It took two days to remove a clog. On day one, they refused to snake it, insisting on using a…read morecamera and then flushing it with high pressure. Instead of clearing the line, they pushed the clog out past a single unit, so it affected 7 units, then left for the day. When they came back, they tried to upsell me on replacing the clogged pipe for $25k. When I balked at the price, they said they gave me the wrong price, then went down to $22k, then $18k, then I said the most I could pay was $15k, and they agreed. Once they thought I was going to pay for that big job, they finally agreed to use the snake to remove the clog, which is what I called them out for in the first place. Needless to say, I will not be working with them again. FYI: The worker, Chris, was great. It's the company management I have a problem with. In the end, I got charged for using the camera, flushing, and snaking--and had to put tenants up in a hotel for the night, which could have been avoided if they had simply snaked the line as I asked them to.

The details: I called Martin after a clog removal by another company went sideways (probably the topic of a no star review in the future). The first company identified where the problem was, but also caused a spill of sewage inside the house, then quoted me $5k to dig up the pipe and really fix the problem. To no one's surprise, I wasn't happy. So I called AHJ for a second opinion, and Martin answered the call. He spent a good 20 minutes on the phone, asking me detailed questions about the problem, and explaining my options (the other company did none of that). He made no guarantees, but said he thought he could solve the problem, so I asked him to have a look. He was at my house within 3 hours. The line had two objects stuck inside, causing backups. Martin worked to jet out one of the objects out, then used a camera to inspect the entire 80 ft. length of the pipe. The second object was still there, though, and it looked like digging was the only option. However, this is where the real magic happened! The second object was about 12 ft from the clean out, and it was not budging. Martin, however, thinks outside the box. He got out a large shop vac and stuffed the hose down the line. With the help of his camera he aligned the end of the hose with the obstruction and started up the vacuum. It took a while and was not easy work, but Martin eventually pulled out a 8" long, 2 lb. solid steel spring! That's no exaggeration (How that got in there I'll never know). It was Amazing! He also documented everything with his camera and thoroughly explained everything that we could see. So, I now know all about the good, and the bad, of my main sewer line, should any future problem arise. Thank you, Martin, for the exceptional service!

Mark came out to help locate the problem found it and advised me of what needed to be done. No bullshit just honesty and super professional. He dealt with the owner of the property late at night to get the approval and had his guys out first thing the next day to dig up the pipe, replace it and just like that our toilets, showers, sinks and washer are all back in use. I can't thank Mark and his crew enough for all their help, hard work and professionalism. They even left our bathrooms clean and yard clean once completed. Great people great price great work. The guy I spoke to quoted me a reasonable-sounding price for a faucet replacement, so I went ahead and booked for the next day. I told him that I'd ordered a faucet from Amazon to be delivered by 8 AM, so they should maybe come in the afternoon. He said "No problem, we won't get there until 9 or 9:30 AM anyway." Next day, 9:30 AM, I message asking for an ETA. The response is "oh, we were waiting for confirmation that the faucet was delivered." That's interesting, because they never said they needed confirmation, but fine - I'll give it to you now. At 11:30 AM, I get a text saying "I should be there within the hour." At 12:55, I respond asking for an ETA, and get told that they were waiting for confirmation AGAIN, and that because they didn't get it they cannot schedule me for today, with a long message about "driving all the way to the city." I understand wanting confirmation - it would be pretty annoying to travel for a job, only to be sent back because the customer isn't available. But I wasn't asked for confirmation once by either employee who spoke to me, and every other plumber I've ever hired has not required confirmation, either. More importantly, I don't appreciate being spoken to as if it's my fault that I didn't magically understand that they needed something that was never once requested. (And don't get me started about "all the way to the city" - if jobs in a given location are too inconvenient, don't bid for them.) A few minutes ago, I booked with a competitor who offers same-day service, confirmed my availability while I was on the phone with them, and said THEY will send ME a confirmation when they're en route. What a breath of fresh air!

My mom can't be bothered to go to the chair yoga we're paying for, but Giulio went to work. He's not totally mobile, but he knows his s#!t. Whenever I come in, he or whoever else is behind the counter is happy to chat through my issue and suggest something. It's not a Home Depot- so they may not have what you're looking for every time- but they have a lot of things, and it makes me happy to know my money is staying local. Also, side story: One day during the summer, it's like 90, and I am behind a contractor who's getting a bunch of stuff - lumber, rocks...I don't know- but he's paying for it, and he grabs some water bottles for him and his crew and puts them on the counter. Giulio totals him up and says a number; the guy says, "Oh, don't forget these waters". Giulio says, "The town where I come from in Italy has the best water in the world, and it flows right off the mountain. If my father knew I was charging people for water, he'd come back from the dead and strike me down. Those are free." C'mon. How can you not go here first?

The star of the show was Dominick the repairman on site. At first I thought who is this kid they sent over. Younger than my youngest daughter but I was so blown away by his professionalism , work ethic and communication and expertise not to mention his conscientious commitment to getting every step perfect even capping old pipes that I would hire ALD again and recommend them to everyone. Too bad they don't do roofs. My water pressure and suction have never been better and I'll sleep better knowing the leak is finally stopped

The guys did a fantastic job changing my main water shut-off valve and prv. The owner sent me pictures of the jobs they had done before, so I knew they had experienced changing like mine before. Because of their approach and professionalism, I ended up having them take care of several additional items that weren't originally planned. They identified the root cause of the issues as high water pressure and installed a pressure-reducing valve outside the house. After Hector left, I noticed a small issue and he returned promptly to address it. Avoid this company and go with a more experienced bigger company!

He is pleasant and professional to work with and makes sure to treat my home with care - ways using booties and cleaning up any small mess that may have occurred. The pump he installed and the work he did cost us $1800 tankless water heater would've been at least $5000. He was easy to work with on time very easy to get along with. We had him back again to put in a new showerhead and valve assembly and unplugged a sink. He response almost immediately when we call him we will be using him again I'm sure.
