Loved this cute little playground. It's definitely a woodland wonderland. I appreciated all the cute details around, my kids were so excited every time they spotted a woodland statue around. There is a play area with water spray structures, this was a hit on a hot summer days. There are bathrooms conveniently located near the playground and I was pleasantly surprised that they were clean. There are so many hidden fun things so keep your eyes open while you walk around! Walker Mill Regional Park may be the coolest playground around. Just 20 minutes outside of Washington, D.C. in Capitol Heights, Maryland, it's easy to get to. Here's why you should visit: 1) Playground: It's massive and very fun. Its themed "Woodland Wonderland" with 10+ slides, swings and faux wood structures to climb on. Kids can go on a scavenger hunt for the animals carved into the playground, a few which talk! Also, find the piano floor that plays music. 2) Amenities: The bathrooms are clean and nice. This is a great playground and park about 30 minutes from my home in NW DC. The Woodland Wonderland is so attractive for kids, and unique features abound making this place really stand out. Lots of slides varying in height for all ages, a splash pad (for non-Covid times, wahh), a musical bridge - it's clear that this place is on the newer side. Holding back the 5th star because when we visited, we were pretty shocked at the TRASH everywhere! And one of the slides had a big, jaggedy broken chunk hanging out at the bottom. Maybe upkeep is a little slower during Covid but based on how nice the rest of the playground is, I expected things to be in better condition. read more

Awesome park and playground for kids! This is how you design a park for kids. It kept my little ones entertained for a long time. The whole design of the Woodland Wonderland is like entering into a mini amusement park or something. I def recommend coming here if you have young kids. There is also a basketball court nearby and there are bathrooms. read more

The park is amazing and has a misting area for hot days which is awesome! My son had a football game on the turf field which was a very nice field. The only thing the field is missing is 2 benches, they need one for each team. Other then that, it's a great football turf field, awesome playground, their baseball fields looked immaculate and they also had nice pavilions. Also, they had clean port-a-potties that didn't stink that was an added bonus. read more

Apparently, Walker Mill Regional Park is undergoing a multi-million dollar upgrade. As part of that, a new 'imagination playground' area there has recently opened--and it is AH-mazing!! The new 'Woodland Wonderland' is super imaginative: part playground/ part 'spray park'--thus perfect for hot summer days and a fun (free) alternative to local pools. Very creative concepts and play areas. Clean with plenty of seating (including shaded seating) to chill while the kiddies play. I think it's a LOVELY addition to Prince George's County parks and with the water-play component I am surprised, though thrilled, that it's free! Will definitely add this to our list of local play places. We also really like Cosca Park in Clinton, but this may be a favorite. read more

What a gem! The playground is beautiful. It looks like a fairy tale village. The grounds are well kept. The trail is also nice and wooded. Although, I wish it was a bit longer (in regards to distance). Apparently a helicopter crashed here and they have a memorial remembering those that died in the crash. There was a sign saying that some of the aircraft parts could still be in the park and if you uncover any, alert the proper authorities. read more

This park is enjoyable and it is a great park for toddlers. There are also nice walking and bike trails.
