My boyfriend had the Tofu "combo" platter that included Basamati rice, Naan, and rice pudding along with a curry blended of wonderful vegetables, tofu, and delicious spices. My meal was similar except I opted for the paneer combo. The paneer was in small chunks and well cooked. Prepare to have some food to take home. I called the owner to ask about reservations and he said there'd be no issues at our chosen hour. The patio was clean and had goo separation between the tables. We ordered from the large menu posted out front and were seated. Around 20 minutes later the four of us had a great meal. Two had chicken curry platters which came with rice & naan like bread. The curries are not like the typical Indian or Thai versions, more like Nepalese with milder flavors. You really need to ask for things to be very spicy to have them be moderately hot. The other 2 had noodle curries, 1 with chicken, the other tofu & veggies. Everyone was stuffed when the owner brought out vegan rice pudding gratis. We will definitely be back. This hidden gem is wonderful. I'd been meaning to visit because they have a wide variety of options for anyone with a dietary restriction - GF, vegetarian, vegan, (don't worry meat eaters - they've got you covered). Healthy food doesn't have to sacrifice flavor and I'm so glad I made it in to this place! The curry plates (while seemingly pricey at $19.99) are enough for two people - totally affordable. We tried the eggplant and mushroom curry plate and it was so delicious. It came with your choice of rice (brown rice, cauliflower rice, quinoa, I'm forgetting the last one) and a piece of what reminded me of Indian roti. I highly recommend it. We so wanted to like this place: my husband and I try to eat exclusively 100% organic food, and finding restaurants willing to use organic ingredients can be a challenge. Sadly, the preparation methods of these ingredients leave something to be desired. When I saw the location of this place was next to Che's Lounge, I wondered how it was possible I had not noticed it before. When we visited, I realized it is because there is only small lettering on the front door reading "lemongrass". As other reviewers have mentioned, it would be easy to walk by this place on a daily basis and not realize it was there. Lemongrass was founded by a geologist from Nepal, Mr. Ojha. He was the one who waited on us and prepared our food during our visit. You order and pay upon entry and then take a seat to get your food. When I paid with my credit card, I left a (generous) tip on the credit card receipt. When I handed my receipt back to him to keep, he pointed at a cash tip jar and indicated tips should be given there. I thought he was indicating he was not going to process a tip left on my credit card receipt (I figured maybe for tax reporting purposes), so I left an additional healthy cash tip in the jar. I can now confirm at the time of this review writing, about one week after our visit, that he put through the tip on my credit card also, resulting in a $15.00 total tip on a $32.00 order. I have no problem in tipping well (I used to work in the service industry and understand how important is it) but this was not an honest approach to handling tipping. It was too hot to sit inside the restaurant, which surprised me: if it is too warm in March, what is this place like in July? But because it was a lovely evening, we elected to sit out on the back patio anyway. As the back patio is right next door to Che's back patio, a significant amount of cigarette smoke wafted by during our dining experience. Because it was so warm in the restaurant, the back door to the kitchen was opened onto the patio, giving my husband a view directly into the kitchen from where we were sitting on the patio. We had ordered rice with our meals. My husband watched as Mr. Ojha microwaved the rice for his meal. This was incredibly disappointing, especially because he was cooking other parts of our meal on a stove--it is not clear why rice had to go into the microwave. We were also the only guests in the restaurant, so there should have been time to properly heat the rice. I ordered the vegan fried rice. It was not particularly flavorful or remarkable. My husband ordered the shrimp curry, which he said was delicious. He had asked for it to be made extra spicy and it was definitely not, but it didn't impact his enjoyment of that part of the meal. We did not eat the microwaved rice. Mr. Ojha said he would have offered us naan, but as it is not vegan or gluten free, he did not bring it to us. He asked to see if we wanted dessert, but we were ready to leave by the time we finished our meal. A bummer experience. What's the point in making organic food if you're just going to microwave it? read more

I love Thai food and was expecting something flavorful and full of veggies. This was a mushy, bland, container of noodles. Was not sure what to think when we walked in. The indoor lighting was harsh and it was vancant. The owner has posted a large bio on how his food and restaurant came to be what it is today and it honestly sounded very neat. So now eager to try the food we switch to read the menu next to his bio poster and my husband and I both chose a combination plate. I got the mushroom eggplant dish, the most expensive on the menu at around $20. Before we went to find seating which I wasn't too excited about because of the lighting and now feeling the intense swamp cooler blowing all over (which I'm sure will feel great in the summer) the owner directed us to seating outback on a small patio where other people were and the lighting was really nice with plug in twinkle lights and the music from the Che's patio that may be a good or bad thing for some people but it wasn't bad during our stay. After a bit our dishes came out, right now he's serving on paper plates and utensils which may be a bummer to those who dislike unnecessary garbage to landfills, maybe it's easier for them with Covid or some other reason. Perhaps he will have proper wares later. Anyhow, the food was amazing! Hands down delicious. The flavors were so well complimented not too much of any spice and the vegetables were perfectly cooked and the amount of sauce to veggie portion was perfect in my opinion. I appreciated there was not much rice or naan given e I add the focus was on the dish and flavor you ordered . I don't feel he was trying to give me fillers and less of what I actually wanted.
