Long Branch Park has preserved it rustic appearance...the big shady trees.. the inlet where ducks and goose hanging out... and the uneven paths.. BTW, if you look at all the houses and buildings... they do have their own little story.. they used to be cottages back in the early 1900s.. and some for them are hotels... yes this is the cottage area that the old Torontonians come to spent their hot summer weekends. While I was enjoying the breeze...and daydreaming owning one of those huge houses facing the Lake... My Yelp friend was thinking about what's for dinner! :)

"Marie Curtis Park is named after the Longbranch Reeve (a small village) Mayor Marie Curtis and is one of the few beaches in North America named after a female community leader. This park was created in the late 1950s to help control flooding after Hurricane Hazel nearly swept local homes in the area out into Lake Ontario. Throughout this park, you can find an abundance of wildlife and native plants. There is a playground, wading pool, a public swimming beach, picnic spots and walking trails including a connection to the Waterfront Trail. You will always find something to do at Marie Curtis Park." There was a nice spot we parked near so we sat for a bit and watched the birds. A young girl and her grandparents arrived with bread and it didn't take long for all the birds to come over. There are a couple of piers and beaches. It's a cute park ... we'll be back!

There are multiple parks and boating areas within the space they are each clearly labeled so its easy to meet up or give directions. originally came to find this trail to be able to reach a part of this park that unfortunately was…read moreclosed. my efforts were trying to access the north section of this park, when I walked to that area just before the highway, it was closed for renovations, so I explored the section of the park to the south? at face value, I didn't think this park was large as it was, i walked forever it seemed and didn't even get to the end of the park, which connects with Marie Curtis park south of lakeshore. a lot of access at random points to the humber river, which is great for people walking dogs to cool off, or if people want to see the salmon running during those times of the year. 4 baseball diamonds to the north, and a huge staircase that leads up to a parking lot, or a nice hill beside it depending on which direction you would like to go. getting back to my vehicle I noticed a pair of people actually doing a workout on this staircase by running laps up and down, I didn't want to interrupt so i did the hill route instead. lots of parking is available in a northern lot near the highway, but i can see the parking lot being jammed full of cars if all four baseball diamonds are running. no direct transit options, but the 123 sherway bus is closest with a bit of a walk. highly recommend checking this trail out for the west end!

I went during the weekday so it wasn't too busy and was pretty quiet. Apparently it gets pretty busy on the weekends though. The park also has a BBQ area but it might be by permit only since I saw a sign posted of the parties who had reserved the area by permit. This spot would be perfect for a date/picnic, especially during the warm summer months. It makes a great gathering area for family friendly activities as well!

There are plenty of fun playhouses and an apparatus for kids to play and have fun. Adults can spent time strolling around and enjoying the greenery. There are benches and places to sit if you want to people-watch. It housed a ton of ribfest vendors. I can see why many events end up being held here. It's a perfect place to have fun and relax. Parking can be a bit of a problem if there is an event. I had first thought about parking at the Port Credit Library lot, but it was full. Side street parking was crazy. I ended up landing a spot at the Port Credit GO and walking over to the park. I'd love to come back to this park, unwind, and see what it's like without the ribfest activities happening. There were quite a few people out and about so we all had the same idea. We've been to Humber Bay Park East many many times and don't know why we've never gone to Humber Bay Park West, which is less than five minutes from it. There are a couple parking lots and we found a spot in the one in the middle. We walked around a nearby point and then head southwest and ended up at the dog park. Then we turned around and headed to the beginning of the park, doubling back to the car. It's a nice park and we'll be back!
