking this place out.
