Lempira Restaurant is my hands-down number one comfort food destination because it is the one place that heals my soul. Whenever I order food to be delivered at Lempira's restaurant, my first order includes their Sopa de Pollo. Every single time, it is always the large bowl. Their Sopa de Pollo is no ordinary chicken soup. It is filled with bone-in pieces of chicken and large portions of potatoes and crunchy vegetables that come with a healing touch of majesty. Whenever I have flu or just need to be warmed up, it is no less efficacious to this healing sensation named pho. But there is more to love with their menu. Their Super Mariscos bowl is full of real seafood and real vegetables. It is definitely a choice for every seafood enthusiast. Their pupusas are every bit a real Salvadorian food. It is thick and warm with the right balance of cheese. Mojarra Frita Estilo Salvadoreño (Whole Fried Tilapia), their Mexican Ceviche, or their Sopa de Mariscos Estilo Salvadoreno is always like a home-cooked meal. The service is always top-notch whether dining in or ordering for delivery. Clients receive attention with care from the waiters, with meals carefully packed. For those looking to satisfy their souls with Salvadorian or Central American cuisine, Lempira Restaurant is definitely a restaurant to try. Five stars every time.

I came in Friday and had such a wonderful experience. The food was fantastic and the service was top notch. I was treated like I was family when that was the first time I had ever been. My eyes were much bigger than my stomach, so I had to take a good bit home which made for a fantastic lunch the following day. I spoke a lot with Francisco. We had such a wonderful conversation about our community and when I got in my car I cried. His conversation moved me. Our community needs our support right now and we need to come together in this time of need. I told him I will be back with all of my friends. He and my server were fantastic. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

I have visited the Lempira restaurant that is located on Eastway, but this is my first time coming to this location off of Central. There is free parking onsite in a shared parking lot. This particular Lempira is a bit more upscale than the other one that I visited and the service is much better! My friend and I seated as soon as we came in our waitress was Esmeralda and she was very observant of our needs. Esmeralda, gave us time to review the menu while we were waiting on our other friend to arrive. The food was delicious. It did not take a long time for it to come out. The manager, Francisco came around twice to make sure we were okay. He was absolutely gorgeous with a wonderful personality. We had a very nice time here we almost didn't want to leave. Lempira is cost-effective while providing excellent service with delicious well portioned food. This is definitely the location for me to visit again.

The food and the service was excellent. I had to drive 20 minutes to get there, but it was so worth every penny the restaurant already has up their Christmas tree so the ambience was amazing.

Visited this location for a sit down dinner one weeknight. The ladies at the front desk greet you. Everyone speaks Spanish so it is like stepping foot in a Latin American city. Don't worry it is still easy to communicate as I have a very basic knowledge of Spanish. The menu is in both Spanish and English. There are ton of options to choose from. The food is amazing, all the meats are seasoned to perfection. The interior is very colorful and bright. Do not expect a Ruth Chris type ambience or atmosphere but do expect that quality of food. The drinks are also very good and refreshing. My favorite was the horchata. For dessert we got the flan not usually a big fan of flan but it was delicious and my fiancé got the tres leches cake which she also enjoyed but at that point was too full to finish it. I cannot wait to come back here to try more items on their menu.

The atmosphere and food is amazing. They have so many different options for food and cultures. You have the option of Mexican food, Honduran and Salvadoran. The staff are friendly and professional. Please don't be scared if you don't speak Spanish. They have English speakers at this establishment and the menu is in Spanish and English below each option. The atmosphere is so inviting playing cultural music. I would definitely recommend eating here if it is your first time and want good food and a good experience.

Amazing, super friendly and ecstatic servers! Food was on point and bottomless tortilla chips :D This place is underrated and deserves more stars. will come again!

a piece of steak and salad

I bought two chicken meals of fried chicken rice and beans and salas I couldn't eat the beans because I don't eat pork the rice was ok but no flavor and the fried chicken was fried so hard we could hardly chew it this was very disappointing because when we had brunch there it was always ver good I don't know what happened tonight for dinner but we will just stick with Brunch

Great service, food is delicious and great atmosphere!!! I recommend this place one of the best places here in charlotte to eat some authentic food!!!!

This is my girlfriends family's favorite spot and I can see why. Believe my I never put up a fuss when they want to come here. The food is really good and the portions are huge. The menu is mainly Central American food. They have a little bit of Honduran, Salvadorean, and Mexican food. I'll admit the menu is a bit all over the place but you really can't go wrong with anything. My recommendations would definitely be the Pupusas a Salvadorean specialty don't know how to describe them but it's just delicious! Anything else you get on the menu is very good. If you're feeling a bit adventurous one night give it a try.

NOT FOR ENGLISH SPEAKERS unless manager is there. I called to order said my whole order the call got really foggy and ends. I call back 2x saying the same thing. My order. A #6 fried. That's was my whole order. She hung on me 13x. I'm not sure why but I personally wouldn't eat here for that reason. No English speakers and very poor service.

I originally was going to place the order online, but they're online option said it was unavailable so I went inside and sat down at the bar. The service was OK though it seemed most people did not speak English, which is fine. It just made it kind of harder to communicate. That said the food was decent but the reason why I gave two stars was because I feel very misled on pricing. The menu showed Que Siberia tacos three for $12. Steak/Asada tacos for three dollars which brings my total to 15+ the two drinks. I thought she said it was $20.80 so I paid it with my card and gave her five dollars cash for a tip. I get to the car just to double check the transaction and she charged me 3499 on my card and took the cash. I went back inside to confront her about this advising. She completely overcharged me, and she only offered to give my six dollars tip back to me. I am now going to dispute the transaction with my bank because I was unable to resolve this issue. That's sad.

Tacos El Nevado came highly recommended, so I headed over for lunch with high hopes. The restaurant was packed when I arrived around 1:30 p.m., which is usually a good sign. It appears to be a converted fast-food building with its own parking lot, outdoor patio, and a casual, family-friendly atmosphere. Despite the Charlotte heat pushing triple digits, the dining room was comfortable and bustling. Service was friendly from the start, and I was quickly seated with ice water, lemon, fresh chips, and three house-made salsas. The chips were excellent--fresh, crisp, and clearly made in-house. The standout salsa for me was the red salsa, which packed plenty of heat and flavor. There was also a tomatillo salsa and a creamy green avocado-style salsa. Both were good, although the tomatillo leaned a little too tart for my taste. The menu is extensive, with everything from seafood dishes and quesadillas to tacos and larger combination plates. As someone who loves sampling a little of everything, I was hoping for more traditional combo options, but this menu takes a different approach. I ordered the crispy taco plate with rice and beans. The presentation was attractive, with the tacos served upright in a metal rack alongside refried beans and Mexican rice. The rice and beans were both delicious and easily the highlight of the plate. Where things got mixed for me was the taco filling. I was expecting a straightforward seasoned ground beef taco, but the beef filling tasted more like a guisado-style preparation with a softer texture and a slightly tangy flavor profile. It may simply be a regional style or a misunderstanding when ordering, but it wasn't what I had anticipated. The chicken taco, however, was excellent. Tender, flavorful, and clearly made with higher-quality chicken than you typically find in a crispy taco. After trying it, I immediately wished I had ordered all chicken. While this visit didn't completely win me over, I don't think it's fair to judge a restaurant by one dish. The packed dining room, friendly service, fresh chips, excellent salsas, and strong chicken taco all suggest there's more to explore here. Next time, I'd skip the crispy beef tacos and dive into the street tacos or some of the house specialties that seem to be what many regulars were ordering. Tacos El Nevado didn't become my favorite Mexican restaurant in Charlotte on this visit, but it earned a second chance. Life is too short not to eat well, Charlotte. Keep exploring. Sometimes the next great meal is just one menu item away.

But I have to start with a small heartbreak: my beloved puffy taco is gone. I grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where the puffy taco was created, and it's deeply nostalgic for me. It's not a sope, not a tostada--it's a true puffy taco, light, airy, and unlike anything else. For a long time, Superica made one that came remarkably close to what I grew up with. Unfortunately, after changes in leadership and kitchen management, it quietly disappeared from the menu. That was a real disappointment. That said, I still come back--because the food here is consistently good. The crispy tacos with picadillo are my current favorite. Picadillo (P-I-C-A-D-I-L-L-O) is a traditional Latin dish with many regional variations, and this version reminds me of the one my grandmother used to make in San Antonio. The portions are generous, the flavors are balanced, and the menu offers something for everyone--from enchiladas and chile rellenos to steaks and fresh tableside guacamole. Speaking of guacamole, I'm a purist. I like it simple: avocado, jalapeño, cilantro, lime, garlic--chunky and clean. Superica delivers on that. The chips and salsa are bottomless, the salsa has great depth of flavor, and for those who like heat, they offer a tiny dropper of hot sauce that is smoky, bold, and absolutely not for the faint of heart. The ginger margarita is another standout. It comes with a generous piece of crystallized ginger and has a bright, balanced flavor that makes it easy to order a second one. And if you have room for dessert, do not skip the tres leches cake--rich, decadent, and a perfect way to end the meal. I also appreciate the little touches here: * Friendly, knowledgeable waitstaff * A lively bar area that's great for happy hour * A beautiful outdoor patio that makes al fresco dining feel special * And a fun tradition of sending you home with a packaged Texas praline This South End location is my personal favorite. It feels more adult and relaxed, while the Strawberry Hill location tends to be more family-heavy. Both are good, but the vibe here suits me better. Yes, prices have crept up a bit--as they have everywhere--but the quality, consistency, and atmosphere keep me coming back. And as someone who travels frequently for work across multiple states, I appreciate that Superica maintains a dependable standard wherever I encounter it. Bottom line: Even without the puffy taco, Superica remains one of my favorite Tex-Mex spots in Charlotte. Come hungry, bring friends, share plates--and as always, travel safe and eat well.

I had the cheese enchiladas and it was really delicious. The enchilada sauce was tasty. The rice and beans are also family style and was a nice addition.
